Well... Now seems as good a time as any to say I am done covering royals.
In short I will no longer be using this tumblr. I will not delete it just for the sake that people can flick through it as a reference of sorts. The fact of the matter is that over this last year I have began to wonder why on one hand I want Scotland to be an independent nation and on the other I had a blog on British royals. And to be frank I spend most of my time on this blog trying to justify their existence. But I think I have finally come to accept the fact that I can't. The Queen does nothing and I really do mean nothing, how different would the world be if Queen Elizabeth wasn't in it. Harry and Princess Anne are the only decent ones out of the whole bunch. I'm actually a little embarrassed that I ever looked up to these people as some sort of role models. I think I had a very long royal phase and I have finally grown out of it. Like I say I will keep this tumblr open and I would just like to say that I have been a part of the internet royal fandom for many years and made some great friends and I don't regret that but I'm just done with the royals. They represent a system in which titles rather than good character is what defines a person and that's not me, that's not what I believe in. From this point on I will no longer refer to myself as a royalist, I am a Republican. Yes I said it.. I am now a Republican.

Scotland rejects Independence by 55%
Argh...... I am really disappointed but it is what it is. It seems that fear has won over hope. But at least we will get some new powers and at least this has taught Westminster never to underestimate the people of Scotland again.

Are you staying up all night to follow the process? Or are you heading to bed?
I haven't decided yet, I am off tomorrow so I could stay up but I did a 10 hour shrift today so I am pretty tried. I may stay up for another hour or so.

I hope that Scotland will become independent and I think that it would be better for your country in the long run. But I am slightly worried that it will be a harsh reality with the struggles of adjusting to being on your own in the nearest future (IF you get independence). I would imagine it is a bit like moving out of your parents' home, but on a much larger scale. UK probably won't lend support and I doubt that the Nordic countries are willing to embrace Scotland into their own family.
I totally agree and I'm not stupid, like Benjamin Fracklin said 'The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.'If it is a yes vote that wins tomorrow that is when the real works begins and the next 5-10 years will be hard but the Scots are a hard people and I have high hopes for a positive outcome.

forgive me for what might be a foolish question. but why can't Scotland become a republic before the death of QEII?
It could, but it's only because Queen Elizabeth's holds a special place in the hearts of Scots that I think it couldn't happen during her life time. it's really just my opinion.

If Scotland gets independe it is probably only a matter of a very short time before you'll be a republic, don't you think?
Well..... I don't want to get ahead of myself because we won't know Scotland's fate until the morning but realistically a referendum on whether or not we become a republic could only happen after Queen's Elizabeth death and I think the vote against the royals would win. The Scots just don't have the same emotional connection to the royals as the English do as displayed by the lack of street parties for the wedding and jubilee.

What will happen to royal titles if Scotland goes independent? good luck today!
Well... Given that we are still keeping the Queen as our head of state and she is the one who gave the titles I would assume that the titles are still valid.

Thanks so much, I've got my fingers and toes crossed. I've actually just come back from casting my vote. We will know the result tomorrow morning about 7am. Oh I can't wait!

Scottish Independence Vote
Well today's the day! I wish you guys could see what it's like in Scotland right now, you can't walk down the high street of Glasgow without some one yell "Yes!" or "No!" As for me, I am voting Yes with all the risks that come with it, I would happily stay within the union if we had fairer representation in Westminster but we don't and the Better together campaign has done a good job of highlighting the risks of independence ( which of course they should) but not the positives of remaining in the union. Actually if I'm being honest the SNP had very little to do with my choice, it's Westminster and the current political system that convinced that independence is the only way to go. I don't want my Dad to get called up by the army to go fight in another middle east conflict like in 2004 in which all the MSP voted against but they were outnumbered in Westminster. However I want to be as positive as possible, whatever way the vote goes I think it's going to be a win-win for Scotland if it's a 'no' Westminster has promised to give us more powers and they will perhaps learn that you can't over look the views of Scottish people ever again. If the Yes vote wins we can build our own nation without nukes and with getting involved in the middle east. So let me end by saying that if you are voting 'No" because you feel that is in Scotland's best interests I'm afraid I can't agree, however you are doing what you feel is right and I respect that.

do you think the scottish vote will lean more towards yes or no? if it wants to be independent can the Queen still go to Balmoral?
I have no idea but its going to be close either way, may I say I am surprised that the royals have not done more to 'charm' the Scots into staying with the UK but hey its too late now.

I'm really happy William and Kate are having another baby
I'm also delighted that the news came on the same day that Penny Junor's horrid new book on Harry is being talked about in the press. ( I'll be writing a post on that soon) William and Kate have stolen Penny Junor's thunder and I am delighted about that.

But this year (2014) isn't George first Christmas. He was born in July 2013.
Well.....I just embarrassed myself. :SI suppose I meant it will be his first Christmas were he is big enough to go to sandringham and be with the Queen.
