One story about me I keep wanting to tell, but keep changing my mind because I think people will say I'm lying (and/or shit on me about my taste in music), is about going to an Imagine Dragons concert a while back.
I was sitting in one of the fixed companion seats beside a few more companion seats and some wheelchair spaces. There was a man in a wheelchair in one of the spaces, his partner, and their child. Said child was maybe eight, I don't know, I'm super bad at ages, and was bouncing off the walls.
The dad was visibly frustrated, especially after getting water spilt on him, and the mum went to get more water, and the child was still wound up, because the support act (The Temper Trap) hadn't started yet, and they were in a VERY BIG PLACE with LOTS OF NOISE.
So I just leaned over and said, 'Hey, bud, what's your favourite Imagine Dragons song?'
Kiddo turned to me and started telling me all about their favourites, which led to them asking me, 'Do you know Minecraft?'
I said, 'No! Tell me all about it!'
They chattered away to me until the support act came on, then we all enjoyed the music, and their parents looked so relieved. All it took was just listening to someone for like fifteen minutes when they were visibly not dealing well with the situation.
Sometimes all someone needs is for someone else to show a little interest in what they're into so they don't feel so ignored or overwhelmed.

i don’t think people understand how much of life is grief. not just people dying, but losing the version of yourself you thought you’d become. grieving the city you had to leave. the friends you lost not in argument, but in silence. the summer that will never come back. the feeling that maybe you peaked at 12 when you were reading books under the covers and believing in forever

The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.
Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.
So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.
Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.

is this a safe space to say that the additions to the LGBT flag (“progress flag”) are well meaning but undermine the fact that the original colors symbolized vague concepts that could apply to anyone, rather than signifying specific types of human beings, which is, ironically, more “exclusionary” since it begs the question of why “X specific group of humans” aren’t being represented in the imagery now. the original flag completely avoided that conundrum. also it’s a little ugly. But don’t mind me lol.
#i totally get this and i kind of agree#however i really like chevrons so the first iteration of the prog pride flag is what we got for the flagpole#that's really it#that and i think in recent years the trans flag colors are a lot more critical even with an imperfect flag design

My silly little queer game about lesbians getting involved in ancient feuds between old gods is finally launching! On the 24th!
It's really REALLY choice driven - multiple endings and paths through the story, if you get into the lore you'll be playing it again and again.
AND it's super queer!
You can wishlist it here and there's a intro demo for it there too :)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3100650/Quantum_Witch/
edit: WOW FOLKS! You have made an INCREDIBLE difference over the past few days!! We have a real chance of hitting the magic 7500 wishlists that it takes for steam to actually care about showing the game to people!
So if that happens before launch, I'll donate the first £1000 of sales to Mermaids, a charity here in the UK that helps trans kids.
Seriously, you've made this big ol' gay gal making this from her back bedroom do a little happy cry.
