“I’ll be back, Artemis,” she heard her brother say. Of course, the girl didn’t answer the Gryffindor as he had ran off to do whatever he was doing. He was popular, outgoing, basically the complete opposite of her. The Ravenclaw student sat on the bench quietly, enjoying the little snack Apollo had brought her. Of course, she is always seen with her nose in a book.
Artemis was still in her training as an heiress, furthering expanding her knowledge in divination. Since a young age, the girl still preferred tarot cards and astrology over anything else. Of course, her parents weren’t quiet fond of her methods, but they didn’t mind as long as tradition continues down the bloodline.
The teenager placed a bookmark in her book before closing it. She placed the book on her lap as she looked down at the canister that Apollo had given to her before he left. Her brother had made her favorite herbal tea blend of strawberries, lemons, and dragon fruit, among other dried fruits as well. Artemis twisted off the lid (which also served as a cup) and poured herself a serving.
She could still see steam rising from the cup, which meant the blend was still hot. Artemis picked up the cup and carefully blew the steam away while cooling the top of the liquid down. She held the cup up to her lips, taking a small sip before lowering it from her mouth. The blend was mixed with honey, just the way she liked it.
She took another look at the small box of cookies and picked up the lemon cream cookie sandwich. Artemis placed the cookie to her mouth and took a bite out of it. Just before she could take finish off the cookie, a young male approached her. It was obvious that she couldn’t ignore him since they were the only two around. The Ravenclaw didn’t like disturbances during her alone time. It was better if Apolo was still around to help her.
Artemis gave the other a blank look for just a moment before speaking. “Yes?” she replied, her tone unemotional.
Will I have Friends? | jaehyo & artemis
flashback
It was another lonely day in Hogwarts. Again, he was only accompanied by Mr. Ox and the new(ly created) friend Miss Jackson. He was discreetly holding hands with them, going through the isolated pathways as he was not fond of being around people who would comment about how strange he was.
Mr. Ox and Miss Jackson though, had convinced him to socialize with someone, a girl famed for her fortune-telling. Honestly, he heard about her everywhere, how absolutely amazing her readings were or how accurate it was. Mr. Ox and Miss Jackson were curious and thought it’d be great if he get a reading too. There also had been a question clouding his mind, one close to the truth he so desperately tried to kill.
“Do you think she is nice?” He softly whispered, eyes darting around warily. Sure he had come in terms with what others think of him, but it didn’t mean it still didn’t hurt. Sighing, he hoped that he could find the girl quick so he didn’t bump with anyone else.
“Hopefully she is.” Mr. Ox answered him, patting him on the head, whilst Miss Jackson gave a nod of agreement, gently placing a hand on his back. It felt nice to be around two people he trusted, but he also knew there was something wrong with it. But it was alright as he felt happy, that was what’s more important.
Finally, the boy spotted a girl, who he had found out through observation and analyzing, rather than asking someone simply. Glad that there wasn’t anyone around, he headed towards her, although he still cautiously looked around. Once he was close enough for her to hear, he meekly made his presence known “Excuse me…”

The professor stared down at the books she had in her arms before taking a look back at the male. Divination was practically Artemis’s life since birth. She often heard others says that divination was fake or lies, but the woman didn’t care much for people who speak with their mouth’s wide open and their butt in the air. “Depending on the method of divination, it’s more interesting than just a deck of cards or some sticks,” Artemis replied.
“It’s a lifestyle,” she went on. “There many methods to reading someone’s future. I just so happened to be born into a family that was so gifted with it.” There was so much more Artemis could say, but she left it at that. She didn’t enjoy talking about her lineage that often nor was she a prideful person to boast about her gifts either.
Artemis gave the male a small nod of her head as she introduced herself. “Artemis. Artemis Ahn,” she replied. “It’s a pleasure.” She was a woman of small words, like the Ravenclaw she was. Upon hearing the other offering to take her out for tea, the professor was a bit hesitant about it. She was on a tight schedule to return back to Hogwarts soon. Artemis gave it a thought. Perhaps a ten minute conversation wouldn’t hurt, but at the same time, there was no need to go that far over a little accident. “I suppose it won’t hurt for a ten minute conversation,” she said with small smile.

