Random little study tips from a very stressed student that should be studying rn
Figure out what study cicle works for you, some people can study 120min/10min break, others might do 40/5 or 60/10. See how long you can concentrate without needing a break, and how long you need your breaks to be. Remeber EVERYONE works diffrent, eficiency doesn't always look the same.
Note taking, *sigh*, it's a complicated subject, to sum it up, do whatever works for you, don't try to force a certain method, if you do you'll just make revising harder
DRINK A LOT OF WATER shouldn't need to explain this... right??
get a comfy chair for the love of god, i swear even with a comfy one i get bad backaches since i have to spend 15 hours on my desk
Make a list of resources that are useful FOR YOU
Make a bunch of study playlists for every mood
Romaticise the hell out of studying, otherwise life as a student will be very bleak lol
ORGANIXATION ORGANIZATION ORGANIZATION i swear it makes 100% the diffrence, it can be on an app on your phone or a bullet journal, or notion (my fav) just find the one that works for you and use it RELIGEOUSLY

a pretty slow but rad session in pharma this afternoon. was sleepy so i had a jasmine tea with me!! i am not over the tranquil, cold study vibes from yesterday so i put ac on, turned on the lamp, and put a fire crackling with a raining sound bg while studying 😌
i’m going to memorize next what i just studied this afternoon (lipid-lowering drugs, GIT, anti-IBS drugs, respi drugs), have dinner, and go to my fave coffee shop to study with my med school friends the rest of the pharma topics for tomorrow’s exam (anti-seizure, anesthetics, drugs of abuse, analgesics, and anti-gout meds)!!! 🥳🥳

Reminder that ‘aesthetic’ does NOT equal how rich you are. I’m sick and tired of seeing apple products and expensive stationary and fancy rooms labeled as aesthetic. Aesthetic is dependent on the person’s taste in color theory and composition and you shouldn’t be trying to buy expensive things just for aesthetic.

Day 8
Great app recommendation time.
The “Serial Reader” app comes with a simple, yet brilliant concept - splitting literature into bite-sized chunk of 10-15 minutes and deliver each “episode” to you each day. It’s free (with donation system and bells-and-whistles reward features). Ad-free! Also a bit of badge and messages of encouragement after you finish each episode. On iOS and Android.
I use the app to get me through the beginning of some books - Northanger Abbey, for example. Once I get past a certain point, I’m usually engrossed in the book enough that I switched to.
Currently reading: Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw

I'm a science student and much like every other student I'm so bad at time management. but I've gotten better by trying out new methods and have adapted to some of them. I've listed the techniques I follow to be more productive.
Schedule all major academic and personal events on a semester calendar. This may prevent becoming overwhelmed.
Develop effective study routines. For example, begin to study four days a week at 7 PM. Stop studying when tired.
Take 5 minutes to think about and note “to do” tasks for the next day before you stop studying or go to bed.
Brainstorm tasks to be done and then group items according to categories; nice vs. necessary or urgent vs. can wait.
Schedule hour–by–hour, course–by–course study time. Check off each topic as completed, smile, and enjoy a break.
Identify your peak learning times; schedule study times when you are most alert and able to focus and memorize.
Try out your schedule for at least one week. This provides a realistic picture of what you actually get done.
Consider a study warm–up by doing some easier tasks before attacking material that is more difficult.
i hope this helps<3 if you have any questions please feel free to ask and don't forget learning techniques vary from one person to the other. and hope we both get good grades :)
I'm also glad that my last post about study techniques helped. so if you need help with something specific don't hesitate to ask me :))

here are some techniques that i use to make my study hours better:
First, learn a general concept, second, learn a few facts and details, and third, identify a few examples.
Don’t sit for hours. Walk around and say the information aloud. Use a white board or flip chart to write and test your memory.
Use humor and association to help focus on and remember meaningless lists of facts.
Associate new with previously learned information. This enhances your ability to learn, integrate and retain it.
Take a timed, practice test in a room similar to the one in which you will be tested.
Take a few minutes after you read a selection to write a brief summary and then add two facts and examples.
Learn the elements of a diagram and then recreate it from memory on a blank page. Check accuracy and edit, if necessary.
Define a purpose for reading and then select a strategy for that purpose. Ask, “Should I survey, skim, or read closely?”
Study with the sound of your own voice. If you’re going to class (and you should be), you might as well make the time you spend taking notes count. When you get the due date for a test, record yourself reading your notes that you took in class, and be sure to include any of your own personal commentary to better understand the material. This takes very little time (depending on how fast/slow you read your notes), and then later when you’re walking to and from class, you can pop your earbuds in and listen to the sweet sounds of portable studying. Now any time you are just going about basic, mundane activities – showering, doing laundry, cleaning – can also be spent studying. Multitasking at its finest.
Put your phone to work. You reach for your phone at least a million times a day (that’s a made-up, but potentially realistic statistic), so why not let it help you do some studying? Make your phone background or lock screen into a study guide. Put formulas, keywords, or class material that you need to know front and center. Every time you go to pick up your phone, you’ll be confronted with the study material, and have a very mini-study session available to you in your pocket at all times.
Leave yourself love study notes. The whole point of this one is to get the material in front of your eyes as much as possible. Whether it’s posting some flashcards by your mirror, or keeping some reading material by the toilet (hey, that’s a bit of free time), putting your study material in the places you frequent the most makes you more likely to be reminded of the things you need to know. Not only will this jog your memory, but it will also make the class material front and center, reminding you to be thinking about it and perhaps even nestling itself in your brain for later recall.
also don't forget the pomodoro technique, it's really effective and it really boosted up the duration of my study hours. hope we both get good grades :) please keep in mind that these may work out for some and not for others. it helped me and i hope it does to you as well.
there's nothing wrong in seeking help when you need it. you got this champ!
