“Fun Commands and a First Dance”
Cheppie: Wow... This is so extravagant.
Emma: I've heard that Aqua Regina is a cruise ship for the rich.
Lavish splays of food are laid out on grazing tables, while live string music flows through the venue.
Now that the ship has departed, a welcome party is being held in the hall.
Camus: Cheppie, Emma-san. I need your attention for a moment.
Camus: I found our target.
Cheppie & Emma: ......!
Ushered by Camus-san's hushed voice, I glance over to see a man in an elegant suit.
That man is a broker who distributes illegal magical gadgets in Greybrand.
All of this started after a con trick was exposed at a casino. It involves the use of a magical gadget that interferes with the target's will.
Cheppie: Camus-san! At your command, I will apprehend that man!
Cheppie: Without my physical form, I can sneak up as close as possible and catch him off guard! You can count on me!!
Camus: I appreciate your enthusiasm, but that wouldn't be a wise course of action. We need to move with the utmost caution this time.
Camus-san is after the man's distribution routes and documents, as well as a list of his clients.
All of this information is recorded within a tie clip-shaped magical gadget that the broker never takes off.
Camus: He might become wary of us if we approach him too soon, so we'll wait and observe for now.
Emma: Understood.
Cheppie: Ehh...? You don't want me to do anything? I was hoping I could help you...
Camus: First we'll make sure to cut off all escape routes, then find the perfect moment to strike him down in one fell swoop... That is how I do things.
As a smile slips on Camus-san's face, the music switches to a waltz, a cue that it is time to dance.
Camus: In the meantime, I propose we dance for a song. This is an excellent chance to play up our innocuous married couple act.
Emma: Okay.
Taking Camus-san's outstretched hand, I initiate the dance steps I learned a while ago.

Cheppie: Hwahh......
When Camus-san and I finish our dance, we return to Cheppie, who was watching by a pillar.
Cheppie: Dancing is so majestic...
Emma: If you're interested, how about a dance with me? It'll be fun.
Cheppie: N-No, I must refuse! I was just awestruck by the two of you!
Cheppie: Besides... I don't know one bit about this sort of thing.
Camus: ......
Camus: Then I'll give you a command.
Camus: You must dance with Emma-san—no, you must enjoy this cruise together until the time comes.
Cheppie & Emma: ...Huh? / Eh?
Cheppie: B... But...
Camus: Oh? Protesting my orders?
Cheppie: No, no, no, no! I would never ever! I will enjoy myself until I can't move anymore!!
Cheppie: But... Is it possible to dance with my restraints on...?
Camus: Dancing in a venue like this requires neither experience nor technique. Just enjoy the atmosphere.
Emma: Cheppie, let's dance.
Cheppie: ......
(Cheppie materializes)
Fortunately, his restraints are not as tight as usual, so Cheppie timidly places his hand atop the one I offer him.
Pulling his hand, we begin gently swaying to and fro.
Cheppie: So this is what dancing is like...
Emma: Hehe, fun, right?
And so, until the song changed, I savored the dance I shared with Cheppie...

“A Very Enthusiastic Attendant”
—ANCYRA, THE LAND OF PIRATES - LUXURY CRUISE SHIP: AQUA REGINA—
Emma: The sunset is beautiful...
Camus: Indeed. But you are far more beautiful in my eyes.
Emma: ......!
With a gentle smile on his lips, Camus-san swiftly wraps an arm around my waist.
Camus: Now then, why don't we get something to drink?
(Camus snaps)
Cheppie: You summoned me, right!? Your wish is my command!
Camus: Please bring us a bottle of chilled champagne.
Cheppie: Haugh! With pleasure!!
(Cheppie leaves and comes back)
Cheppie: Thank you for waiting!
Emma: Th-That was fast...!
Cheppie: It's so I can hear your next command even a second sooner!
Camus: Your reflexes and response time are something to be admired, Cheppie.
Cheppie: Hauuugh! Thank you! What shall I do next?
Cheppie: Shall I get on all fours and be your table? Or would you prefer a chair!?
Emma: That would turn heads for all the wrong reasons, so I think we'll turn down both of those offers...
Cheppie: Oh...
Camus: Here is your next command. Bring my wife something to wear.
Cheppie: Haugh! As you wish~!
Emma: "Wife"...
Camus: Hehe, still not used to it?
Emma: S-Sorry.
Camus: There's no need to force yourself to adjust to it, Emma-san.
Camus: The way you blush at the word "wife" is just like a newlywed would—it's pure and adorable.
Emma: (...I know we're just acting, but my heart can't handle this!)
How did we end up in this situation? It goes back a few days ago...
(Flashback)
Emma: Huh? Camus-san, you want us to be husband and wife!?
Camus: Yes. Though to be precise, we'll be posing as husband and wife.
Camus: I received intel that the man I am pursuing will be onboard the luxury cruise ship Aqua Regina.
Camus: This ship is popular for honeymoons.
Emma: It's true posing as newlyweds would be the most natural cover.
(End flashback)
Emma: (That said, I might've bitten off more than I can chew...)
Cheppie: Thank you for waiting, my lady!
As I cup my hands over my burning cheeks to cool them down, Cheppie drapes a shawl over my shoulders.
Emma: Thank you.
Cheppie: No, being of service to you is my greatest pleasure. Please, let me serve you even more.
Emma: I think you've done plenty already.
Cheppie: No way! I haven't done nearly enough!
Cheppie: After all, I'm posing as an attendant for you and Camus-san—er, should I say, your husband.
Cheppie: Attendants are meant to work themselves to the bone in devotion to their masters!
Camus: Perhaps, but regardless, your loyalty has always been remarkable.
Cheppie: Hehe, that's because the both of you are the ones I serve!
Cheppie: The commands I receive from Emma-sama and Camus-san fill me with exceptional satisfaction!
Cheppie: Haughhh! Saying that makes me want a new command!
Emma: (He's the same as ever, but I guess... seeing Cheppie pains me somehow.)
Emma: (But I'm here for work, so I have to stay focused!)