“Everything is a very generic question, especially in divination,” the professor said, as she placed the book back into the shelf. The woman returned her gaze back to the young man. Artemis didn’t recognize him in any of her classes, which meant this was a random student who wanted to know or receive advice from her. However, the tone he was giving her was very much like a Slytherin.
“But even in a general sense, something can be done,” she added, gesturing to the sit in front of her desk. “Please have a seat.” Artemis scanned the bookshelf one last time before walking to her chair. The professor sat down, folding her hands in front of her. “As I said before knowing everything is very generic.” Artemis then went and opened her tarot box again, pulling out the deck of cards. “Please understand that it is up to you if you want to listen the advice or not. ”
“Before we start, may I ask for your name and birthday?” she asked, looking at the deck of cards face up for a moment before keeping them faced down. Artemis didn’t really need the name as much as she needed the male’s birthday. The name was just to match a face with; however, the birthday was more important. Astrology signs determine a person’s personality, both in and out. And that was Artemis’s other specialty.
Much like the Minor Arcana symbols, each zodiac sign corresponded with a element. While the cards predicted things that could be set in stone due to one’s actions, the astrology signs were much different in a way.
Six of Swords — { Oliver ☽ Artemis }
oliver had never been interested in divination. it wasn’t a compulsory subject to take and he personally found no use for it. with his ‘skills’ any kind of prediction would most likely be false. he was ambitious, but not that ambitious.
the divination classroom was comfy at best, even if it was cramped. oliver would pick the classroom over his potions classroom any day. he had half the mind to steal one of the armchairs. but with his luck, attempts would be futile. he had the slytherin common rooms and their leather sofas were enough.
the slytherin had finished his classes for the day. he was bored. and he wanted to bother someone with questions. the target of the day would be professor ahn, a teacher that oliver rarely ever came into contact with. as he made his way to the classroom, he half-expected the woman to pop up out of nowhere, as if she would’ve known that he was coming. oliver stopped as he got to the door, waiting for a few seconds before knocking.
upon entering, it was just as oliver had remembered it. poofy armchairs. bookshelves lining the walls. the only difference was that it smelt like the sea. it was ironic when they were so far from it. eyes finally settled on the woman in the room, oliver forced a wide smile onto his face, well aware that he might have disturbed the professor from her work.
“i have some important questions to ask. i want to know everything.”

The woman had been reading the same book for a while. As she stood there, Artemis finally closed the book and placed it back in the shelf. She returned back to glance at the spine of the books. Her eyes scanned each row, looking for something new to read.
Every now and then the brunette would pull out a book, glance at the title before putting it back. Artemis continued to walk around, looking back at the books she often read at the bookstore during her time in Hogwarts. After browsing through the shelves, the professor thought it was best to purchase a few books here. Might as well, she thought to herself. Artemis shrugged at the thought and made her rounds one last time, only picking a good handful to buy.
Artemis often had a habit of purchasing books when she had enough to read back home. Of course the woman would get bored from reading the same book more than ten times. The professor wished the bookstore had stocked up on Muggle fiction books as well. They were a guilt pleasure of hers, especially their fantasy genre. They were quite different from what the magical world was actually like. Although she’ll give them points for trying.
Just before she left the aisle of books, the professor had to immediately stop in her tracks, but it was a little too late. Perhaps the other person she had ran into wasn’t able to see her, not that she mind. Artemis was a small person after all.
“It’s all right,” she answered with a small, yet kind smile.

Six of Swords — { Oliver ☽ Artemis }
→ for @slyxing
The window was cracked open slightly as the scented oils burned in the corner, giving off the smell of the ocean. That was the scent Artemis had picked out today. It was one of her favorite scents. She often kept the smell light and airy, compared to how it used to smell like when she was a student in Hogwarts.
The professor had closed her eyes for just a moment, thinking her deep thoughts. Her fingers slowly running over each card that she had laid out in front of her. She had already done her daily one-card spread earlier in the day before class had started. Artemis slowly opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling for a moment before putting her tarot cards away in a wooden box.
This was often how her free period would end up being. Quiet and very, very boring. Or having stacks of papers to grade, but it wasn’t the latter. Of course, she would occasionally have students come in and ask her a few questions whether it was about the assignment she had given or wanted to have a tarot card reading. She guessed today would be a rather slow day.
Artemis got up from her chair and walked across the room to the bookcase on the other side of the wall. Her brown eyes scanned the shelf. The entire case was covered with fictional and divination research books that she had brought from home. She pulled a random book from the case. The professor was about to walk back to her seat when she heard a knock on the door.
“Come in,” Artemis said, her eyes on the door.

King of Cups — { Ilya ☽ Artemis }
→ for @healerilya
The weekend had started and this wasn’t good news for the divination professor. She had quickly left the school through floo network. Her destination: St. Mungo’s Hospital. Of course, she had a make a trip to the Ministry of Magic and leave from there to find the hospital in London.
Artemis had received a letter from a friend of her brother’s that he had fainted while on duty. At a time like this, she was desperate to find her brother. The woman loved her brother dearly and couldn’t bear seeing him hurt. She had already caused him enough trouble when she was younger and now…
She quickly ran, making turns left and right until she found a red brick building with the sign, Purge and Dowse, Ltd. Artemis was almost out of breath and wanted to catch a break, but she needed to see Apollo. The brunette walked up to window display, staring at the mannequin. She wiped away the sweat that fell from her cheek. “I am here to Apollo Alexander Ahn.”
Artemis watched as the dummy nodded, allowing her full access to the hospital. Taking a deep breath, she stepped in and found herself in the reception hall of the building. She quickly ran up to the front desk and asked for her brother’s floor number. Of course, she was frantically looking around her twin. Hopefully she runs into the right person that could help her.

