Hello there! Name's Faust, the head of the programming department at Manasoft; creators of the Magic-Assistant Nano-Automator brand of personal digital spellbooks. Feel free to ask me whatever, I'm always up for a chat while my codes compile... which is always.
Don't wanna be here? Send us removal request.

"Who are you and what do you want?"
Faust looked up from the readout on his gauntlet. “… Faust. And to catalogue all available magical knowledge.” He answered simply, unsure of why he was being asked such a random question.
“Where am I, by the way?” He asked, his tone making it clear he’s had to ask this question a lot.

S.Rise: Gee Kanji, why do you always play as Shulk in that *specific* costume?
S.Kanji: Because he looks yummy~
S.Yosuke: Why did any of you invite me to this shit?
S.Naoto: Why act so blatantly facetious? You know it is because you have a deep phobia of isolation!
S.Naoto: Please stay! I don't want to be alone either...
S.Chie: Yeah Yoskue, just keep playing your stupid frog while I beat your ass with Z.Suit Samus.
S.Teddie: We only play this game to avoid the crippling realization that all is pointless and that we will one day cease to be.
S.Yukiko: No, I lost again! Oh would someone please save me from this terrible losing streak?
S.Mitsuo: Stop playing Zelda then. She's bottom tier for a reason.
S.Yukiko: Ew not you.
Okay but picture this :
The Investigation Team’s shadows all playing Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros
God help us all

“Hm?” Faust hummed absently, his mind focused on keeping the transformation stable. “Just simple blood magic, really. devils_armor.rtl is nothing special, really.” He said. He’d cast a transformation spell on himself, giving him the general appearance of a demon. His face and body were the same, but his arms and feet were now vicious looking demon’s claws, and an arrow sharp tail was sticking from his lower back. He surged forward at the test dummies he’d set up a few moments ago before… whomever this was showed up and saw him transform. All that could be seen was a dark red flurry of claw slashes that left nothing of the wooden dolls behind except dust.
Faust’s body seemed to explode into a black and red mist that smelled vaguely of sulfur a few moments later, but when it cleared, he was sitting on the ground, no longer with the appearance of a demon. His breathing was ragged but he had a pleased smile on his face. “Finally. I can bring that spell out of beta.” He said in between breaths. “By the way, who are you?” He asked, then looked around puzzled. “And for that matter, where am I?” Once again, he found himself far away from home, having wandered to some strange new location to test spells.
programming-wizard gave this post a like!
“Jus’ what kinda magic was that?!” Nothing like he’d seen before that was for sure! Then again, it wasn’t like Sora was a walking talking magic machine either.
#no worries! i'm just happy you gave this nerd a chance :3#if you need to know anything about Faust please don't hesitate to ask!

Faust stumbled over one of the rocks and felt his body plummeting towards the ground too fast to stop himself. His face hit the rough stone with a painful smack and felt something warm and wet splash across his face. “Agh…” he groaned, despite not feeling pain. His ridiculously high pain tolerance prevented him from being debiliated from the damage, but even he knew when his nose was broken and he was bleeding heavily.
He slowly rolled to the side of the cave, thankful for the cover of darkness he hadn’t yet realized was worthless. He could feel the blood already flowing onto his robes, his chest now feeling uncomfortably warm and damp from it. He raised his gauntlet and closed his fist harshly.
mend.hly
The unseen flow of crimson soon reduced to a trickle. He’d chosen a lesser healing spell for two reasons. One, more powerful ones created light and noise. Two, healing spells were incredibly costly for his magic. Faust tilted his head forward, letting the blood trickle out until his body had healed itself enough. He dared not continue running yet. There were some injuries even magic couldn’t fix, and he didn’t want to risk accidentally injuring himself worse. He would wait here and hope the fairy following him wouldn’t find him.
… He put his palm up, ready to cast a defensive or offensive spell at a moment’s notice.

Faust stopped just long enough to look back at the faerie with a puzzled look. “Faerie… king… Oh dear Azathoth. Oberon.” Faust said quietly to himself. If there was one thing the Druids had managed to drill into his head, it was that you could never, under any circumstance, piss off Titania. And to a lesser extent, Oberon. Telling Faust that she worked for Oberon was probably one of the only things that could have convinced him even more to escape from this temple. Dealing with a faerie was one thing, dealing with the royalty was another entirely. Like a forest fire as opposed to a campfire. He made the immediate decision to ignore the faerie’s warning, and only ran faster. He cursed his lack of foresight in not bringing in a teleportation cartridge, or an agility boosting one.
echolocation.mag
Faust coughed and felt the sound waves bounce off the walls around him. These tunnels were impossible to see in without either his scansight, echolocation, or a light. But his scansight would make his eyes glow, and a light would give away his position even more blatantly. Staying invisible was the best choice for him… or it would be, if the faerie chasing his wasn’t blind.
“Are you deaf, fool? I said stop!” It was easy enough to follow after the mage. After all, he kept making noise. Marrow was glad that she was able to recall paths quickly, but the echolocation spell was rather…inconvenient. She had a throbbing headache. If this guy didn’t stop soon, she would take it out on him.
The fairy reached out with her magic, trying to encourage the earth to rise up, to stop this foreign invader. It was tough pushing through this land that had been devoid of fairies for so long, but she was able to shift a few rocks, at least. Whether it was in time or not was still up for debate.

