When talking about the 8th house in regards to relationships, the first thing that we think of is sex, however the 8th house rules sex because it is all about any type of deeper intimacy in any committed connection. Our 7th house tells us how we relate to others and what type of connections we like to establish with others but the 8th house can tell more about what you need in order to nurture and establish a deeper connection with someone. Of course many other things in the chart are very telling of how you connect with others such as Moon or Venus, but in this post I'll focus on the the 8th house which is all about going past that one-on-one interaction (7th house) to really let the other person in, which is why you may or may not be comfortable with your 8th house energy. This house is very telling of the type of energy you need in order to build trust and strong binding and also how you behave with the people you trust

Earth risings really want to get to know someone on a really deep level due to water DSC. They don't necessarily overshare (they very much can), but they are the ones who can get through to others, they're the type to want to make small talk vulnerable or deep right away and you will notice this with how easy it is for them to get through to others. They are very good listeners and can easily make people feel loved and appreciated even through a casual interaction. They do this because they want to know who someone is deep down so when intimacy comes they feel free enough to show their wilder, adventurous or even childish side without being judged since they have fire 8th house. They want to be pampered back and feel a little "selfish" and free and dominate the situation or their partner doing so. I like to think of it as they charm people in (water 7th house) so they can be adored (fire 8th house) but not in a malicious way of course. The type of dynamic they seek with people they trust always involves playfulness, spontaneity and will definitely be out the door if you judge their personality or ego in some way. If they don't trust you they will be able to stir you up emotionally without showing you their real personality which can result in them leading people on a lot. This does not mean they are fake but since they are earth risings, they are used to keeping it together all the time so they want to be able to let loose during intimacy. They are attracted to people who they find a little daring cause they are looking for someone who takes out their feisty side.

Aside of this glamorization and idealization of these placements, let's really talk about the reality of this placement. To have Pluto/Scorpio in your 1st house or placements, it genuinely feels like you carry the title "Angel of Death", people noticing it subconsciously wherever you go, and having to deal with people constantly running away, misunderstanding, and being terrified of having you around in their lives, in fear that your existence will inflict change and transformation that they are not prepared to face in their lives.

It doesn't help that we've been forced to battle life since the beginning of time ourselves. The scars and the darkness that came, the deaths of all of our past entities, it's something that overtime we learn to carry almost proudly with our presence, because in this darkness we found our truth and inherited a forbidden wisdom that only the bravest of souls could ever acquire. But people can sense this, making it harder for us to not elicit curiosity and terror whenever we walk into a room, making it harder for us to find people who are really accepting of who we are and make real connections and friendships with others.

Yes, we're magnetizing because we thrive in the shadows, and we understand that this knowledge can only be understood by those who are open and can hold space and alchemize it into a great source of enlightenment and light. The facade of people we encounter on a daily basis makes this process much more slower and more exhausting to deal with. We are in constant search of the truth within ourselves and the people we meet, but not everyone feels the same. Not everyone wants to face their darkness or see themselves in the mirror we so bluntly provide.

Society wants to fantasize and fuck the girl who embodies the perfect idea of the Femme Fatale, but reproaches her when she stings them with the truth of their hypocrisy and isn't afraid to make people pay for their ignorance and sadistic behavior. mars in aries

at home in its own sign, you’re very sure about its desires. passions burn brightly, and you know exactly who and what you want. being cardinal, mars in aries likes to take the initiative, and does tend to rush at people in a way that can be quite intimidating to those who like to make decisions more slowly. the person with mars in Aries is excited by the pursuit, however, so rejections and evasions only serve to fuel the fire. finding it hard to admit defeat, they cannot believe that they won’t get what they want, and will see the slightest ambiguity as grounds for optimism. the mars in aries does have a tendency to enjoy the chase more than the end result, so that they often lose interest in people once they have have them. they are then likely to run away just as fast as they were pursuing before :/ someone who wants to retain the interest of this person will need to remain always a little elusive.

