I love being driven slightly mad because I cannot recall/find the lyrics to a song I sang in friggin' elementary school about the Lost Colony.
I swear it was called Legend of the Lost Colony, but I cannot recall who wrote it and the one website I found with the lyrics once upon a time has since been buried all the years later.
What I do recall is under the cut -
"400 years ago, in 1584, Sir Walter Raleigh's Englishmen landed on our shores"
"In just a year, they reappeared, to build a colony."
"And it was there Virginia Dare went down in history, firstborn in America with English ancestry"
"They were lookin' for gold where it couldn't be found, nothin would grown in the frozen ground. How could they know they were gonna be the legend of the lost colony?"
"And so the story goes, where Spanish moss still grows, the fate of those poor Englishmen no one really knows."
There are other snippets I recall, but not full lines. Oh, it is driving me up the wall while I am working because these pieces keep replaying in my head.

Promphet here!
Don't forget that prompts are run off of follower submissions to this blog - if there is something you want to see then please feel free to send it in! The more submissions the better!
Also, since this is an art blog, I know I have both artists and art followers on here - if anyone knows some cool artists that do book cover illustrations or would be willing, drop their tumblr/website/etc. in the notes please! I'm not saying commissioning is happening tomorrow or anything, but the goal is to have the book published or publishing by EOY 2025, so I would like to start looking more in depth now. I have one or two artists in mind, but other options are fantastic. I know what I want, generally, for at least the front cover, but I also recognize that I don't have the technical skills to execute it in a way I feel will be worthy of an actual book. Which is going to be self published. Preferably someone comfortable with both human and canine feature, as one is a human and one I would prefer to have in her werewolf form. Hopefully this makes sense, but I am also working as I type this so I haven't properly double checked it. Thought to throw it on to the quick submission reminder however. For anyone who responds, thank you!

Can't believe that part of writing a book that's being the biggest pain right now is that I keep swinging between two names for the male main character.
It's (YA?) Contemporary Fantasy. Werewolves! This male main lead is not the werewolf, the female lead is - and her name is 100%.
Took some of my friends opinions and Asante won by like, 2? But Khalid was the first I had so still going between both choices.

I love running Drawing-Prompt-s, and in no way am I giving it up, but that isn't to say that running the blog hasn't hurt as well.
Like, recently I started diving deeper for prompts that haven't been seen for some time and never got their chances. I'm talking like 2018/17. I don't even remember what year the blog was made or when I took over. But I've been going back.
And while I've been scrolling I've found some of the sweetest messages that I've seen. So excited about the way I respond to art, giving much encouragement! Etc. I even keep a screenshot folder of my favorite ones when I find them.
But that isn't to say that everyone shares the same sentiment. And I can't say that it hasn't affected how I post over the years (and was partially responsible for me initial absence for, what was it, a year? More?). Just scrolling through all these wonderful prompts only to see someone calling me a bitch out of the blue. Or the Pride Mythos creature discourse years ago - with people harassing myself and the artist - in my own inbox calling me every name they could think of, or insulting me as a bi woman, saying I was faking it, perpetuating hate. I remember that for to such a point that the artist had to reach out to me asking for me to remove their art. It was a little bi pride colored unicorn captioned with a joke (because there is a huge joke amongst those in the bi community that people would believe in unicorns before us, or because couples looking for a bi person to have a threesome with are called "Unicorn Hunters"). And I stand by my original stance with that issue, I only removed it for the same of that artist. I just found more hate about it and I blocked all of them. But that, and messages similar absolutely still bother me; the ones saying "well you run a blog of 72+ thousand people, it's your fault you upset some of them, just don't be dumb and only post safe content, they're mostly minors." A rather crude sum up, but it gets their point across. It was 72k+ at the time, now it's 78k+. But that's affected how I post. Not because I want it to, but because it's always there in the back of my head. I also don't agree isn't mostly minors following me, but at no point was this blog ever designated as a minors only space - adults do art, and they deserve to tackles prompts or pieces that relate to their experiences too.
Or the one individual I had forgotten about even before that making prompt after prompt sexualizing The Prompt Prophet, my persona here. Made even worse by the fact I was a minor when they were sending those - those is not a fact I think they were aware of because they also kept forgetting I'm a woman, and constantly called me a man early on.
I don't know where I'm going with this. It's late and I still need to Q the art for the week. Just seeing so much hate absolutely cuts. Even now.
The blog is still amazing. As are many of my followers. I wouldn't be here without you all. But that isn't to say it hasn't had the occasional adverse affect running @drawing-prompt-s .

I just wanted to share my version of Princess Luna honestly, so reblogging it here too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Princess Luna - redesign
+bonus "Aurora" version.
I did one of these a few years ago (in 2019, linked here), but I was never really happy with how that Luna came out. I like this one a lot better though.
Might make some tweaks here and there eventually, but for now, this is good.
Thanks for killing the quality though, Tumblr. Click and you might get better resolution.

Long shot but does anyone have ideas or wanna shout of some possibilities of what this manga could be?
Sorry I can't be more specific, it's been a hot minute since I've seen it and I think I only had one copy?
It's a video game/monster based manga. Like some kids get holds of these video game systems and they summon actual monsters to fight and defend them in real life. They can gain and collect more. Etc.
There was either a video game based on it or it was based on a video game? I think??

I was missing my lost kitty, Salem (left), a lot tonight; Jolene (right) was cuddling me and I just got emotional and ended up making new phone wallpapers for both my lost and current feline companions.

