i don't think the portal games are "about" "smart home bad" i think that is frankly a mind bogglingly fucking stupid take on what they're "about." there's a lot going on in Portal and i will admit it's been a number of years since I've played either games but just going off my memory of them both I would say that like. personally I think it's about the trauma of experiencing misogyny and the way that misogyny replicates itself by enlisting those most violently punished by it into enforcing its standards. and that the series culminates in the tormented and traumatized woman main character (because lbfr GLaDOS is the main character) allows herself to accept that she was maltreated and, in return, refuses and repudiates the task that Gender has set out for her, freeing the player character, who is a racialized woman who was at the complete mercy of the main character, and urging her to see a future beyond the violence that they've both been subject to at the hands of chauvinist and idiotic men.

i think about that "the pop girlies yearn for espn" tweet a lot because like. everyone is so obsessed with stats now wrt music and like. sports is the ultimate stat play. there's stats about stats in sports. they make up new stats every single weekend in the nfl. "first player since the reagan administration born in the western part of the united states to throw for 25 touchdowns over 10 yards" "first player in the super bowl era to have a twin" like they just pull shit out of their asses for the sake of it and i think people obsessed with charts and sales would LOVE the nfl.

It’s 2025. BBC Sherlock ended 8 years ago. The last season was so bad the fans didn’t even want to talk about it when it came out. Occasionally a post resurfaces where we all laugh at struggling to plug our phones in and being called alcoholics. Every time, there are more and more people in the comments who don’t get the joke. There are two currently airing Sherlock Holmes audio dramas that both portray a queer Holmes (as well as several other excellent queer characters), and one of them now has Holmes and Watson in a canonical romantic relationship. There’s an adorable crowdfunded short film where Watson plans Holmes’ birthday party and they flirt with each other, share a bed, plan their retirement, and kiss on the mouth. A video game about retired beekeeper Holmes just released where he arranges a romantic picnic so he can finally tell Watson how he feels. A popular graphic novelist just released the first part of a queer comic book retelling of the complete Holmes canon and had to do several rounds of preorders because she kept selling out too fast. Sherlock is garbage and here’s why has 15 million views on YouTube. Nature is healing. ❤️🐝
