I doubt a petition will do anything. I'll sign regardless, but mostly all this does is remind me this blog exists, and maybe I'll actually power through the reviews now to honor MGE. I'll be on the lookout for archives and preservation efforts in case the wiki can't stay up.

Recently several wikis on the fandom.com wiki’s site ( https://www.fandom.com/ ), Including the Monster girl Encyclopdia ( https://monstergirlencyclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Monster_Girl_Encyclopedia ) and Monster Girl Quest wiki ( https://monstergirlquest.fandom.com/wiki/MonsterGirlQuest_Wiki ) got the following message:

This is frankly censorship, and the result of an outdated puritan  attitude. Not to mention inconsistent and hypocritical. since several  other wikis with similar content have not gotten the same message. For  example, these ones:

The third Monster Girl we'll be taking a look at on this blog is a little troublemaker, or rather, whole groups of them at a time! Jump under the cut to find my thoughts on a peculiar girl, the Goblin! Remember to drop a request in the ask box for any monster girl reviews you'd like to see, and to follow this blog for more!

First of all, I'd like to apologize for basically dying these past few days; to make up for it, I'll do my best to put out content every day this week! After that, I'll probably settle for 3 or 4 reviews a week with other content sprinkled in.

Concept: Goblins are the first we'll see of monster varieties that go around in groups. According to their encyclopedia entry, they live in villages they make themselves, and seem to be a pretty intelligent monster compared to many. However, whem they go out in groups looking for humans to steal from, they still rape men they like, so they're definitely and unambiguosly monsters either way.

Her personality seems like that of a mischievous little sister, the kind of girl who's extremely annoying amd tiresome to be around, but at the same time she's so charming you can't bring yourself to leave her be (and she probably wouldn't let you anyways.)

This is all fine and well until you factor in the vast amount of goblins you're more likely to encounter. Getting caught up im a goblin harem would probably be less like having a lot of wives and more like having to look after an entire class of grade schoolers. Which... if you're into that go for it, but it seems to me like it's more trouble than it's worth. However, there's still hope for me, it seems: Kenkou Cross has stated group monsters like goblins amd werewolves won't always share with the pack, and that it depends on the group you come across; he's even stated wife-husband monogamous relationships can coexist with harems in the same group or pack. Which I guess in this case must feel like being the auxiliary teacher to the poor sap looking after the entire group.

Finally, there's goblins who are merchants, and sell products and crafts made in their village to humans; but there's still a chance they'll rape men they like, because they're still monsters through and through. If you're looking for a goblin wife, your best bet is probably to look for them on the marketplace and offer to pay with your body, then hope they like you enough to take you with them.

Design: Okay, here's something interesting about them I didn't notice until i was trying to draw one of them. They look like they're wearing quite a lot of clothes, right? Well... Go back up and look again. Look very closely at their shorts. They're basically transparent.

How they would get and use this thin, lovely fabric is beyond me, but honestly I don't even feel like picking on its incongruencies, because they're basically almost naked but it's not obvious that's such a great design.

I also appreciate their useless little gloves and leg warmer thingies, they're very cute. Also they have a tiny bag, marking them as one of the more civilized monsters (for a given definition of civilized, of course.) The only thing that really bothers me about them is their horns- I can't tell if one is bigger than the other or if that's just perspective. Hobgoblins definitely look like they have a bigger horn, but here it's not too clear.

Anyways, their pose and color scheme are also flawless. This is a design that doesn't make too much sense but which I enjoy very much regardless.

Inspiration: Globlins in mythology are kind of all over the place. They had many particular characteristics that didn't make the cut for the version we're most familiar with: the high fantasy version popularized by Tolkien. They were originally related to fairies in a way (which might explain why monster girl goblins are lolis like fairies, but I may be reading too much into it) and were portrayed in a more comical light. Tolkien seems to have basically fused them with orcs, who Kenkou-sensei has identified as a different type of monster, so it makes sense for his version of goblins to draw more from their original mischievous, bumbling but still dangerous origins than from Tolkien's interpretation.

