she rubbed her hand up and down his back, hoping that the gentle action could help calm him down a little bit. as much as kaia knew she was the cause of a lot of parker’s frustration and irritation, she absolutely hated it when someone else irritated or frustrated him. it wasn’t that she was the only one allowed to do that, but that was exactly what it was. or at least that was how kaia felt. it was one thing for her to do it, but for someone else to do it? definitely not. a huge no-no in her book. she hummed to show that she was listening, her hand continuing its stroking motions against his back. “i see.” she could understand why he was frustrated - hell, she would be too if she were in his situation. “what are the chances of lav ever changing her mind about him?” 

        parker began to relax the moment he felt kaia’s soothing back - and - forth motions. his default is tense. he doesn’t loosen up, except when under the influence of alcohol or if he sees kaia, and she instills him with that sense of calm he’s only ever gotten from being around her. “well, i don’t think the problem is that lav doesn’t feel the same way. i think it’s that she’s afraid to admit that she does.” as someone who once took a similar stance with the person standing right in front of him now, he would understand his bandmate’s choice if he was correct about it, but he’s certain that he would still be just as irritated by it. “don’t feel like talking about it anymore,” he decided, glancing over kaia’s shoulder at the items she had cooking over the stove. “what’d i interrupt?” he wondered.

it wasn’t a surprise to kaia that parker showed up unannounced - he did it more often than not, which she had to admit that she loved. her house was rather large in size, something she had grown accustomed to throughout her childhood, and it did get a little lonely sometimes when she didn’t have guests over. and of course, parker was her favorite guest to have. she was in the kitchen when he showed up, standing by the stove and mixing together ingredients for the meal she was preparing. she turned around when he spoke, her eyebrows furrowing at his words. “oh,” she murmured, setting the bowl on the counter and approaching him, her arms wrapping around his torso. “what happened, boo bear? do you wanna talk about it?” 

        there’s no one who can frustrate him like kaia does, and no one who can calm him like she does. parker answered her with a grumble as he slid his arms around her and rested his cheek on the top of her head. “i dunno,” he murmured, unsure if he felt like talking about it, or how he would even describe the problem. “he didn’t really do anything. it’s just hard to be around him when he’s fucking moping all the time. mase is never really happy, but he’s usually a lot less fucking miserable to be around then he is right now. it’s not like i can do anything about it either,” he concluded, “the only thing that can is time unless lav changes her mind about him.” parker was losing hope in the latter ever happening and he was growing more and more frustrated with wondering how long it was going to take mason to get over his feelings for their bandmate.
