Imagine, hypothetically, that I've put a gun to your head. Mara is incapacitated or otherwise unable to assist you in this matter. I ask you to pick one of your currently alive killing game participants to sacrifice. Whoever is chosen will die instantly. If you do not choose someone, then I shoot you dead, ending this killing game and setting all of the students free. What do you decide?

Cara's presence in Eva's execution has haunted me since Chapter 1 released. Much of Cara is still a mystery, including the definitive reason she was included in the execution, but I think the best way to describe Cara's appearance is that she's part of the Execution's lesson.

Cara is the Ultimate Teacher's Assistant, and Tozu is using her for her role. In the prologue, she was used to teach the students how the Killing Game works- she demonstrated as a body, and showed blood and weaponry to many students for the first time. Cara was also used to teach the students about each other. Certain students refused to investigate, exposing weak links, while others focused on their strengths applicable, showing who was willing to work. Both the students and Tozu could learn from watching how everyone acted in the trial. While Tozu was watching the students constantly, I do believe this prologue trial was an assessment for him to discover the weakest link to start the killing game- Eva, who lied about her ultimate, constantly displayed egotism, and was the first to touch Cara's body, etc, would have stood out.

Cara is a tool that serves Headmaster Tozu. Whatever lesson she's teaching is one he's planned. The most obvious takeaway from watching Eva's execution is that trusting other people gets you killed, and that's why Cara offers her hand but it breaks off. That's the message Tozu wants to send. He wants the unease and discomfort to grow among the students to prepare the next round of the killing game. The real takeaway from Eva's execution is don't trust Tozu. Eva's biggest mistake was refusing help throughout Chapter 1. She had Damon and Diana willing to support her consistently, yet she refused to accept their help. Cara is a physical representation of how Eva didn't accept any much-needed help, and then she accepted it from someone associated with Tozu rather than another student. A lack of trust is what kills in the killing game, but so does trusting in the wrong places- specifically trusting in Tozu and anything he says. He strung Eva along (a math based riddle, lying about her having a limited time to kill) and brutally disposed of her once her work was done, using Cara to assure Eva one last time that trusting anyone is a terrible idea.

[Cassidy is contemplating something...is that a good or bad thing? Who knows to be honest]

Villain anon: *traps Eva in an huge bird cage* Mwahahaha! I have captured Princess Eva! Come & rescue her if you dare, Prince Damon! Mwahahaha!!!!! 😈

*Eva immediately panics the moment the cage door slams shut, her hands gripping the cold metal bars as her breath quickens*

"G-Gh..! W-What-?! H-Hey, let me out!!" "This… this isn’t funny.." *She mutters, her tone trembles as she hugs her arms tightly around herself, trying to steady herself*

*Her face flushes faintly as the villain mentions Damon, but the adrenaline was rushing inside her as she couldn't keep calm*

"Y-You know... D-Damon’s not! He’s not coming, don’t drag him into this!!"

*Eva in desperate measures yanked on the cold bars, trying as she could but it was no use. Even her plans didn't seem to work out, as she felt doubt in her*

"..."

"…Why would anyone even bother rescuing me…?"

"Dude!! You should be glad we're not in the same universe, or else I'd be kicking down your door right now!"

"Ultimate or not, well-suited Ultimate or not-you're super cool. Just because others can't see all of you, and how awesome you are, doesn't mean that you're just what they see. Yeah, so what if ya can do math? You also know a lot about a ton of stuff, and you got hella good taste in games, too!

You know, in another reality where Eden’s Garden Academy was named Hopes Peak instead (yes with that cray fashionista bitch-) they actually had a lottery where someone would be accepted into the school as the Ultimate Lucky Student or Ultimate Luckster alternatively.

Safe to say their talents were actually luck as one had extreme cases of it via having incurable cancer which they somehow lived on their deadlines death and another where they had more balanced ones.

Yeah Hope’s Peak had some strange tastes honestly-

"Hope’s Peak, huh…"

*Eva crosses her arms, still feeling troubled* "A lottery student sounds… reckless. But maybe that’s the point." "To throw someone into chaos and see if they survive… like testing fate."

*She pauses, hesitating* "…I doubt luck would’ve chosen me, though." "I'm already stuck with a talent that doesn't even define me at all..."

*She looks away* "...And my school life hasn't really been great either." "Bweh.."

"…Besides, Eden’s Garden Academy has enough misfortune already." "And, I'm one of them."

[Cassidy feels a hand pat her head, but sees nothing around her. The words she heard echo in her mind]

"I couldn't stop em dying here, but...I really wish we had time to have fun together."

"Woah! Hey there, dude! Haha, this is so cool, how are ya?"
