Visa and Mastercard may be getting a lot of calls about their adult content policies, but I just called in to PayPal and not only was there no wait, the customer service rep I got had never had one of these calls before (they were very nice about it.)

Don't overlook the online processors - even more than Visa and Mastercard they are the ones pressuring online retailers. PayPal is the one that's been pressuring Patreon over the last year or so.

I've had no luck reaching Stripe, all of the numbers people have dug up ring through as disconnected.

I hate to go through this all over again. Last night, Itch.io, one of the most popular platforms for hosting queer and adult independent media, went through a large-scale crackdown on adult content.

This was primarily aimed at games, but novels and comics were hit in the process. Most adult content has been de-listed from the site's search, and some creators were banned without warning. Any funds banned creators have not been paid are currently being withheld by Itch.io.

This crackdown was done, as it always is, because of payment processors like Mastercard and Visa threatening to pull their services.

The payment processors caved to an influence campaign by Australian extremist anti-pornography group Collective Shout, who have been inundating Visa and Mastercard with calls to force video game platforms to stop hosting adult content - which, of course, includes anything queer.

Collective Shout claim to have sent in 1000 emails to get this result, but there are a WAY more than a thousand of us. We need as many people as possible to make as much noise as we can!

Just to clarify, there's a bill that would STOP credit card companies from controlling who's allowed to spend money on porn or "risque" (read: queer) content. If you don't think big business should be able to tell you what to spend your own damn money on, call your senators and reps to let them know! It's the Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.410 in the Senate.

actually fuming about the itchio and steam stuff regarding nsfw products. it doesn't matter how much you cater or sanitize your queer art; it's going to be flagged NSFW and therefore be banned.

I chose to open a shop on gumroad because it allowed nsfw at the time. Then overnight they changed policies due to credit card companies, and automatically banned me from selling my body pillow designs. For "overwhelming sexuality". Sure, they're sensual, but there's no pussy or cocks in your face. They aren't showing butthole. Decently fine to leave in your living room, but we’re still given the boot!!!!

And patreon? A notorious nsfw platform for creators? Pulling back on allowing that content now. They don't allow kinks anymore, and my Mark S. drawings were removed for "rape" content, despite there being NOTHING suggesting it as such.

You can sanitize your queer art to please them. But it won't, and it'll still get banned. Etsy, gumroad, patreon, and the last remaining websites will have to cater to credit card companies and will remove your right to express yourself creatively and sell/purchase gay art. We gotta stop this shit NOW before it gets worse. We really gotta try. For YOUR gay future and also your community's!!!!!
