I suppose I should be grateful that I was able to feel real connection at least once in my life. Nothing is promised.

[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled “immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”

Always got my hand on my partners tummy when we’re cuddling. (Obviously consensual) Also listening to their heartbeat. Love it.
I'd like to talk about how comforting it can feel to feel a tummy against you. It's doesn't have to be stuffed at all. Like if your hand is laying on their tummy and you can feel them breathing. To me that's something so calming.
I can't keep my hands off someones tummy, having their consent, if I think it's a cute one. I don't know why but the movement of the body simply refilling its oxygen ressources makes me feel safe.

My elderly father started talking about how frustrating he finds “the pronouns thing” and I was like. Oh no. He had such a good stand on this, he’s been they/them-ing his cishet siblings for god’s sake! Is he regressing?? And he was talking about how difficult it is to remember, and how onerous it feels to expect strangers to keep track of it, and I’m like oh no oh no.
Then he says, “I mean, the problem isn’t the gender thing. The problem is four words: she, her, he, and him. We got rid of stewardess and turned it into flight attendant. It doesn’t matter if the flight attendant is a man or woman, so we got rid of it. We just need to get rid of those. I don’t need to know.”
“You don’t need to know… people’s gender?”
“No. I don’t care, I don’t need to know, and I don’t want to remember it.”
So we can relax. It’s just a continuation of his crusade to they/them the world. He doesn’t want to remember anyone’s gender. He’s abolishing the genders.

Let’s be honest - Everest should be cut off from climbers, and the only people that should be allowed up there are ppl who volunteer to clean up all the garbage and human excrement adrenaline junkies have left up there over the decades, and anyone who volunteers to attempt to bring down any bodies of those who died.
The ascent is too dangerous, too many ill-equipped and unprepared climbers try to make the climb, and too much garbage is piling up and poisoning the run off that communities around Everest rely on to live.

As they were sedating me for my TEE, I remember the cardiologist telling me: “Now we’re just going to stare at you awkwardly until you fall asleep.” I snorted.

"Their blood is on your hands. Five lives taken."
Painted on the Colorado Springs headquarters of homophobic Christian organization "Focus on the Family".
The message is a reference to the mass shooting at Club Q, where five people died Saturday night.

It’s been longer than that...:’)
'suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem'
I think it's past temporary when I've felt the same for 10 years now

Rainer Maria Rilke, The Book of Images

Holy shit, I feel like a werewolf.
thinking about werewolves and the concept of becoming a monster and discovering that something savage and uncontrollable exists within you and the potential that has to be a liberating narrative about growth and change and courage rather than a story about controlling and concealing it