tempest_cage.mag
The wall of howling gale encircled the faerie the moment she made her presence known. It wasn’t like Faust was prepared, or even that he made the deliberate choice to create an elemental shield between himself and the faerie, but when someone points a weapon at you, it’s often best to make a choice first and consider any consequences as they arise. Had this been anywhere else except a high risk zone, he would have tried diplomacy, but for right now, he would escape. Even in self defence, he refused to cause harm unless there was little else he could do to save himself.
He’d come to these ruins to search for any spell components or lost tomes he could study. Much like Faust himself, the pursuit of knowledge was sleepless. Although he would have loved more time to stay and perhaps attempt a few divination rituals, it was apparently not to be, as some being seemed to decide his presence unwelcome, for one reason or another. Bringing up the wind barrier was easy enough, and it was a powerful enough distraction, though it would dissipate the moment Faust left a certain radius or after a mere minute, whichever came first. The technomancer had no intention to stay for that minute, and started briskly running towards back towards the labyrinth of caves and tunnels that lead back to the surface.
He did send a telepathic message to the faerie, however. It would have been rude to leave her with the impression he was a thief or a vandal. “Forgive me for doing that, it was purely an instinctive response. However, I was unsure of your intentions towards me. Perhaps it would be best for us to forget this incident occurred.” he thought to her politely, hoping that she wouldn’t pursue him once the barrier faded… Which it did the moment he reached the mouth of the nearest tunnel, still within sight of the faerie.
The cage was loud, but Marrow had been trained never to drop her weapon. She grimaced with the howling in her ears, knees buckling at the sheer force of the magic. Clearly, this was not a fairy. Could it be one of the Fae, awakened from their long slumber by the unrest of the land? No, impossible. A Fae would never leave a message. There would only be death.
Her ears were left ringing, complaining loudly at the sudden upset. It left her dazed and off-balance. Still, she needed to find this mage, to determine whether he was a risk to the security of the nation. Marrow stumbled after him, one hand on a wall to guide her until her senses came close to normal.
Fairies weren’t able to communicate telepathicly. At least, not from her brood. But Marrow could shout. She was very good at that. The fairy put some of her magic into her voice and called out, as best she could, “Stop! Cease your running, in the name of the king!”

Deep Ass Sentence Starters
“When you think about people who have died, do you picture them anywhere?” “Sometimes it freaks me out that everyone around me has a life as complex and real as my own.” “Do you sometimes suddenly hear your own heartbeat and feel sick because… What if it suddenly stops or something?” “I sometimes just want something really bad to happen to me. Something that’s just really awful. I don’t know why… Do you get that too?” “I can’t stand the thought that I don’t know what’s going to happen to the world in hundreds of years.” “Does thinking about Primary School make you sad, or happy?” “Most pets we keep only become a fraction of our age. Do you think that if they’d know this, they’d call us gods?” “What are you more afraid of, space or the ocean?” “There’s no way anyone can tick everything off their bucket list. We all want too much. It’s frustrating.” “Do you think we’re in control of our lives, generally? Or do you think we just think we are?” “If you knew you were going to die next week, would you tell people or live the way you were till the end?” “I think most people remember the exact moment they realised they were grown up. Because of something said to them, or something they saw… Do you remember that moment?” “One of us is going to die first. Do you think we’ll still know each other to find out who?” “Do you think we’re all capable of murder when it comes down to it?” “I’m so afraid of the moment you know you’re going to die.” “Are there things people have said to you that have legitimately changed you?” “Why do people fear losing things that they don’t even have yet?” “How do I know you even have a consciousness? I can’t know.” “What do you think our purpose is?” “What if everything is just a coincidence? For instance: What if gravity doesn’t exist? Everything has just always coincidentally fallen to the ground.” “If nothing else, we at least won the sperm race.” “If you could send a message to the entire world, what would you say in 30 seconds?” “Do you think other people’s judgments motivate us or hold us back?” “If karma was coming back to you, would it help or hurt you?” “Right, we’ve probably had enough alcohol for the rest of the night. We’re getting way too philosophical.”

