Updated Prophecies of Doom Masterpost
Submissions for Volume 1 of the Prophecies of Doom fandom anthology are now closed. Submissions for Volume 2 will close on December 1st, 2025 at 11:59 pm CST/UTC-6. Submissions for Volume 3 will open on December 2nd, 2025 at 12:00 am CST/UTC-6.
Submissions guidelines are as follows:
All subjects welcome as long as they are appropriately tagged. Please include whether the work can be considered NSFW and if so what content warnings apply, including but not limited to: nudity, sex, violence, gore, blood, kinks or fetishes. Additional tags may be added with the artist’s approval.
Writing including ficlets, fic excerpts, essays, commentary, poetry, song lyrics, or other writing. The word limit will not apply to future volumes but please do not submit entire multi-chapter fics.
Visual art in digital format to be printed at 3.5" x 4.5"/9 cm x 11.5 cm or smaller. This may include drawings, sketches, memes, photographs of crafts or cosplay, or others subject to approval.
Submissions not fitting any of the above categories may be accepted, such as sheet music, craft tutorials, digital or physical merch or extras, and others subject to approval.
Email your submission to [email protected] with the title of your submission, what name you would like to be credited as, and NSFW labels and content warnings if applicable. Any changes made to submissions will be subject to approval, so keep an eye out for followup emails. If you cannot be reached, your piece may be excluded.
If you would like to participate in a collaborative piece for the zine those are as follows:
A yearbook style page of original characters: Submit a picture of your original character (think school portrait, but feel free to make it silly) with their name, relationship to Astor, your name and/or what fic or AU they’re from, and a senior quote or superlative (optional). Self insert and selfship characters welcome. You may submit your original character without a drawing.
A yearbook style page of your versions of Astor with the above information. All Astors welcome. You may also submit your Astor without a drawing.
An essay on Astor memes and shitposts. Submit your favorite fandom jokes for an essay on the history of the Astor fandom. Include where you were when it happened, how you participated, screenshots of posts, or simply what goofs and sillies you feel are important to our history.
Ideas for future collaborative pieces subject to approval.
The full, digital version of the zine will be available online for free. Curated and/or printed versions will be extras and not contain additional material in the zine itself. There will be a safe for work version of the zine. NSFW pieces will not be censored, but excluded. If you would like to submit a censored version of your piece to be included in safe for work versions of the zine alongside the uncensored version you may, or else your piece will not appear in the safe for work versions.
FAQ under the cut
Q: Are submissions open indefinitely? A: Essentially, yes. Regular updates will come out after Astorvember every year as long as submissions continue to come in.
Q: Can I submit digital submissions such as videos and gifs? A: Yes, tentatively. The full, free version of the zine will be published as a PDF, and I may be able to embed gifs, videos, or hyperlinks. Digital extras outside of the main zine were always welcome as a category of submission, so go ahead and submit them. If you want these submissions to be included in the physical zine, please include a thumbnail and summary.
Q: How many submissions are you looking for? A: As many as y'all got! No limit, go wild.
Q: Can I submit more than one piece? A: Submit as many pieces as you want. Seriously, no limit.
Q: Who can submit works? A: Anyone! Submissions are very specifically and intentionally open to anyone and everyone instead of taking applications and selecting artists to create a piece specifically for the zine.
Q: Can I submit works I’ve already posted? A: Yes, this zine is intended to be a collection and celebration of the last four years of the fandom. All works are welcome, no matter how old they are or how many people have seen them. This also very much includes pieces from this or last year’s Astorvember.
Q: Can I post the piece I submitted? A: Yes, if you want. You can post it, say it was submitted to the zine, post it and don’t say it was submitted, or keep the whole thing secret. You can change your mind and post it after submissions close, before the zine is released, whatever you want.
Q: Will there be physical merch? A: Possibly, still working out logistics. Proposals for physical merch are one of the categories of submissions, email [email protected] with ideas for things like pins, stickers, keychains, etc. Handmade items are welcome and encouraged if you have the time!
Q: I still have a question. A: Send me an ask, a message, email the submissions email, send a flock of birds to follow me around, reach me in my dreams, whatever. If you need something clarified or reiterated, go ahead and ask. If you’re unsure about your submission, go ahead and ask. If there’s a secret third thing, go ahead and ask.

A small update to the submission guidelines:
Since the word limit on text submissions was always intended to be a rough guide, anyone can submit as many pieces as they want, and there have been few text submissions thus far there will be no limit in future editions. Starting now, with submissions for volume 2, there will be no limit on text submissions.
That said, in the spirit of the original limit please do not submit entire multi-chapter fics.
In light of this change an updated masterpost for volumes 2 and beyond will be coming soon.
