Story of Maha Shivratri | Importance of Mahashivratri
Mahashivratri’s meaning in English is, Maha means ‘great’ and Shivratri means ‘night of Lord Shiva’. Where most of the festivals are celebrated during the day, the Maha Shivratri is celebrated through the night. It is a night when devotees throng the temples and immerse in worshipping their beloved Lord in His abstract form of the Shivalinga or Shivling and soak the divine energies.