Entry Level Failure (open RP)
Faust was practically skipping as he walked down the halls to the elevator. He even hummed a little tune. The finest resume he'd ever seen had metaphorically crossed his desk earlier in the week (in actuality he had found it in his email inbox), and while normally he would delegate interviews to another employee, this particular applicant simply had to be interviewed by the CEO. He refused to let the chance for an immediate one-on-one with such a promising mage to slip through his fingers. He'd scheduled the interview for today, and even brought a fresh M.A.N.A gauntlet for immediate use for the applicant. He pushed the ground floor button, with an elated glint in his eyes. Though little did he know, he'd sent the interview confirmation email to the wrong person entirely. A person who probably had no idea what they would be interviewed for, who was also likely to be extremely confused. The elevator doors opened and Faust walked briskly into the front office, barely able to contain his excitement. "Greetings and welcome to Manasoft! It is truly a pleasure to have you here." He said to the 'applicant'.

It wasn’t often that Marrow was required to leave the king’s side, but the resistance had proven to be a difficult force to root out. When Oberon had commanded her to investigate a possible hideout for rebel forces, she had gone immediately. The temple itself was rather small and unimportant in the grand scheme of things, just a small ruin that had been abandoned centuries ago for the wide open fields and sanctified forests that had come in vogue with the reign of Oberon.
There were a few fairies hiding in the temple, but she dispatched them quickly and quietly. The other, however… The fairy put on her scariest face and held her sword ready, facing the intruder. “Who are you?”

Faust’s eyes burned harshly in this fog. For once in his life, he’d come to a location with intent rather than wandering in like a bear onto a busy interstate. Ever since an hour ago, he’d begun regretting it. It wasn’t his first time in Inaba. He’d followed a strange signal around this area several times before, hoping the energy readings were magical in origin so he could study them. But he’d never been able to isolate them. However, this time, he’d detected a signal similar to one of the ones from a few years ago. Actually… ‘similar’ wasn’t the right word. It was the exact opposite signal though it radiated from what appeared to be the same source.
The technomancer rubbed his eyes, trying to quell the painful burning. When he pulled his hands away, his palms came back red. “Not good…” he muttered. This fog seemed to be draining his magic, and now his body was draining his life force to sustain it. He pulled a clear flask with misty blue liquid in it and swallowed. He felt a surge like cold water through his veins, and his breathing began to calm. He didn’t even realize he was breathing heavily until now. This was only a temporary fix though. He only had one more vial of Spirit’s Breath, and if he didn’t get out of this town soon, he’d very likely be dead before the day was over.
Faust inhaled deeply and made a risky choice. He activated his scansight. His eyes glowed a faint electric blue, and the fog seemed to fade from existence entirely.. at least, up to about 5 meters away. He breathed a sigh of relief, his eyes had finally stopped burning. But unfortunately, his scansight would now act as a second drain on his magic. Not to mention it prevented him from-
He halted, suddenly alert as a voice shouted in his direction. As his eyes locked on the figure in the distance, the one who had to be shouting at him since there was no one else in the area, his stomach seemed to clench into a knot. The source of the anti-signal. Faust couldn’t tell who or even what it was. His scansight let him analyze things, but it also reduced the things he saw into raw data. He couldn’t tell if he was looking at a person or an animal or… something worse, but by the sheer amount of hatred and negative energy coming from it… it couldn’t be friendly. Faust raised his hand and pushed his hand outward.
Ball_Lightning.mag
A ball of crackling blue electricity formed in front the mage’s hand and shot towards the distant figure like a bullet.

Two years, two years since you made that choice. The choice to side with your new partner, and become what at one point the single thing you hated the most. An accomplice to murder. Two years ago you burned that paper, that would have convicted the true killer, Tohru Adachi as guilty. That day destroyed the Yosuke Hanamura everyone thought they knew, as Adachi took you, ripped you apart and rebuilt you.
Teaching you that bonds are illusions, connections are worthless, the world is shit, and that all you need is yourself. You knew that he was right and broke or reversed most of those bonds you made during the case except for two. The Magician and the Jester both are strong enough to never be broken. You looked up and away, only seeing clearly in this fog that you’ve returned to through these glasses Teddie made you awhile ago. The only reason you are back here in this fog filled town is because Adachi wasn’t answering his phone.
What you returned to was not what you wanted. All of your friends alive and looking to you as the leader. They still don’t know that you abandoned them for Adachi, saying that the change in attitude was a lot of family pressure and drama that was getting to you. The smiles you wore now was a facade, an illusion so you can use them to find the one person you wanted. Adachi
You heard a noise, and your kunai were out in an instant. You didn’t pull out your Persona just yet, but you glanced around.
Who’s there?
You asked a bit harshly but with all the talks about bonds and how things used to be. All of it was a pain in the ass and you hated it. But you just kept the leader act up, to keep you and him safe.