Mel ✦ Beginning of a Bond (07)
[01] [02] [03] [04] [05] [06] [XX]
“What Shines After A Polish”
Ever since then, Mel continued to polish the stone with all his might―
Mel: I... I'm done...
(Mel collapses)
Emma: Mel!?
Emma: Wait, huh...!?
Mel: Ahaha... What are you surprised about, Master? I'm exhausted... at least let me lift my physical body...
Mel: I can't tell if you're slow or if you just can't think straight... You're full of nonsense...
Emma: (He can still complain this much, so he's probably okay.)
Volks: ―What a beautiful sheen.
Volks: Marvelous work, Mel. You sublimated that uncut gem into a brilliant jewel.
Mel: ―Seriously! That drab gem was a nightmare to work with! You totally tampered with it beforehand, right?
Volks: No. I swear to you I did nothing.
Volks: The gem you chose possesses a unique trait: it adopts the shape envisioned by the one polishing it.
Volks: Only one factor had prevented you from turning it into a jewel. What sort of jewel did you, Mel, want it to be?
Volks: That intention had been missing.
Mel: Hah!? What's that about? You never mentioned that!!
Mel threw his gaze upward. After his loud outburst, he eventually lowered his arms...
...and gazed deeply into the jewel. After spending so much time with it, polishing it fervently, it now gave off a beautiful sheen.
Mel: It's pretty. I don't really know why, but... I feel like I could stare at it forever and never get sick of it.
Mel: If this gem was made from my wish, then that means... this is perfect beauty?
Volks: Who's to say? I'm not the one who holds that answer.
Volks: At the very least, would you say the beauty you're perceiving right now is something valuable?
Mel: ......
Mel: .........Maybe, I guess.
Emma: I think your feelings hold the answer. I've never seen a jewel this beautiful myself.
Mel: Master...
Volks: You're putting on quite a face, Mel.
Mel: ......
Volks: It appears that it did strike a chord with you somewhere. That would make this victory mine.
Mel: !! H-Hah? I don't even really feel anything! Could you not just go and decide I'm the loser!?
Volks: Hehe, for now let's just revel in this beautiful sheen. The glow likely won't last more than a few minutes.
Emma: ...Huh?
Mel: What do you mean?
Volks: Aren't you curious why a jewel that holds such a beautiful shimmer isn't widely circulated?
Volks: Although it takes a great deal of time and effort to polish, the sheen only lasts for about ten minutes.
Mel: No way! After I-I spent all that time working on it!?
Volks: Yes, it is disappointing, isn't it?
Mel: What's with that massive drawback...!? I knew this gem was a piece of garbage—
Volks: Creating even the slightest sheen demands a considerable amount of effort—it's true that this is one of its flaws.
Volks: But at the same time, it holds a unique charm not found in any other gemstone.
Volks: Mel, I feel the same way about you.
Mel: ...Me?
Volks: Yes. You said before that imperfect things are worthless. However...
Volks: All it needs is a polish, and even something imperfect can unleash a beautiful shimmer.
Volks: You may not be perfect, but you are absolutely not worthless.
Mel: ......
Volks: With eyes and insights as keen as yours, you may consider everything—including yourself—to be worthless.
Volks: But those are, in other words, areas of improvement that can later be polished. Being able to scope them out is a wonderful skill to have.
Volks: Mel, let me reiterate this once more.
Volks: You are not worthless.
Mel: ......
Mel quickly turned his head away, as if not wanting us to see him.
After a little while, he took a deep breath, before throwing his head back as usual.
Mel: Hmph, like I'd... like I'd be happy to hear that from you, Volks!
Volks: Is that so?
Emma: (He says that, but... he's totally happy about it.)
I couldn't help a smile from spreading across my face, sensing the relationship between them ease up.

A few days after Mel polished the raw gem—
Mel: Uwah, this report is a total disaster. The sentences are way too wordy and the handwriting is an ugly mess.
Mel: They obviously didn't consider the one who's gonna have to check this.
Volks-san was taking care of his work with Mel beside him, cheerfully rattling off criticisms.
Volks: Hm. This is from one of Adel's subordinates. They must've been rather busy and wrote this while short on time.
Mel: Well, I think they still could've done it way better.
Mel: If you've got this much to say, you should put them in bullet points instead of these long-winded sentences.
Mel: Also, the structure is all over the place. Wouldn't it be easier to read if they put the more detailed items at the beginning?
Volks: Indeed, rearranging the report's structure might be a great idea.
Mel: ...! R-Right? We could clean up this report tons more.
Volks: Oh? Would you mind sharing with me?
Mel: Ehh? You can't figure it out yourself? Well, like, the order right here—
Mel's criticism was still as harsh as ever, but he's begun to suggest specific areas for improvement...
Emma: (Knowing Volks-san, I bet he's totally picked up on this change in Mel.)
Mel: Hah... I can't believe this. You're all such a handful.
[Mel's POV]
Imperfect things are pointless. Even now, that idea still lingers with me...
But when I saw the sheen of that jewel I polished, I thought it was truly beautiful.
For some reason, I feel like... I was saved by that feeling.
Mel: (Perfect things don't exist. So everyone, including me... we're all worthless.)
Yet I still hear Volks' voice saying "That's not true" echoing in my head.
Mel: (...I can't do anything except point out obvious flaws.)
Mel: (But if... what Volks says is true, and anything can be polished...)
Will even someone like me be able to shine one day?
Whenever I remember the beauty of that jewel, I start thinking about things like that.

To download your data, click this button in the lower right of your home screen. The file size will depend on how much content is in your account.

The download option is available from now until November 19, 2024.

Mel ✦ Beginning of a Bond (06)

“The Uncut Gem of Adversity”
Some time after the gem polishing began... Mel had waged a fierce battle with the stone, not once taking a break.
Mel: Dammit...! This stupid drab gem... Ah, I know! Next I'll try carving it after chilling it for a while.
Emma: You're going to chill the gem?
Mel: Yup. I hate to admit it, but I can't attack head-on, so I've got no choice but to exhaust my strategies.
In the end, however, that strategy did not work.
Mel: ...I'm not the type to back down that easily. When pushing doesn't work, try pulling instead―isn't that right?
Emma: What are you going to try next?
Mel: Heh! Obviously there's only one answer.
Mel: ――Burning it at the stake!!
As Mel was cheerfully holding the gem over an open flame, Rose happened to walk by.
Merryrose: Woah, what are you doing?
Mel: Exactly what it looks like? Or do you think I'm roasting a pig?
Merryrose: Ha, since when do fairies eat gems? Kinda weird of you.
Mel: Hah? Who said I'm gonna eat it!?
Once again, the uncut gem remained unchanged in the end.

Emma: (I wonder where Mel went this time.)
Mel: I'll throw in some of this, some of that... hehe... hehehe...!
Emma: (Ah, there he is.)
Emma: (Wait, he's dipping the gem in some kind of suspicious liquid...!?)
Canaan: Oh, Mel. I'm going to go have some snacks. Wanna come with?
Mel: Ab-so-lute-ly not! I'm in the middle of something. Could've figured that out if you used your eyes.
Canaan: Sigh. Volks really has you in the palm of his hand, huh?
His murmurs never reached Mel's ears. Instead, Mel sent a wicked grin towards the gem, which was now soaked in that suspicious liquid.
Mel: Hehe...! This time... this time, I'm gonna get to the bottom of this...!

Afterwards... I left Mel so I could take care of my duties, then met with Volks-san ahead of him.
Volks: How is Mel doing?
Emma: He's fighting with that gem as if it wronged his parents...
Volks: Heh, I see.
(Mel enters)
Mel: Hah... hah...
Emma: Mel, are you okay!?
Volks: I see you're having quite a struggle. Why don't you lift your physical form and give yourself a short break?
Mel: ...I'm fine. Just so you know, I'm not giving up even for a second. I've still got a hundred more things I haven't tried yet.
Volks: Is that so? Hats off to your efforts and perseverance.
Mel: Hah? What, were you being sarcastic 'cause I can't make a single chip?
Volks: No, that was genuine praise.
Volks: I believe that tenacity of yours is a quality on par with the finest of artisans.
Mel: ......O-Oh yeah?
Mel: Well? I mean, so what? Not like I'm an artisan or anything.
Emma: (Despite what he says, he's totally oozing with happiness...)
Mel: Anyway, there's something I wanted to make sure of. You didn't give me an unchippable gem for this competition, right?
Volks: Of course not.
Mel: Really? 'Cause, like, this gem is so hard—
Volks: Mel, what does beauty mean to you?
Volks: What would you consider the most beautiful jewel?
Mel: Hah? What's with you and randomly asking things that don't make sense?
Volks: I am asking because it's an important matter.
Volks: What does your idea of the ideal jewel look like? Could you try giving it a little thought?
Mel: Yeah, yeah. You're just saying all that to get my opinion, right?
Volks: Perceive it that way if you wish.
Mel: ......
Mel: Then...
Mel: I want to witness perfect beauty, even if it's just once.
Mel: A radiance so perfect, you can't find a single thing to complain about. If there exists a jewel that has that—
Mel: I... want to see it with my own eyes.
Mel's voice is barely above a whisper. At that moment...
(Drop!)
Emma: Huh? The thing that fell just now—
Volks: Oh my. It seems that the excess of its surface has chipped off.
Mel: Y-You're right! But why now...?
Volks: Perhaps this raw gem is responding to your wish to witness a perfect radiance.
Mel: ......
Mel: I don't like that I'm saying this now, but... looks like it's not impossible to polish after all.
Mel: See that, Volks! I'm totally going to win this competition!
Volks: I'm looking forward to it.
Encouraged by the change that the gem underwent, Mel began polishing it with even more passion.
As to not disturb his concentration, I started talking to Volks-san with a lowered voice.
Emma: ...Volks-san. What happened with his gem just now?
Volks: You see, that uncut gem has the unique characteristic of shining in accordance with the wishes of the one who polishes it.
Emma: ! So... The wish Mel made just now reached the gem?
Volks: Yes. It's a tricky gemstone that even the best jewelers struggle with...
Volks: But just as I had hoped, he possesses a great power.
From beside us, Mel wore a serious look on his face as he excitedly polished the gem.
And it shone as radiantly as any jewel.