Final thoughts: Goblins are small, clever and mischievous kids whom I love on their own, but I'd honestly hate to run into a pack... unless they're led by a very special goblin. But that's for another review!

two reviews in and i'm already losing motivation

i hadnt realized how boring it was going to be to go trough the basic types of most monster families from book 1... i want the sweet embrace of death... or at least some feedback, literally all of my posts have 0 notes. I'll continue for like a month but if this continues to be dead by the end of march i'm throwing in the towel :^) at least then i'll be able to say i tried Anyways please send requests because otherwise its going to take me ages to get to the more interesting monster girls, pls and thanks -primera

For our second Monster Girl review, we have the first of a very special monster girl class: Slimes! Before we get into its many variations, though, we must cover its basic form: the lovely blue-colored Slime, plain and simple as she is! Follow the slimy trail under the cut for the review, and don't forget to follow for more reviews, and drop any requests you have in the ask box!

Concept: Slime here is the base form of the Slime monster girls subclass. By herself, the Slime here is just your basic, run-of-the-mill cute slime girl, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to talk about! Let's use this cute blue girl as an opportunity to talk about things almost every slime can do, by example, so we don't have to go back to them over and over again in future slime girl reviews.

Despite slime girls being pretty popular monster girls, it seems like basic-category slimes are actually kind of a pain to deal with? They don't appear to have very developed thoughts or emotions, and are just kind of... semen-milking machines. I mean, good for you if you're into that, but other than that there's not that much going for them.

One thing that's unique to slime-type monster girls is their peculiar reproduction method. They don't get pregnant like most monster girls that reproduce; instead, they use the spirit energy they get from their husbands to grow the excess, formless slimey parts, and when they're big enough they split into another slime girl. This is actually interesting: are they cells? They don't seem to be, but can you really say for sure they're not magic-fueled, enormous single-cell lifeforms? Sometimes the "monster" part of monster girls only comes to light when you really stop to think about them.

They also produce what's known as Slime Jelly, which is actually a cut-off bit from the excess part of the slime. Considering what we know about the slime's reproductory system, this is actually kind of really creepy, but it doesn't seem like they feel pain from it so whatever. They do seem to be kind of a pain to trade with, though; either you need to take as much as possible while they're not looking, or you have to ask their husband to convince them to give you some. Either way, the jelly has a "refresing taste". I want to think it tastes like lychee ramune. No idea why, it just seems right.

Design: There's not much to say about slime girls other than they're cute and slimey. Also blue! I like how they look vaguely like water, but not quite; like how you'd try to color the ocean really bright blue but then you look at it and there's something that doesn't seem right. It adds to the slimyness of it.

The art itself isn't amazing or anything, either, because this seems to be from the time Kenkou Cross wasn't as good as he becomes later but still feels there's something really wrong in the original art, so he redoes it. I'm still waiting for a third revision of this girl, honestly- her pose looks very awkward and stiff for a girl made of slime. (The. again, there's monsters that still need a second revision to begin with, so...)

On the other hand I have a tiny problem with their children.

Namely, why do they look like actual children...? Like, their breasts and hips are tinier. I know I should be questioning why they have breasts in the first place, since they don't feed their children with them, but presumably it's to help in their task of seducing and continuously fucking men. But if that's the purpose of looking voluptuous and alluring... then, why aren't their children born already having all of this weaponry? You could argue there's not enough excess slime for it, but shouldn't it be a priority to help them survive? Considering their reproductory method, shouldn't their bodies as they grow look the same as adult slimes, but smaller?

Oh, who am I kidding. It's obviously an excuse to have loli slime girls. They don't actually stay as lolis, though, so it still seems kind of pointless in the end. I guess Kenkou Cross realized this and that's part of why Humpty Eggs are a thing now.

Final thoughts: Suffers from the same problem as the Succubus in that she's boring only in comparison to the wide variety of other slime girls, and how shoddy this specific girl seems in comparison. Also, slime lolis make no sense in-universe.

