🌍 Background – Being LGBTQIA+ in Uganda

Uganda is one of the most dangerous places in the world for LGBTQIA+ people. Same-sex relationships are criminalized, and the Anti-Homosexuality Act imposes extreme penalties, including life imprisonment. This law has fueled a wave of state-backed persecution, harassment, and violence.

Queer people here face:

Physical attacks and mob violence

Evictions and homelessness

Denial of medical care

Arbitrary arrests and torture

Social isolation from family and community

Despite this, organisations like Pride Circle Uganda continue to work underground to provide shelter, medical help, and safe relocation for those in immediate danger.

💔 Our Current Emergency

One of our members has been violently attacked for being openly LGBTQIA+ and urgently needs medical treatment.

At the same time, we are working to raise $6,000 immediately to cover medical care, emergency shelter, and relocation for multiple community members facing life-threatening danger.
