Without his husband’s friendly reminders, Dark Cacao wouldn’t think to rest and take breaks during the day. He’s head-strong and restless in his pursuit for stronger defences, building up to an inevitable slump of exhaustion. Only once, has Pure Vanilla watched as his husband caved into his weariness; his knees sinking beneath his weight and biting the cold, bitter flooring. And yet, it was enough for him to put his foot down and arrange occasional, light rests that wouldn’t shake his pride.

These ‘rests’ are merely dates in disguise, but Dark Cacao would be a fool to fight against his husband’s best efforts at keeping him safe. Once or twice a week, they bask in the comforting presence of one another, even if there is little to be said or done. Leisurely, Dark Cacao munches on hardened, rich Cacao beans, minding his manners in front of his husband. It’s true, he’s overlooked the importance of sustaining his appetite in his affairs, but he’d be unsettled to be seen in such a state. However, Pure Vanilla finds his polite mindfulness to be adorable.

Dark Cacao begins to stammer and lose his line of thought once Pure Vanilla trails his finger across the blade of his shoulder, and downwards towards his chest.

Pure Vanilla’s cheeks flush with a soft, rosy colour when he smiles. Sometimes, he notices a glint of amusement in his husband’s eyes when he becomes overwhelmed with excitement or bubbling laughter. Of course, this makes Pure Vanilla smile and flush harder.

From afar, Pure Vanilla rests his head on the doorway to Dark Choco’s nursery. He gazes affectionately towards the endearing sight that is his husband gently cooing, and rocking their teary-eyed son to sleep. For a slither of a moment, Pure Vanilla finds himself reminiscing on every memory they’ve shared together that led up to this moment.

Pure Vanilla has an insatiably high alcohol tolerance, while Dark Cacao has an insatiably low one. Whiskey offers Dark Cacao the confidence to swing and hurl his blade at anything in his path, and champagne offers Pure Vanilla the vivacious sensation of not having a single care about anything! As Dark Cacao mistakes his shadow for an enemy, Pure Vanilla bounds after him as merry as a marriage bell! Nearing the somber and beautiful twilight, the two drunkards lazily drift to sleep in the sanctuary of their lover’s embrace. As dawn crept through the window and nausea rendered them stiff and dazed, they agreed to a solemn promise to never drink again!