The programmer’s head tilted in mild puzzlement. He wasn’t sure why he was - he checked his gauntlet - almost 7,000 miles from his office, but he did know he had a startling tendency to wander. Sometimes his wandering lead him into the fender of a car at 70mph, or into a long fogotten underground temple, to even different dimensions. Even stranger, he wasn’t even sure why he was eavesdropping on a conversation happening nearby. It didn’t concern him in the slightest, though he was amused by the blue capped male’s tone. It sounded as if he was striking out with someone, or perhaps inviting a seemingly disinterested friend somewhere? Regardless, Faust found the man’s manner of speech fascinating.
Faust gave a brief chuckle before rifling his hands through the pouch on the front of his belt. The cartridges within gave a small clacking sound as they rustled together. Considering the absolutely preposterous way Faust dressed, choosing to wear traditional mage’s robes, it was nothing short of a miracle he hadn’t been stopped or confronted by the police. Or maybe they thought he was in some sort of strange cosplay? Regardless, the technomancer continued searching. Honestly, why did he have to carry so many of these things? It made finding the poper teleportation spells nigh impossible.
“Hey, y’know what we should do? Go to the beach.
Y’know, cuz of the…like, water. And sand. And bikinis and shit.”

It wasn’t unusual for some shipments to be sent to the wrong individuals. However, it was unusual for these shipments to be sent into alternate dimensions by mere accident. Though this wasn’t an event without precedent, as some M.A.N.A Gauntlets sometimes were mistakenly packaged with spell cartridges already installed, instead of in seperate packaging. All it would take was the proper movement of the gauntlet, and an entire shipment could be accidentally banished to another dimension.
Faust had done his due dilligence and tracked each individual gauntlet. It was a good thing he’d had the foresight to include tracking software on each of them that was hooked up to the main database. It was, of course, against his company’s regulations to monitor HOW the gauntlets were being used, as that would be a gross violation of customer privacy. But WHERE they were being used was totally fair game, so long as the information could not be used as evidence during any potential criminal proceedings.
The technomancer had input the matching dimensional frequencies into his own gauntlet, and had begun retrieving the lost gauntlets.
“Greetings! Ah, I see you found one of my gauntlets. Might I request it be given back?” He asked politely.

An intro to spell extensions, by Faust.
Greetings new hires of Manasoft. My name is Faust Vaugn Volker, and I am here to begin this 16 hour orientation by talking to you about spell extensions. Spell extensions are incredibly important as they describe the branch of spell the M.A.N.A will execute. Different branches use mana in different ways, so it is important to make sure you use the right ones. For some, like accidentally turning Hellpyre.hex into Hellpyre.mag, the difference will merely turn the spell unusable. For others, such as turning Holy_shield.hly into Holy_shield.rtl, it will cause the user to entirely exsanguinate themselves and die. So please keep in mind the necessity of making sure spell extensions are consistent and appropriate.
Manasoft uses the following spell extensions:
.mag : The .mag extension specifies simple arcane magic, such as psionic or non-elemental bursts of magic. This extension also houses buffing and debuffing spells that are unaligned to either holy or hexing magic. Basically, if it doesn’t fit anywhere else, put it here.
.hex : The .hex extension is used for any type of magic that would be classified as ‘dark’. To be more specific, this branch of magic utilizes a combination of anger or malice in the user alongside their raw mana. Hexes can be anything from damaging to debuffing to draining spells, but casting them always requires malicious intent.
.hly : The .hly extension, or Holy extension, is essentially the opposite of hexing magic. Holy magic can be used for buffing, healing, or even damage if your intentions are righteous. Holy magic draws upon faith and hope alongside raw mana.
.rtl : The .rtl extension, or Ritual extension, is magic that is cast at a price. Ritual spells don’t always require the use of the caster’s magic, but they always require the sacrifice of something. This branch is also known as blood magic, but as not all blood magic is ritual magic, we choose to only call it ritual magic. Ritual magic can do anything, even summoning which the other branches can’t easily do. Ritual magic is also restricted to level 4 and above programmers, due to the inherently dangerous nature of this branch.
Now that we are done with extensions, let’s move onto the exciting world of magical languages! I will now run you through the 274 different languages we use here at Manasoft! First is…