“Out of the Key”
Emma: Mel, could you come out of the key?
After Volks-san asked me to arrange a place to speak with Mel, I was trying to call him from inside the key.
Emma: (No answer... I'm sure he can hear me, though.)
(Mel appears)
Mel: ......What? Something you need from me?—ah!
Mel: ...You're here too, Volks?
Volks: Yes. I asked Emma to summon you for me.
Mel: You did, for me? O-Oh really? ....So what, you want my opinion on something again?
Volks: No, I wanted to thank you for your assistance with coordinating that outfit the other day.
Volks: Mel, this is for you.
Mel: Hm...? Uh, isn't that the garbage gem you showed us before? I don't want it.
Mel: You're gonna force something on me that's not just worthless, but garbage too? This is far beyond nonsense now, it's total harassment.
Volks: Hehe, you misunderstand.
Volks: As a jewel appraiser, I can assure you: this gemstone is an extremely valuable jewel.
Mel: ...Hmph! Trying to fool me? Not happening. If this garbage gem's a jewel, then the whole world must be full of jewels too.
Mel: Ah-ah! I shouldn't have even bothered coming out of my key if it was just for this.
Emma: (It seems like he's in better spirits, a little bit... but he's more combative than usual.)
Volks: Mel, I have a proposal.
Volks: Would you agree to a competition with me?
Mel: ...Hah? Competition? What made you bring that up?
Volks: Please, give me a chance to explain first.
Volks: I'd like for you to polish this uncut gem into a proper jewel, using your own hands.
Mel: !?
Volks: When you are done polishing it―if it even remotely changes your values, then I win. If nothing happens, you win.
Volks: What do you say?
Mel: Uh, I-I'm not sure―
Volks: Ah, of course, as far as polishing is concerned―it will be deemed acceptable as long as it holds a shape. This is your first time, after all.
Mel: Er, I'm just confused. There's no reason for me to agree to this in the first place.
Volks: That is a fair reaction. This does demand quite a bit of your time and energy.
Volks: Therefore, I'll present a few conditions that may motivate you.
Mel: Conditions...?
Volks: In the event that you win, I will accept your argument and consider all uncut gems present at the scene to be garbage.
Volks: They'll be deemed worthless, just as you say. No processing will be done.
Mel: ......
Emma: (Volks-san...?)
Mel: ...Are you sure? Is it fine for a jewel appraiser to be saying that?
Volks: Well, this is a competition. Between your values and mine.
Mel: ...If you're that serious, then I'll accept. You're not going to back out and say "Actually nevermind" now right?
Volks: Of course not. I'm looking forward to seeing you make full use of your knowledge and insight to tackle this challenge.

Under Volks-san's guidance, Mel immediately got to work polishing the uncut gemstone.
Mel: Polishing just one gem? Piece of cake. I'll make you regret underestimating me as an amateur.
Volks: Heh, the thrill is all mine.
Mel: ...Huh? I'm polishing this gem plenty, but I can't smooth it down at all.
Mel: Hey, Volks! This sanding tool is faulty, isn't it?
Volk: Oh? But I acquired it just recently.
Mel: Eh? Then maybe I've got to use more force―
(Clatter!)
Mel: Egh!?
Emma: (The tool broke...!?)
Mel: A-All from this drab, worthless gem...! Agh, this is so annoying!
Mel: Fine, I'll just smash it with a hammer first―
Emma: Mel!? That'll crack the inside too...!
Volks: It's all right, Emma. For now, let's just watch over his work.
Emma: ...O-Okay. I understand.
Mel: Okay, first I'll clamp the gem into the vise... There. Get ready, you drab gem! Hup!!
(Thud!)
Mel: ...No way!?
Mel: I can't believe the hammer couldn't crack it either... There's not even a scratch!
Undeterred, Mel went on to test out every lapidary tool he could find in the workshop.
And still, that raw gemstone wouldn't budge one bit.
Volks: Mel, I take it you need a hint?
Mel: N-No, I don't!
Mel: I know this isn't a normal rock, so I've just gotta polish it in a way that's not normal either!
Mel: I swear! I'll get this thing all polished up!!
Mel shouts at the top of his lungs, while bending his upper body further back than ever.
Emma: (Rather than motivated, he seems really worked up over this.)
Emma: (Anyway, I'll keep watching over him...!)

"If this garbage gem's a jewel, then the whole world must be full of jewels too."
I'm not sure that I conveyed this line properly: he's supposed to be distinguishing raw/uncut gemstones from polished gemstones.

Mel ✦ Beginning of a Bond (04)
[01] [02] [03] [XX] [05] [06] [07]
“More Perfect Than Perfect”
[Mel's POV]
――The boy I once gave my blessings to was the son of an aristocrat's mistress.
Boy's Mother: You must become a flawless and perfect heir. This will prevent you from being condemned as an illegitimate son.
His mother kept him under constant supervision, raising him with a strict and disciplined hand. One day, for example...
Boy's Mother: Your private tutor informed me that you've been falling asleep during lectures, yes?
Boy's Mother: Your father would be upset if he found out. Do not let this happen again. Is that understood?
All the servants of their estate were on his mother's side. If there was anything he did inadequately, she would be notified immediately.
Maid: Madam, the young master――
Butler: I have a report about the young master.
Gardener: Keep this between us, but when I was in the garden earlier...
Be perfect. Be perfect. Be perfect...
Like a curse, those words controlled everything. Even so, he still tried to live his life as best as he could. Then one day...
A sudden tragedy changed the course of the boy's life.
Boy's Mother: ...Impossible! This is just terrible...! We've always said that my child will be the next successor!
――The father, who hadn't had any children since his marriage, now had a son born to his legal wife.
As the direct descendant, the younger brother would succeed the family. Their father determined that the older brother must now support his sibling.
Mad with rage, the mother directed her fury towards her own son.
Boy's Mother: I've raised you to be perfect... but in the end... you're just the lousy brother who failed!
Boy's Mother: I have no need for a... a son who can't be the successor―a son who's not perfect!!
Even though he got the best grades at school...
Even though he was admired by many...
He was not perfect, because he had one flaw: the inability to be the heir.
Boy: So that's why Mother abandoned me. If you're not perfect... you're worthless.
I couldn't do anything for that boy as he fell apart like that. So I'm... just as worthless.
And yet―
And yet, why does that man called Volks...
Why does he pour all that love into garbage gems? Why does he praise his flawed guild members so much?
Why does he look at someone worthless like me... as if he has high hopes for me?
I don't get it... I don't get it at all.