Sorry, had a lot of people today alone suggesting I not try to return her. One said it's bc they were too pessimistic and there was no way to know how she got out. If someone read my cats chip and then didn't return her because of that I'd be in jail for life bc I would absolutely just be a savage animal for that. She was deeply cared for and loved and still is - because I'm refusing to give up. A lot of pets go missing and are searched for and so many just never make it home. It's got me a little wired at this point.
But yeah, no, animal control isn't allowed to do that here. I planned to call surrounding ones tomorrow. We have no idea how long she's been out or how far she's gone. But even then, at least I could know and work to find her the home she deserves. She's sweet as pie, but it won't be with me.
Tumblr media
Well, me and my roommate have a house guest for now.
I did not adopt her, I am not keeping her.
The main office of the apartments I live at let her into their building when she showed up at their front door today.
She's a lanky little thing, but she is certainly still under a year old. Very sweet and lovable - a major cuddle bug. Has to be on top of you. Very squirmy - getting a picture of her was not an easy task. We needed one to post on the found pet sites - just in case. She is almost skin and bone though, so she has been outside for a while by now.
They called me because none of them could take her home, but they didn't want to dump her at the pound, and thought I may either want her or would be able to hold her.
She's also injured on her hind leg. It looks like she fell/got caught on a fence or something and it punctured pretty deep into her leg. Part of it is healing but some of it isn't and it looks pretty bad, honestly. Has to be a bit old though because it doesn't seem to bother her too badly.
I have no idea what the vet is going to cost though, because I do have to take her in tomorrow - that isn't an option. She needs to have that puncture looked at and wrapped and she needs to be checked for a chip. Plus she is mostly skin and bone - when she stands up you can tell she has been starving for a while now. So some of the money that was sent for Salem and for rent will need to cover that.
But I did want you guys to see this little guest at the moment. And I had someone ask if I was getting a different cat - and this has solidified my answer. No. At least not for now, and probably not for more than a few months if it can be helped.
Besides, you know when an animal just will not work for you long-term? She is a sweet little baby, and so lovable, but she isn't right for me. If she had an original owner though and they cannot be reached, I will make sure I find this little girl a good home. So not expecting to have this little guest for long - but she'll be in good hands while she is here at least.

Our shelter actually does not microchip their animals, they also do not keep records of microchips that come in. They do check for them, but they do not microchip. They also don't keep animals with unregistered chips - their policy is that if an animal comes in with an unregistered chip then they actually send them to one of the local no-kill rescues they cooperate with.
I have to talk to them on a regular basis regarding my own missing cat and called them specifically today about this.
While that might be the case, considering the amount of misinformation, and the fact we were able to locate the vet she was chipped at, I'd rather put the work in to try and find her owners. If it turns out she was abandoned then I'll find her a good home or foster network. But I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt, bc until my cat went missing, I wasn't aware her chip was set up wrong either. A lot of people don't realizeor understand what/how a microchip works (learned that from my door-to-door search). And from experience, the shelters here usually don't give any information after chipping. If she was adopted from a foster they also might now have given the chip company information. Again, like what happened with mine.
I'm not taking the chance at the moment. Because if someone is missing her then I would really rather get her back to them.

So we took her to the vet. Well, I did.
She's over a year old and her leg is healing up just fine on its own - which is fantastic to hear.
Someone had to be looking for her, because she DOES have a microchip, BUT it isn't registered.
Which, okay, a lot of people don't seem to know how to register microchips or how they work in general. So many think they you can track them with a microchip and I wish they either that way - I'd have Salem back by now - but they just show a code that you register with the company and it offers your info too the basically micro database so if your pet is found then you can be located. But you have to register and pay.
But she is plastered up everywhere they I can right now so we can try and find whoever is looking for her. Someone had to be. Maybe they gave up, but we might still be able to reach them. I'd love to see her go home, I can't hold her forever.

LOST CAT - PEMBROKE, NC
Hello all,
different post than normal.
Tumblr media
My beloved cat, Salem, got scared and slipped her harness February 7th, 2023, at roughly 10:30 pm - 11 pm, in Pembroke, NC.
As of Feb 10th, Salem is still missing.
I live at some of the apartments out there, which is around where she escaped.
Salem is very skittish and shy, and is an indoor only cat. She has never been on her own before and I am incredibly worried about her. I have been doing everything that I can think of to try and get her back or get people on the lookout for her.
While I know this is mostly focused on the Pembroke Town/Robeson County area of NC, you never know who lives where when they follow you.
She is a calico/tabby mix (brown-grey/white/orange), medium/long hair. She has yellow-green eyes. She is roughly 10lbs. And she is almost 2 years old. She is microchipped.
I have alerted every shelter, animal control, vet, facebook page, etc, within the next 50 miles. And that isn't a joke - one place is in the next state. I have contacted every apartment complex. I even have an Instagram ad running about her within a 10 mile radius (it would not let me do more). Tomorrow (02/10) I am printing flyers and putting them up. I have her litter box, dry food, wet food, fresh water and her mat outside. I have my door wide open. And I have been physically walking and calling for her in the area.
Any and all tips are being taken at this time, either message me here or at the number listed on her Missing picture. Thank you.
There is one site I posted this too that has something called Lost pet Cards (24PetConnect). In which they get the mailing addresses for the area, print little cards, and expedite them to everyone in the vicinity. Their smallest amount is 500 cards, and while costly, it would help get the word out because this is a very dispersed and secluded little town. So paypal and GoFundMe are linked - anything helps.
Lost Pet Postcard Fundraiser!! ($690/$760 for 1,000 cards)
We are currently just $70 away from the goal and then I can order the cards.
PayPal (for those that prefer it).
Tumblr media
Any and all help is appreciated. I just want my beanie-baby safe here at home. She is my world, and not having her here is tearing me up. I'm wearing myself thin searching for her.
