Although little is known about Hannah, at her death Van Buren wrote that she was a "modest and unassuming" woman with a "mild" disposition… Hannah was pretty and tiny enough to be smaller than Van Buren.

It actually drives me crazy how little we know about hannah hoes van buren!!!!! Mvb didn't even mention her in his autobiography!!!! Why martin why!!!!!! And she only has one portrait too like..... I want to make more interesting fanart of her but sadly she is relegated to the Dead Wife trope because 1. that paragraph above is the most detailed I've seen on what she was like when she was alive and 2. i don't want to stray too far from history as much as i'd love to make up my own stuff

Fun fact i started learning dutch 4 years ago because I wanted to write realistic dialogue between hannah and mvb and its gotten out of hand, now I can actually speak it conversationally and watch dutch shows without subtitles (this is a cry for help) (the things I do for mvb smh..)