[Emma's POV]
Some time had passed since Mel shut himself in the key, and the outfit was safely delivered. But then―
(Mel appears)
Mel: ......
Emma: Ah... Mel! It's been a while. I was just about to make some tea. Want to join me?
Emma: I'll be sure to steep it the right way so that you're happy with it. I also have some sweets that Canaan-san shared with me.
Mel: ..........Steep it the right way, you said?
Mel: Your steeping methods and choice of teacup are so mediocre. It doesn't do justice to the tea at all.
Mel: I bet the sweets will just overpower the tea, so I'll pass. ...Later.
Emma: (He went back inside the key...)
Emma: (His criticism didn't seem that passionate either. I hope Mel's okay.)
Volks: I see Mel is glum as usual.
Emma: Volks-san...!
Volks: I just happened to be passing by and saw you two.
Emma: ! Oh, by the way... Is that gem in your hands the one Mel picked out before?
Volks: It is. I see you remembered.
Volks: Humor me, Mel. Out of these uncut gems, which one do you consider the most valuable? Mel: …You’re so pushy. Fine, whatever, I guess that one.
Volks: To tell you the truth, I was secretly elated the moment Mel chose this gem.
Emma: Huh?
Volks: It occurred to me that perhaps he has a great talent smoldering within him.
Emma: What do you mean?
Emma: To me, it looked like he just picked it by chance, without anything particular in mind...
Volks: ......
Volks: Emma, I have a favor I'd like to ask of you. Could you arrange a place for me to speak with Mel?

[TL Notes]
"More Perfect Than Perfect" The title of this chapter (完璧の上にも完璧に, lit. "Perfect on top of perfect") is likely skewed from the Japanese proverb, "Three years on top of a stone" (石の上にも三年), which means that sitting on a cold stone for three years will make it warm. In other words, that patience and perseverance will lead to success. This connection is reinforced by the fact that Volks views Mel as an 石 (stone/gem) to be polished.

“Outfit Check”
A few days after Volks-san asked for our opinions on his debutante commission――
Emma: Volks-san, I heard you finished putting the final look together.
Volks: Yes. I'm certain it will turn out wonderfully.
Volks: I apologize for taking your time, but would you be willing to participate in the final check?
Emma: Yes, of course!
Volks: Thank you. Is that alright with you, Mel?
Mel: ...You'll never be able to make it perfect anyway.
Mel: Well, I guess I'll help you. Just so you don't embarrass yourself, Volks.
Heading further in, I find a beautiful mannequin fully styled from head-to-toe.
Emma: Wow. Canaan-san's ring and Adel-san's gown match the concept so well. They really complete the look!
Mel: Hm...
Mel: ! Ah, ah, right here! There's still some basting thread left on the hem. If you forgot and delivered it like that, you'd totally get laughed at.
Mel: And the gem in the ring has a small smudge on it. Make sure it gets polished properly. This is total nonsense.
Emma: Mel, we're just discussing the overall impression of the dress today. All those little details will be checked before it gets delivered――
Mel: Hah~? I'm just mentioning them because I noticed them. You can appreciate my input without brushing it off.
Volks: Thank you for pointing those out, Mel. Though... don't you think the pieces those two made are just wonderful?
Volks: These results sufficiently meet the expectations for this commission. Excuse my boasting, but this is just what you'd expect of Dream Weavers' meisters.
Mel: ......
Mel: ...Really? Are you blind or something, Volks? All I see are a bunch of flawed screw-ups.
Mel: Like, Canaan's as fickle as they come and slacks off every chance he gets. Even by my standards, Adel is so haughty it gets on my nerves.
Mel: Merryrose doesn't look like it, but he has a filthy mouth. His looks are totally deceiving.
Mel: Look around! All of you are so full of flaws, you're nowhere near perfect!
Emma: ...Are they really flaws? Can't you call those quirks?
Mel: Quirks? These are things that need to be fixed. They're flaws through and through.
Mel: And this outfit you put together? Whoever's going to be wearing it won't be perfect anyway.
Mel: So no matter what you do, it'll never be perfect.
Mel: Meaning it's all worthless in the end!! Good job on all your wasted efforts!
Emma: (I wonder why Mel is so fixated on "perfection"...)
Volks: ......
Mel: ...What, Volks? Why are you just staying quiet?
Mel: If you want to argue, throw it at me! I mean, not a single perfect thing exists in this world, though!
Volks: No. It's only right to respect your opinion. I have no objections to that...
Volks: I'm just curious, Mel. From the way you talk, you sound as if you're telling yourself that you're not perfect―
Volks: In other words, that you're worthless. Why is that?
Mel: !!
Mel: ......
Emma: Mel? What's wrong? Are you okay?
Mel: ...So what if that's how it is?
Mel: Perfect things don't exist. So I'm not perfect either.
Mel: I'm worthless too...!
(Mel retreats into the key)
Emma: Mel...!?
Mel suddenly let out an emotional tone of voice.
Emma: (What exactly... is Mel dealing with...?)
Volks-san and I silently fix our gazes on the key he disappeared into.

Mel ✦ Beginning of a Bond (02)
[01] [XX] [03] [04] [05] [06] [07]
“A Scathing Lunch”
After the incident with those jewels――
Mel: Hey, Volks. Who made this tea? You know it's not aromatic at all, right?
Emma: I-I did.
Emma: (Well, I just quickly made it for myself...)
Mel: The way you brewed it was way too careless. Totally worthless to drink tea like this, don't you think?
Mel: Also, those flowers sitting over there? They don't match this space at all.
Mel: The colors clash with the furniture around them, and they're not vibrant enough. Shouldn't you throw them away? They're worthless, anyway.
Emma: (Some of the subordinates sent those flowers...)
Emma: Mel, those flowers will be properly displayed later―
Volks: Is this better, then?
Emma: Huh?
Volks-san picks up the flowers and moves them next to the stairs.
Volks: Placing them here creates a visual balance and brings out their vibrance, no?
Mel: Mgh. S-Still! Those flowers were an ugly choice to begin with!
Just like that, Mel found a routine of profusely criticizing anything he could in front of Volks-san.

Then one day during lunch...
Mel: Cough, cough! ...This food has way too much spice in it. Is something wrong with the chef's nose or something?
Emma: Really? I heard they're famous for their spicy food.
Mel: People are grateful for this? That's some real nonsense. Shows you the worth of everyone that comes here just to eat this.
Emma: Mel, you're going too far.
Volks: Hm... Indeed, the smell of spices filling the restaurant is rather intense.
Volks: It's understandable why someone with acute senses might find it upsetting.
Mel: ! Look at that, Master. Guess I was right, huh? Anyone enjoying this food has got to be off their rocker.
Volks: However, Mel, taste and scent preferences vary substantially. No matter how worthless you deem something...
Volks: Plenty of others may not agree with you. Like myself and Emma, for example.
Mel: ...! H-Hmph!
(Mel retreats into the key)
Emma: I'm sorry about him... It seems like he's felt competitive towards you ever since that incident the other day.
Volks: There's no need for you to apologize. Besides, that resistance of his is just a part of his growth.
Volks: Although... hmm...
Volks: If that's how he feels about me, I feel all the more inclined to polish him.
Emma: ....?

One day, as this back-and-forth of theirs went on...
Volks: We received a commission from Gloria, the Land of Prestige, to style a princess for her debutante ball.
Emma: Debutante... That's a party celebrating someone's debut into high society, right?
Volks: Yes. Per the client's wishes, it must be perfect in every sense.
Volks: Thus, I'd like to hear opinions from both of you: Emma, since you're the same gender, and Mel, for your sharp insight. What do you say?
Mel: Ahaha! It must be perfect? That doesn't exist in this world! Guess they don't know that, huh?
Emma: (He's throwing his head back even more than usual today...)
Mel: Hehe... But, you know... if Volks says he desperately needs my help, I guess there's no helping it, huh?
Volks: I appreciate your help, Mel. Now, without further ado...
Volks: I've arranged an outfit sample. Do have a look.
Emma: Wow! It's so lustrous. That's the perfect outfit for debuting in high society!
Mel: Hmm... Well, maybe it'd be fine for an average girl. But won't a princess be wearing it? Total nonsense.
Mel: It just doesn't make a statement. I mean, it'd be different if the princess was totally plain and wanted to blend in with everyone else.
Emma: (He's as harsh as ever...)
Volks: Aside from the comments regarding the princess herself, I appreciate your honest opinion. Is anything else of concern to you?
Mel: Yeah, yeah. You need me to explain all the places you botched, right? First of all――
Afterwards, Mel rattled off harsh criticisms of each little thing...
With a smile appearing on his face, Volks-san seemed very content listening to Mel.

