Stumbled upon this Mayan art and crafts shop exploring the indigenous village of Santiago and had a perfect Guatemalan breakfast here - eggs, black beans, plantains, tortillas and locally grown coffee. . Lanchas at the lake come every 15minutes or so and only leave the dock in main villages once the boat is full. . We were in an Airbnb with a private dock, but it was easy to flag one down by waving. . The only way to get around Lake Atitlán. These water taxis (locals call them lanchas) fill up quickly with indigenous Mayans young and old commuting between villages and tourists backpacking in from all parts of the world.