Interpretations & Understandings — { ☽ Open }
“Is there any other questions?” The professor looked up from her book, scanning the now - silent classroom. Not one had spoken a word. Artemis took their silence as an answer. Of course, there were a few that shook their heads. “Okay, good...” She spoke again, closing her book.
All of a sudden, her students nearly stood up in unison, shuffling their chairs in and out as they packed their bags to move on to their next class. “Students, please don’t forget to read pages 125-134 on the introduction of dream interpretation.” The brunette had to shout over moving students, but she was a bit too late. They had all left mid-sentence. The woman hoped that they had heard what she was saying, if not Artemis knew she would be expecting many complaints from her students.
With a deep sigh, she placed her teacher’s book on her desk and stretched her arms. Who knew teaching could cause this much stress? Artemis walked around each round table and began straightening them out. As she made her rounds, the professor placed away all the books that she had laid out for her students to read. This little habit of hers was picked up from the previous divination professor who had been her teacher many years ago.
As she continued to clean, the brunette heard some shuffling from the ladder downstairs. The woman turned towards the direction of the trap door before having her eyes back on the bookshelf.

Two of Cups — { Myungsoo ☽ Artemis }
→ for @prophetxmyungsoo
It was that time again, doing weekly chaperoning at Hogsmeade. This time Artemis offered to help. She didn’t have much to do around her office since Apollo had returned to the ministry to help with the recent threats and the fact that there were things she wanted to get out of her mind. The professor had left her students to be as long as they promised to meet back at the Hog’s Head when the trip was over.
The woman took a stroll down the village as she thought about the tarot spread she did this morning. It was a very simple spread where she picked out a random card out of the seventy-eight that were laid out in front of her. Artemis had pulled the Two of Cups card from the deck.
“The Two of Cups... Huh...” the brunette mumbled to herself. Out of all the cards, why would it be the Two of Cups? Even in the upfront position? This was the card Artemis dreaded. She wasn’t looking for a committed relationship, however the card could mean any type relationship which was still decent in her eyes. As the former Ravenclaw continued to walk, her brown eyes fell upon the bookstore and the window display.
Artemis stopped in her tracks, giving the store a good look. It’s been years since she had been to this very store. Her inner but younger Ravenclaw self couldn’t even resist the urge to step inside. The professor took a deep breath and pulled open the door. It still had the scent of dusty old books, which made her smile.
She wandered around the aisles before finding herself in front of some old divination books. The brunette grazed her fingers along the shelf until she found one particular book. Artemis pulled it off from the shelving. She turned the book front and back before opening to the first page. The first several pages were introductions to the craft before diving right into the other details and methods of divination.
Grabbing the pages, Artemis quickly flipped to the page dedicated to the Two of Cups. She already knew the meaning behind the card that she had pulled, but she did like to see what others had in mind.

{ Introductory ☽ OOC }
{{ // hi everyone! and thank you for the warm welcomes - again! c: for those have yet to meet or talk to me, i’m kim. i also role-play aiyana/hyejeong in this group. i never really got around doing an introductory post on her blog, so here i am giving one on my new child.
i’ve actually been role-playing for five years now, give or take. i actually haven’t really role-played in a group in so long that i will admit i’m rusty. like really rusty. i bounced around many fandoms in the role-play community and i won’t lie but i remember when alohomora was still new. probably being a year or two old and i wanted to join so badly, but i was juggling many things already. and finally 2016, here i am!
ever since picking up aiyana/hyejeong, i’ve always wanted to create a professor character based on my personal interests in the magical world. divination is actually one of them. pretty sure most of you guys know i post some pictures of my own tarot card set. despite the fact i’m still learning, most of the readings i give are very accurate to my friends and it’s pretty scary.
anyways, so this is artemis… she technically does bark and bite. her twin, apollo, will make an appearance in most threads as a pop in and out character. he never says a word unless his sister is being threatened. artemis is serious person, but she’ll probably smile every now and then. and artemis had been teaching at hogwarts for 3 years now, so next fall is her 4th year teaching. c:
she also has as little secret that she can’t tell anyone. so it’s going to be a surprise when you guys find out. c; she’s also a seer, but i won’t be using those abilities unless i have too. okay i’ve spoken too much… i think. hahaha… anyways, come by and plot with me and artemis or aiyana/hyejeong! byes~ }}