Mel ✦ Beginning of a Bond (01)
[XX] [02] [03] [04] [05] [06] [07]
“A Thorough Critique”
If you're beautiful, you'll be envied. If you're brave, you'll get injured.
If you're kind, you'll get taken advantage of. If you're wise, you'll become a coward.
See? It's all pointless, isn't it?

One day, I was working as the guildkeeper for Dream Weavers.
Emma: Volks-san, I brought the documents you asked for.
Volks: Thank you. I imagine it was a hassle for you.
Emma: Not at all. If there's anything I can do, just let me know.
Emma: ——! Wow, those are beautiful. Are these uncut gems?
Volks: Yes. They give off a lovely color, don't they? They still have yet to be polished, but these stones are certainly promising.
(Mel comes out of the key)
Mel: Heh~? These are the gems you think are promising, Volks?
Emma: Mel?
The dark fairy who appeared from my key, Mel, draws his attention to Volks-san's hands, while striking his signature eccentric pose.
Volks: Oh my. Are you interested in these gemstones as well?
Mel: Well, in a way, I guess. I'm just amazed by how blatantly obvious all their flaws are.
Volks: Oh? Flaws, you say?
Mel: Yeah, exactly. Look closer. Like, this gem—it's pretty at first glance, but there are tiny cracks in it.
Mel: And that gem has carbon in it, so it'd still be a low-grade product even if it got polished.
Mel: Sigh, I can't believe this. What a load of nonsense.
Emma: (The cracks... are those fissures, right? And carbon should mean――)
Volks: That is one of the main factors contributing to its lowered value.
Taking a look at the gemstone Mel pointed at, there were indeed black spots in some areas of the crystal.
Volks: Heh, you are well-informed with a sharp eye, Mel.
Mel: Obviously I'd know this much. There'd have to be something seriously wrong with you if you didn't.
Emma: (I just realized this, but Mel is always in that pose when he talks. I wonder if it ever gets uncomfortable for him...)
Mel: Anyway, so? Why's the top meister of Dream Weavers, a jewel appraiser no less, wasting time on these garbage gems?
Volks: Heh, these gems are certainly not garbage, Mel.
Volks: It's true that they are uncut gemstones with some flaws, but...
Volks: Take this vibrant stone for example. A few cracks don't render it completely worthless.
Volks: Considering the qualities of the gem, it's best to polish it into a freeform stone. This not only removes the cracks, but also imparts a distinctive character to the stone.
Mel: ......
Volks: Even the gem with carbon inclusions is otherwise highly transparent and beautiful.
Volks: The inclusions themselves are quite minute. With careful planning of the cutting process, I fully believe we'd be able to adorn it with decorations and other pieces.
Emma: I see... It all depends on how it's processed.
Volks: Precisely. My opinion is that placing arbitrary values on anything will only cheat you out of many opportunities.
Mel: Hmph~? But in the end, aren't you just forcing a worthless gem to be useful to you?
Mel: You can cover it up all you want, a garbage gem is still a garbage gem. All things are worthless if they're not perfect, in my opinion!
Emma: (He's posing with his head thrown back again...)
Volks: ......
Volks: Humor me, Mel. Out of these uncut gems, which one do you consider the most valuable?
Mel: Hah? Like I said, they're all the same. All garbage since they're full of flaws. Imperfect things are worthless.
Volks: Well, they're still uncut, after all. They won't be perfect at the beginning.
Volks: Even so, could you try to pick one for me?
Mel: ...You're so pushy. Fine, whatever, I guess that one.
Mel gestures at one as if he doesn't care that much. Out of all the gemstones, it's the plainest-looking one.
Volks: Heh. You truly do have a good eye.
Mel: H-Hah!? I mean, I do have pretty good eye... That's plain obvious.
Mel: But I just picked that one at random? You're pretty wishy-washy yourself, Volks!
No matter what biting words Mel spits out, Volks-san maintains his calm composure.
I could tell that Mel was growing somewhat exasperated with Volks-san's nonchalance.

