Btw a very big % of argentinians wear a red bracelet all the time as an old tradition/superstition since the day we are born (the first thing mothers do is tying the red ribbon on the baby's wrist). You are not supposed to take it off ever since it is an amulet for protection against mal de ojo, envy, and general bad energy. The only time you get a new one is if the previous one breaks off (which means it has protected you of a very bad situation that's when it breaks) so his previous one must have broken and he got a new one, extra thick for extra protection I guess (?) lmao