the signs as famous whores, courtesans and madams, part deux

Aries: Veronica Franco 

She was a fierce and intelligent whore who was tried as a witch. She was an author who wrote incendiary and scandalous poetry, embodied in writing a duality, toggling between and addressing both private and public life matters. She also was, arguably, one of the first documented feminists. Whatever her claims to fame, Veronica Franco was and remains the most famous cortigiana onesta (honoured courtesan) of the Italian Renaissance. Born in Venice in 1546, the daughter of Paola Fracassa, a courtesan  herself, she is remembered as a beautiful and highly educated woman, a  fine poet with a strong character.   Franco was the only daughter among the family’s three sons.  In her erly teens, Franco was married off to a doctor in the early 1560s, the marriage  dissolved shortly afterward after she cheated on him, and the courtesan was free to socialize with  the city’s elite. In 1575, she published a volume of her own poetry, the Terze rime. There are 25 poems, but only 17 are by Franco. Her poems represent and transform  her life as a courtesan. The poems advertise these accomplishments and raise her above less educated women selling sex. She was known for being direct, always addressing her poems to a specific man from whom she requested a response. Franco is also openly erotic, even sexually explicit. From her  first poem, she celebrated her sexual expertise as a courtesan and  promised to satisfy her interlocutor’s desires. Her frankness of speech  and the specific situations she dramatizes also challenge the idealizing clichés of  the love poetry that was popular at the time. As an honoured courtesan she lived quite splendidly; she played music (the lute and the spinet), was well versed in the literature of ancient Greece and Rome as well as of the present, and mingled with thinkers, artists, politicians and poets. Franco even corresponded with King Henry III of France and spent 10 days with him. Franco had a higher status than most courtesans, but she wasn’t above being brought down. In fact, all it took for Franco’s fragile status to crumble was an anonymous accusation of witchcraft in 1580. Franco was consequently hauled before  the Venetian Holy Inquisition, a tribunal created by the Venetian government and the Catholic Church to sniff out heresy, and forced to defend herself against a panel that was ready to see her executed. The trial lasted for two days, in which she bravely stood her ground and defended her innocence. Eventually, Franco was acquitted of all charges (there is evidence that her connections among the Venetian nobility helped in her acquittal). But this began a downward spiral as her reputation was irreparably  damaged. She was also severely impoverished by the plague years of 1575-77 in which she lost many of her valuable possessions through  theft, and her faithful patron and friend of many years, Domenico Venier, died in 1582. Her tax declaration of 1582 stated that she was  living in a section of the city where many destitute prostitutes ended  their lives. She died in relative obscurity at the age of 45 in 1591.

As if you people haven’t had enough of these types of posts, here goes yet another one. I’ve covered the personal planets in snapshots (see exhibit A, exhibit B, exhibit C, exhibit D and even exhibit E), but here is a more lengthy description of how the sun signs love and what the sun signs need in love.

pisces: out of all the sun signs, pisceans are the most empathic and psychically attuned to a lover. a pisces will not know any limits on how far they’ll go and how much they’ll sacrifice for a lover, which makes them as popular and revered as lovers as much as it makes them doormat material. they tend to idealize love and their partner, so much so that their fantasy takes precedence over sex or logic. they can be quite consumed by love. this compulsion with love can either transform their personalities into something ugly and irrational in the immature and low-functioning pisceans, or uplift the personalities of the evolved and high-functioning. sexually, they aren’t highly erotic in a purely physical sense, preferring a more ethereal approach, usually involving a melding of the spiritual and mystical as well as through fantasies. needs a partner who is well grounded and realistic. can adapt to their lover’s sexual style. pisceans work hard to make a relationship work, but if they feel that it is getting too difficult, their natural reaction is evasiveness, vagueness and deception, and prefer to take the easy way out of a tricky situation. the like to pass the buck when it comes to who is at fault, and not be too concerned about the consequences of their actions.