Kuchen Hangout Lines ✦ Beginning of a Dream
Affection Lv. 0-3
Start Hangout “So now I’m going out with you outside of work, huh... Well, I guess I’ll just escort you for now.”
On Choosing Chocolate Making Tools (Tap)
First or second interaction
“Spatulas are flexible and heat-resistant. They can scrape your food with minimal waste and they're easy to use.” “Pick a sifter with a fine mesh. That way, you'll get a smooth consistency when you mix in any powders.” “Make sure to have several different sized bowls on hand. There’ll be plenty of chances to use them.”
Keep interacting
“I mean, your tools are important but... the most essential part of chocolate-making is putting in effort everyday.” “Especially with tempering―that's something you've gotta keep practicing over and over, drilling it into your head.” “Just get a move on for now. Improve your skills and I'll give you some quality tools as a reward.”
Fix His Tie (Drag)
First or second interaction
“Oh, my tie was crooked? I thought you finally came over to strangle me. ――Kidding. Appreciate you fixing it.” “Oh, thanks. You know, you take things really seriously, or maybe you just love to help. ...I mean that as a compliment.” “It got loose...? Since when? Sometimes I don't notice when I'm focused on working.”
Keep interacting
“...Oi, you can leave it be now. It looks good enough.” “Alright, how about I do something for you now? C'mon, get over here.” “...Your hair. It's a little tousled. Okay, there you go―what's that face for? What'd you think I was gonna do?”
Ask About His Chest Brooch (Long Press)
First or second interaction
“This is the brooch I got from the first competition I ever won. I wear it so I don't forget my beginnings.” “Ahh, this? I've got a ton more, but the jingling would be distracting if I wore 'em all.” “I wear it because Oscar told me to. Pretty rich coming from someone as sloppy as him... But it is what it is.”
Keep interacting
“Awards just seem like things I just started getting all of sudden. I don't remember when or what I won.” “But I remember every chocolate submitted to each competition. Not just mine, but the others' too.” “I'd rather not compete if I can help it... Sure, it'd be motivating. But mine's already the best.”
Get Closer
“Heh~...? You’re pretty close. Trying to provoke me? Then first go do something about that blush of yours.” “...Hah. I know you're eager. You don't have to get that close.” “What'd you come up to me for, some kind of scolding? Cuit and Riche already lecture me enough. Another time.”
End Hangout “Come with me after this. 'Where are we going?'...? Just the kitchen. I came up with some new ideas to make.”
Affection Lv. 4-7
Start Hangout “Leave it to me to decide where we go. I'm pretty sure I can give you a good time.”
“――Hah. What are you so tense for? Go back to how you usually are. You're even throwing me off balance.”
Ask About His Brothers (Tap)
First or second interaction
“Riche... ending up a sommelier was something I never expected. 'Cause he was a real delinquent back in the day...” “Cuit's a very capable chef. I'm not picking favorites or anything. He's just an incredible guy.” “They're great people. I think you'll get a lot more done if you helped them instead of worrying about me.”
Keep interacting
“It's kind of strange how the three of us still live in the same place now, just like before.” “I've never really acted like a big brother, not now and not before. If anything, I―no, nevermind.” “If you're asking whether I like them or not, obviously I like them. I've just never really thought about it.”
Touch His Hands (Drag)
First or second interaction
“Oh? Trying to make a move on me? But with a childish technique like that──ow! Don't pinch me...” “My hands are the only part of myself I take good care of. You can't make good chocolate without nice, neat hands.” “You wanna hold hands? Go for it. So what if people get the wrong idea? Stop worrying about every little thing.”
Keep interacting
“Oi, that's enough. How long are you gonna keep staring for? Let's get a move on.” “Hm? 'But we're still holding hands'? Weren't you the one who started touching me first? Now you're embarrassed?” “Haha, where'd your usual energy go? ...Yeah, that's more like it. Now let me say it again: ready to go on our date?”
Play Guess-the-Chocolate (Long Press)
First or second interaction
“I'm fine with whatever, just don't bring out anything gross... I'll be putting your tastes to the test too.” “──These are bonbons from a longstanding Chocolaberry brand. They're rich and fullbodied with no odd flavor profile.” “This is the ganache that won an award at a contest in Chocoluna before. Chocolatier royalty made this stuff.”
Keep interacting
“Satisfied? Alright then, it's your turn now. Let's see how well you've been studying.” “Hey... You can't chicken out at the last second. C'mon, open your mouth.” “So? ──Yeah, that's right. I made that chocolate. I bet it was so delicious, you could tell right away, huh?”
Get Closer
“............ Haha, don't look away. We were just getting in the right mood.” “What, trying to beg me for chocolate? I'll make some for you anytime you want. I really like seeing your face light up.” “I don't mind you staring at me, but could you please make a cuter face... Your eyebrows are all scrunched together.”
Affection Lv. 8-10
Ask About His Days Off (Tap)
First or second interaction
“My days off, huh...? I guess I don't really separate my work from my off-days. But you're the same way, aren't you?” “I make chocolate, obviously? Don't ask stupid questions.” “I've had girls come over sometimes... I'm sure you can imagine the rest. ...Haha, what? Are you jealous?”
Keep interacting
“I guess... I take a lot of walks when I have the time. I go wherever I feel like going.” “The park, the town, all kinds of places. The seeds of creativity are always dropping wherever I go.” “Oh, but lately, your face tends to pop up in my head whenever I'm taking a breather. The face of you eating my chocolate with a smile.”
Have Him Feed You His Homemade Chocolate (Drag)
First or second interaction
“Geez, I've got such a princess on my hands. Alright, I'll feed you, open your mouth. Say ahh...” “Here you go. ...Haha. Don't eat my fingers too! Y'know, your lips are really soft.” “Doing this kinda reminds me of feeding a wild animal. It's fun. Want some more?”
Keep interacting
“Hm? What're you getting embarrassed for? 'Hand me the chocolate, I'll eat it myself'?” “...Nope. I made this stuff, so you'll respect how I want it to be eaten.” “C'mon, it'll melt if you don't hurry. Just open your mouth again.”
Touch His Earring (Long Press)
First or second interaction
“Hey... your touch feels a little naughty there. I'm joking! Don't pull back your hand. Touch me as much as you want.” “Hm...? It's rare for you to show me some love――oh, guess that wasn't what you were doing.” “'Cuit and Riche wear similar stones'? Yeah, we got them from our parents.”
Keep interacting
“You keep prodding at it, do you like it that much?” “Well, this is the only one of its kind so you won't find any duplicates, but... what if I bought you something similar?” “There's no deep meaning behind it. You've done a lot around here, that's all. ...Ah, would it have been better if it had a meaning?”
Get Closer
“You're... my absolute favorite smell. It's like, everything feels right.” “You're as nervous as ever when we get close. But things are a little different these days. You wouldn't get mad if I touched you now... right?” “Hey, here's a chocolate. Just eat it. I wanna see my chocolate make you smile up close.”
End Hangout “...This might be the first time I found something besides chocolate that I never get tired of. Hm? Obviously I'm talking about you.”
“That's it for today, bye-bye! Only a child would think we'd end things just like that. ...Neither of us are satisfied yet, right?”

Sparrow Hangout Lines ✦ Fairy Marriage
Sparrow
Start Hangout “I-I'm a little scared to go somewhere that has people... but I'm excited to go out with you.”
“Th-Thanks for inviting me out. I was just in a creative slump for accessory ideas, so... this will be a nice break.”
“Lorea flowers are... very beautiful. If I ever found them somewhere... I'd want to... g-give them to you as a present.”
About Marriage “Weddings are not only fun for the two vowing their love, but for everyone in attendance too? What's so great about them...?”
Choice: A lot of happiness is in the air.
“Happiness, huh...? I don't really get it, but... if you ever married someone and held a ceremony, maybe I'd understand then.” “If you decided to start a new life of happiness with someone... I bet it'd cause an uproar inside our key...” “I don't have any good memories with marriage, so I don't recommend it... but I wouldn't stop you. I just... want you to be happy.”
Choice: The bride and groom are dressed their best.
“It's true I couldn't get enough of seeing those beautiful outfits and accessories... I might be... interested in that.” “Do you dream of wearing a beautiful bridal outfit? A dress...? A kimono...? I'm sure you'd look amazing in anything...” “...I hope one of my handmade accessories can be a part of your finest attire someday, Emma-san.”
About the Contest “If this was before I met you... you'd never catch me in a bridal contest... no way...”
Choice: Are there any other contests you're interested in?
“Now that I'm a little more confident in this... maybe I'd like to take part in one for making or designing accessories.” “And hotel mascot contests... I heard you can get a luxurious hotel stay prize if you win.” “If I won and got the luxury hotel stay, I'd give it to you, Emma-san. As thanks for always being so nice to me...”
Choice: You've changed in a good way.
“I-I changed——I was changed thanks to you and Victor, I think.” “I'm still scared of people, and I can't honestly believe in a lot of things, but... I believe in you with all my heart.” “I-I'll keep working hard... so that I can stand next to you with confidence someday. It'd make me happy if... you kept watching over me.”
Initiate Physical Contact “Will someone like me be able to escort you, Master...? I'm nervous but... I'll give it a try.”
Lay your hand on top of his “! I-I'm a little on edge but... your warmth is so relaxing...”
Pet his tail “It helps me calm down a little to hug it when I'm anxious... If something ever happens, you can squeeze it too, if you want.”
End Hangout “It was so fun walking next to you just like the bride and groom... ――You had fun too, Master? ...Thank goodness.”
“This really cleared up my head... N-Next time I'm in a slump or something... I'd love to go out again.”
“I'd like to go out with you this way all the time... whether it's clear or rainy...”