Our first Monster Girl review on this blog, of course, has to be a classic: the original-flavored sexy devil, the hipster of cute monster girls, it’s the lovely Succubus- or Succubi in plural! Find my thoughts about this monster girl under the cut, and follow this blog for more; requests are always open!

Concept: The Succubus is an interesting monster in that it’s… honestly pretty boring, but only by virtue of its enviroment within the world of Monster Girl Encyclopedia. See, our dear Succubi are the hipsters of the MGE world- they were sexy seductresses who fed on spirit energy before it was cool!  It was their whole gimmick, back in the good ol’ days when monsters killed and ate humans. However, one particular, very powerful and very mysterious succubus ascended to the position of Demon Lord some time ago, and decided to make EVERY monster type basically a modified version of succubi. Even though this supposedly made them rise in the monster ranking… I actually think it must have been counter productive? Because these girls are now literally unable of doing anything other monsters can’t do.

Succubi are a very vanilla monster girl class, because their gimmick IS being monster girls, an idea literally everyone else is now on board with. They also seem to be very common, as the default monster all monsterized women become, so if you’d set out on a quest to be the very best monster harem protagonist like no one ever was, you’d probably treat them like zubats once you’ve run into enough of them. “GOD DAMN IT, ANOTHER ONE OF THESE. Where are my repels.”

Design: The Succubus has a pretty okay design, I suppose, but like the rest of it, its problem is that it’s… way too tame compared to every other monster. It has nothing going for it; it’s basically just “sexy anime devil girl”. The curly horns are a nice touch, and I enjoy the hearts and symbols scattered across her design, but… other than that she’s just very bland and boring. Even her hair is just straight medium blue hair, and her clothing is basically a bikini armor with some belts thrown in for the Sexy Aesthetic.

Also, these are just nitpicks but- what’s up with her wings being in her lower back? Does she fly like that…? I know it was probably for the Aesthetic, but… what Aesthetic are they even going for here, again? What charm do lower-back wings have that normal wings don’t?

And speaking of her lower back… the succubus depicted here might need to go to the hospital, because her column seems to be broken. This position looks WAY too uncomfortable; if you don’t believe me, I invite you to try and mimic the pose she’s in right now- one leg slightly over the other while bent, her legs and hips going in an opposite direction to the rest of her torso and especially her breasts, which she’s pushing out towards her right, but her head still looking straight forwards towards the camera… Yeah, this pose was not thought trough very carefully.

Fun fact: this monster actually used to have a design I actually consider to be better. Not the original artwork; those tend to be Really Bad, because our dear Kenkou Cross wasn’t anywhere near the level of skill he’s at today. I’m talking about the second revision artwork:

There it is, in all of its blurry glory. The artwork isn’t really flawless either, but at least her back isn’t broken, and the shadows give her a dark cham- like she’s looking down on you, her prey. She also actually looks like a demon here! The markings on her skin look more demonic than the random solitary heart on the current design, and her clothes make a bit more sense. Sadly, this was probably considered Not Hot Enough and changed to the current design. Well… At least it’s not a bad design, either. Just very bland.

Inspiration: The succubus, as one would expect, is one of the monsters who sticks the most to its inspiration. Succubi were originally said to appear in dreams to men and seduce them. It was said repeated intecourse with them led to illness and death. Other legends go deeper into their origin, like the first succubus being Adam’s first wife; then there’s the stories about them actually being really gross up close, and their vaginas being filthy and dripping with urine and… other bodily fluids… Yeesh.

Thankfully, Kenkou Cross stuck to the basics of the succubus as it’s been watered down by its repeated appearances in media. People love the idea of a sexy girl devil, as the Monster Girl Encyclopedia and sexy halloween costumes can easily prove.

Final thoughts: Succubi really deserved better. They’re a good concept on its own, in a normal, non monster girl filled world, but as it stands, they do nothing other monsters don’t do better.
