Padmavaat Controversy: Supreme Court lifted the ban from Padmaavat but agrees to hear pleas of two states

It’s almost a quarter of month has been passed when we came to know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s melodramatic big starrer movie named “Padmavati” will be soon in theaters to entertain us. Not only the Internet, but the Youtube has also registered millions of hits on a single day related to the search for the magnum opus film Padmavati teaser. The movie is all set to release worldwide but something unexpected happened on the sets of Padmavati in Rajasthan that sparked the flame of anger among the people.

The tale behind the anger came in front of the people when the media portrayed the actual matter associated with Padmavati. The whole matter came in limelight when the “Karni Sena”, the Rajput Community started vandalizing the sets of Padmavati. They destroyed the assets of Padmavati worth more than crore & threatened the makers to stop its shooting anymore.

“Padmavati” is one of the biggest movies of Bollywood that scripted on the historic poem of the 16th century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi. It has been stated that, ‘Padmavati’ is based on a true story which depicts the culture of Rani Padmavati. But, the interference of Karni Sena has washed the desires of Sanjay Leela Bhansali to release the film with no cuts.

The matter spreads like a wildfire when the politicians joined the battle & re-ignites the flame of anger among the people to protest the film because it’s tarnishing the image of Rani Padmavati & the whole Rajput community whom she belongs. The fray becomes fierce with time where four states imposed ban on the release of the movie Padmavati. However, the involvement of Supreme Court has doused the rising anger among the people by forcing its makers to go through some cuts as per the norms of Central Board of Film Certification.

The protest results in the change of the movie’s name from Padmavati to Padmaavat. However, it didn’t worked for the protesters & at last the CBFC cleared the movie for release with some cuts. The news of Padmaavat release date has shocked the Karni Sena & others. But, as we say that there is always a hope & something good will happen. It worked for Karni Sena as Supreme Court agreed to hear the plea filed by the government of Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh for imposing ban on “Padmaavat”.

Padmavati Controversies

Controversies in India are very common as it helps the popular personalities to stay in the news for getting fame.  Every year controversies have been created & compelled the common people to indulge in it to make it look massive. Padmavati controversy has been being termed as the biggest controversy in the Indian History where crores of assets have been vandalized at the Padmavati set in Jaipur during the shoot. The controversy took an ugly turn when a Young man found dead hanging at Nahargarh Fort near Jaipur. The threat note on the nearby stones associated with Padmavati besides the body; fuels the controversy & created a point for the protestors to spread rumors against the movie in a big manner.

“Karni Sena” a Rajpur Group spearheading a campaign which portrays that they are strongly protesting against the movie Padmavati. Though the real reason behind the controversy is still unknown, some says that the way of presenting the facts is tarnishing the history & it’s brutal.

The Rajput groups embroiled in this controversy says that the romantic sequence between Allauddin Khilji & Rajput Queen Padmavati, distorting her image & arousing them to protest against it at this instant. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that there is no romantic sequence in the movie & everything what they are connecting with the movie are just rumors. Padmavati is still not in the theaters & it has been anticipated that Padmavati release date will be postponed until & unless CBFC certifies it as ok. But the BBFC i.e. British Board of Film Certification has passed Padmavati with no cuts & allowed to release it in UK.