Machu Hangout Lines ✦ Fairy Marriage
Machu
Start Hangout “Hey... Are you sure you're okay with me? I-I'm not opposed, it's just... when it's just the two of us, I feel kinda overwhelmed with different feelings...”
“I-Is this distance okay? I'm not too close? I'm not... growing any gloomy mushrooms, am I?”
“Hahhhhh.... It's no use... No matter how many times we've gone out together, my eyes can't get used to the radiance of seeing you run towards me...!”
About Marriage “A wedding is supposed to be the greatest day of your life. No matter how I think about it, a gloomy shroomhead like me isn't cut out for that kinda thing...”
Choice: I'm curious about your performance.
“Ergh... A natural-born introvert performing at a celebration... I can feel my spores flying just thinking about it...” “There's no way I could do this in front of all those other people... but if I'm just showing you... maybe I could practice... a plate-spinning trick under my umbrella.” “If you're excited about it, I've gotta make sure I deliver... Yeah. If I go ahead with the performance, would you... join me for practice... and stuff?”
Choice: Your wedding outfit looks good on you.
“Y-You think so? Thanks... I thought it was a little too out there, but... I see... hehe.” “Even if you're just being polite, getting a compliment from you makes me happy... ....Huh? That wasn't just to be nice!?” “I-I said this earlier, but I think you're the one that looks really good. Um... you're very pretty.”
About the Contest “I can't watch things like comedy contests, they make my heart pound too hard... ...How do you feel about them?”
Choice: I like watching people trying their best.
“Ahh... Yeah, that sounds like you. For me... it's hard to watch people try hard and still fail...” “...Eh? You see me trying my best too? R-Really... Not that I was trying that hard on purpose... or anything.” “But... you're the one who's working the hardest, right...? I'm always watching you, so I started to tell.”
Choice: I want to support the contestants.
“It's not just at weddings or contests—you're always supporting someone, even at work... You must really like doing it.” “I have too much on my plate, so I can't do the same as you. ...Um, I think you're amazing.” “I think... if it's for you, even I could put in a little effort... probably. So let me know if you need an extra hand.”
Initiate Physical Contact “A-Am I... sprouting mushrooms or something? I get embarrassed when you stare at me so hard...”
Link arms “U-UWAH...!? Sorry for yelling. I didn't expect you to get this close... urk... oh no, I'm getting a nervous sweat...”
Fix his collar “It kind of feels like I'm your groom now. ...Wait, uwah! I didn't say that! That was probably so creepy, forget what I said!”
End Hangout “I put my all into this, thinking of it as practice for escorting you... Did I do it alright...? Not too shabby?”
“...Even going outside feels like a nice thing when I'm with you. I'm just a gloomy shroomhead, but... if it's okay with you, could you invite me out again?”
“...To be honest, that was insanely fun. I hope I get to walk next to you again someday... or something.”

Our Future ✦ Dialogue Lines (Pt. 1)
✦ Limited-time dialogues for June Bride. ✦ Part 1 includes meisters from Primus Club, Gastronomy, Dream Weavers, Everflower, Passionate Ocean, and Maden Gaming.
Primus Club
Camus “Just like a card faced down, no one knows what the future holds. But you're well aware that the path I'm on is full of thorns. And yet, you still choose to walk alongside me... You must be mad. Please never stop betting your brilliant life on me.”
Seven “You want us... to be each other's significant others...? Well...... I've always considered you someone very significant to me... [Name]. My heart feels warm every time I hear that name. I can't go without you... not now, not ever. I'd like to keep having fun with you.”
Ymir “Struggle all you want, I'm not leaving you for as long as I live. Claw at me, bite me, I'll still never let you go ♪ I'm not scheming anything. I really do love you, [Name]. And that'll never change... because you're the only one 'special' to me.”
Victor “Hah... I really have changed, haven't I? Before I met you, I hardly ever thought about the future. Now, all I can think about is... how can I stay with [Name] forever?”
Len “Hell if I know what the future looks like. I just know you're still gonna come after me wherever I am, no matter what I'm doing. ...Well, do what you want. If you decide to follow me around for the rest of your life, I'll make sure you're prepared for that.”
Gastronomy
Oscar “I never thought a day would come in which eating alone no longer satisfies me. Even I'm deeply shocked. Whether it's morning, afternoon, or evening—whenever I'm having a meal, I wish to see your smiling face across from me. How does that sound?”
Kuchen “The future? ...No, I can't really picture anything except making chocolate for the rest of my life. You know what I'm saying, right? I also see you right there next to me. Still smiling, happily eating my chocolates. Years pass, decades pass, and things'll probably stay just like that.”
Cuit “Nothing makes me happier than seeing a smile pop up on your face when you eat my food. All I want is for you to stay by my side, letting me see your smile. I really can't wait for the day I get to call you my wife.”
Riche “Every time I see how ardently you work, day in and day out... I suddenly find myself envisioning a little into the future. You are all the more beautiful, and your heart remains as honest as ever. I'm beside you, always worried... if I'm worthy of someone like yourself.”
Walter “...I have no idea about the future. If I could, I'd stay in Gastronomy for a long time, helping out the duke and everyone else. Hm? Nothing... I just naturally thought you'd stay by my side. Way, way into the future...”
Dream Weavers
Canaan “When I'm with you, your squishy cheeks put me right at ease... I wonder why? All my motivation starts flowing through me. Maybe I can't live without you. It sounds like a headache looking after me for a lifetime, but... hehe. I'll have to give the best ring in the world to the bride who makes that kind of promise to me.”
Adel “In the past, I wouldn't have needed an assistant or partner. But now when I imagine the future, you're there, as if it's the most natural thing. The thought of us buried in work, eating together, occasionally lending each other a shoulder, taking naps——heh, a lifetime of that doesn't sound half bad.”
Volks “If I must confess, I've been enchanted since we first met... by your light, which I'm certain will continue to change endlessly. I want it to be my own two hands that guide and protect your brilliance, no one else's. Would you allow me the privilege and honor of that?”
Merryrose “Before I met you, I swear I couldn't see anything in my future except a really dark path. Now I know a kind of happiness that I won't let go of no matter what. You're the one who taught it to me. Take responsibility for that... and spend your life with me, okay?”
Everflower
Asahi “You're the one I cherish above all others, the one I want to protect. I'm still an amateur with a lot of shortcomings, but... someday... I'd like to tie the knot and build a happy future together. I might be moving too fast, but... what do you think?”
Shiranui “I'm gonna say what I always do, okay? Fortune comes in at the merry gate!! It's true life's not all just fun and games. But you and I can make it alright. We can live our days full of blessings, where even if we cry sometimes, we'll still end up laughing. Cheers to our happiness!”
Mikage “My ideal future? That's easy—a life where I spend all day everyday dozing off on your lap, doing absolutely nothing... Until recently, this would've just been a pipe dream. But now, well, I really want it. A happy 'n peaceful married life.”
Tamayura “I want to make this world a place for humans and mononoke to live together in harmony. When I achieve my dream, I'd be happy if you were there smiling next to me. And... if a day ever comes when we pledge our futures to each other... I'd want to invite a bunch of mononoke friends to celebrate with us.”
Aoi “Something as definite as 'staying the same' forever sounds so boring. Being able to wake up from your dreams is what makes it so fleeting and beautiful... That's what I used to think... But when I wake up from my transient dreams, I think I'd like to be with you. Hey, won't you be mine?”
Passionate Ocean
Searle “I get warm and fuzzy and sometimes so tight it hurts. Feeling like I'm in love just gets stronger and stronger when I'm with you. It's a feeling I only get with you, [Name]. It's just like a treasure to me. Ehehe, I love you. And I will forever and ever!”
Sheila “I've been thinking about this a lot, but the coffee you make tastes like something I'd want to drink everyday. It really is so relaxing and soothing. From now on... or rather, for as long as I live, I'd love to stay in your care. What do you think?”
Elma “A lot of stuff's happened since we first met. My days have gotten a whole lot happier since then. It's like a huge wave of happiness is here! Now, in the future, and always after that... Let's have a blast ridin' out the end of this wave!!”
Urbano “Yo, [Name]-han! Time to practice our husband-and-wife routine with all the hype we got today——wait, why do you actually sound on-board with it!? Pause, pause. I can't even joke about being legal spouses, 'cause that's like we already got married. It makes me so happy I'm embarrassed...”
Maden Gaming
Cinis “It is my duty as master to care for and look after my servants——however, at present, I've been getting a lot of favors from you. Hehehe, just so you know, I despise losing! I shall vow to make you happy for the rest of your life!”

