My toxic trait is whenever I join a new fandom I find the person who gets the most hate make them my favorite out of spite

Shoutout to those 5SOS confessions/drama accounts that have spent the past few days posting about how ugly Sierra and Crystal are and how they’ve both had copious amounts of plastic surgery. It’s also interesting how quickly they switch between the narrative that those relationships are pr and questioning why Luke and Michael would choose to date them. I’m glad to see that misogyny is still alive and well in this fandom.

Can we talk about how incredibly fucked up it is that 5SOS had a trainer that shamed them for eating??? After listening to Superbloom it’s enraging that there were so many people who didn’t care about the mental or physical well-being of the guys and it clearly took a toll of them. I really hope they have a healthier mindset now and people who support them.

Something that I love about Trevor is that whenever something like this happens, he takes a moment before coming out and saying something in order to get his thoughts in order.  And this is not at all to say that BK, Micheal, Steffie, and several others were less valid by reacting without hesitance.  You need both kinds of social justice interaction in order to effectively shut down this kind of thing.  Trevor, as far as we’ve seen, gives a moment for other more important voices to speak on the issue first before giving his own thoughts.  And often times that allows him to construct an argument that effectively and politely points out the flaws of your feedback.  But in a way that still specifically says that we see what you are doing here and we do not and will not accept it.  Speaking for the abuse that he had to go through in his own previous relationships, he especially can speak to how things are not so black and white.  At the end of the day, you don’t know these people, no matter how ingrained you are in the content they create.