Cuit Hangout Lines ⟡ Beginning of a Dream
⚠️ I referenced the JP wiki for these lines. It's possible there might be some discrepancies with the in-game dialogue.
Affection Lv. 0-3
Start Hangout “I hope I get some good ideas... Truth is, I have no clue what to do for Oscar-san’s meal tomorrow.”
Talk About Last Night’s Dinner (Tap)
First or second interaction
“I get so nervous whenever I serve Oscar-san... In a good way, of course.” “Wanna know the secret ingredient to my dinner last night? Well, I added a teeny bit of berries to the sauce for the meat.” “Hehe, could you tell it was a Ricordo local speciality? I thought it'd nice to have something like that once in a while.”
Keep interacting
“Ahaha, was it that good? You always eat my food with a smile, so that makes me very happy.” “I want to keep making food that makes people happy when they eat it. I'm not just talking about customers...” “Oh, right, is there anything you want to eat tomorrow? I’ll use it as a reference for the menu.”
Play Shiritori¹ (Drag)
First or second interaction
“Soup... pudding... G? Grati... no, nevermind.” “Can I play one that might be a little hard? Appetizer. How about it? ...I could think of one.” “Sugar... Worcestershire sauce... Ah, you can't say vinegar, okay?” (Original words: satou, usutāsōsu, su)
Keep interacting
“Hehe, take your time. I have no problem with culinary-themed shiritori, but are you doing okay?” “Huh? You’re learning from this? You’re pretty engaged. I gotta follow your lead too. Okay, let’s keep going.” “My turn? Gelato. It's to. What’ll your reply be?”
Readjust His Brooch (Long Press)
First or second interaction
“My guild emblem... I’m very proud to be working under Oscar-san.” “Ahh... Was it a little crooked? Thanks for noticing that for me.” “Thank you. Would've been terrible if that fell off... Hehe, that kind of tickles.”
Keep interacting
“You’re very careful in putting it on. Thank you. This is something very precious to me.” “A medal is a sign of recognition... Every time I look at this, I’m reminded that I made it here, in my own way.” “Of course, I still have to work hard, but I need to aim even higher.”
Get Closer
“Uhm... Is something wrong? Er, you’re a little too close, what’s going on...?” “Wah! What’s wrong? You’re closer than usual, so that startled me a little.” “......... Hehe, it’s like we’re having a staring contest, huh?”
End Hangout “Oh, look at the time. We should head back now. This walk helped clear my head.”
Affection Lv. 4-7
Start Hangout “Since we're heading out and all, maybe I should’ve made some snacks?”
“Huh? I’ve got bags under my eyes? I got totally caught up in making sauce yesterday... I guess I was working late into the night.”
Ask For Cooking Tips (Tap)
First or second interaction
“I think it’s important to find delicious foods. I get really happy whenever I find a dish that makes me think, 'I want to recreate that taste.'” “It’s important to get used to making something. Practice it over and over until it tastes good! Hehe, you can do it.” “Always measure your ingredients exactly. The measurements written in recipes have been tested for the best taste.”
Keep interacting
“You want to hear my personal tips? Hmm... I guess, cook while imagining someone’s smile as they’re eating.” “You know, I’ve been cooking for my family for a long time. And I still get happy seeing them all enjoy my food.” “I want my food to make people happy... I think that sentiment is the best spice of all.”
Fix His Loose Tie (Drag)
First or second interaction
“Huh? Oh, I see, my tie was loose... I got a little startled when you suddenly started touching my neck.” “Thank you. Oscar-san might’ve scolded me if it stayed crooked.” “I really try to be careful. It just slips out of place as soon as I start moving around. I owe you one.”
Keep interacting
“You’re fixing it so thoroughly. I really admire that meticulous side of yours.” “......Huh? Do you not know what shape it was in originally?” “Even you have moments like these, huh? Hehe... Cute. This is perfect, thank you.”
Massage His Palms (Long Press)
First or second interaction
“Ah, are you giving me a massage? This makes me kind of happy. Thanks.” “Your hands are so soft. Mine have gotten rough and callused from holding frying pans and stuff.” “Hah~... This feels so good. I don’t usually pay that much attention, but I guess I was pretty tired.”
Keep interacting
“Maybe that’s enough for now. You’ve already soothed me plenty. Aren’t you tired now?” “Giving me a special service today...? It’s my lucky day. It feels so good when you’re touching my hands...” “Make sure to tell me when you get tired, okay? ’Cause I’ll give you a massage. ...Ah! Unless you don’t want me to.”
Get Closer
“It’s rare for you to get this close... No, it doesn’t bother me.” “Can I tell you a thought I had? You’re cute. Super cute... Oh, I’m not trying to butter you up or anything.” “Is there something stuck to my face? ...Oh, there’s not? Then... What’s going on?”
End Hangout “Do you have some time after this? I’ll whip up something simple and I’d love to have you try it.”
“I always feel so soothed when I’m with you... You’re like a vitamin to me.”
Affection Lv. 8-10
Start Hangout “Lately whenever I’m with you, I can’t stop coming up with dishes I want you to eat.”
“For some reason, you seem cuter than usual today... Is it your makeup? Hehe, I’m kind of getting butterflies.”
Ask for the Newest Restaurant Recommendations (Tap)
First or second interaction
“I heard from someone at the market that a restaurant with good seafood pasta popped up.” “Meat, veg, seafood, ethnic food... What kind of recommendation do you want? I’m always in the know about this.” “Wanna check out a place with tons of different desserts? It’s a huge hit with girls, and I’m curious about it myself.”
Keep interacting
“I have an idea! I’d love to take you to a good restaurant I know. What do you think?” “They’ve got delicious entrées and desserts. Plus the interior is pretty. I think girls would love this place.” “I’d like to hear your opinion too... I want to know what kinds of things you like more than anything.”
Hold His Hand (Drag)
First or second interaction
“Hm? Hehe... Sure, go ahead. Ah, can I fix my grip a little? I want a tight hold on your hand.” “I’m so happy. ’Cause you don’t usually do this type of thing, right?” “It puts me at so much ease when you hold my hand like this.”
Keep interacting
“Your hand is so warm. Huh? I can hold it tighter? Well... If you say so.” “You have this strange gentleness that feels like it’s wrapping me up. I can’t really put it into words...” “Also, I’m getting butterflies. I feel so happy... Am I the only one like this? How do you feel?”
Touch His Dark Circles (Long Press)
First or second interaction
“Hm...? What’s wrong? Wondering about my eyebags...? Sorry. Did I get you worried?” “Ahh, I got up kinda early this morning for cooking prep... *yawns*... Er, sorry I did that in front of you.” “Ah, found out I'm sleep deprived? I just got so many food ideas last night that I had to sort them out...”
Keep interacting
“You don’t have to worry that much. Ever since you came around, I’ve stopped forcing myself as much as before.” “Huh, you don’t believe me...? It’s true. Besides, I always have you backing me up.” “What about you? Are you sleeping well? You work yourself to the bone everyday... I’m the one who should be worried.”
Get Closer
“I wonder what you’re thinking about right now. I hope it’s me... Kidding.” “Feeling your warmth up close puts me right at ease... Hey, can you come closer to me?” “Doing this with you is starting to feel so routine to me. I even get uneasy when you’re not around.”
End Hangout “Honestly, I don’t want to go back just yet, but I have things that need to be done. But we’ll go out again for sure, okay?”
“Haha... That's the face of plain disappointment. But. I bet I’m more upset than you are. ...How ’bout we take the long way back?”

[TL Notes]
1 - Shiritori is a Japanese word game. Players take turns saying words that begin with the last syllable of the previous word. Playing a word that ends in "n" (ん) is an automatic loss.
This game doesn't translate well in English, so I decided to just translate each word literally and add the Japanese words in parentheses (if necessary).
