like i need people to be normal about discussions of abuse in a way that’s nuanced that involves characters they and i like who aren’t inherently bad people bc that’s actually important if I’m gonna write anything remotely realistic actually. but I’m scared people won’t.

I’m always so anxious whenever i write a character as an abuser especially if that’s not canonically the case because I’m so scared people will see me as a “character anti” or whatever when if I’m that comfortable writing them at their worst I love them. this is mostly about susie haltmann tbh i adore her and i don’t think she’s irredeemable or anything but she does some absolutely terrible awful shit to meta knight in kiauu when i get to planet robobot which is not bc i think she's evil but bc a character who isn't able to be written off by meta as “inherently evil and irredeemable forever” acting in awful possessive abusive ways towards him was important for the themes of the story. as is her genuinely learning and choosing to be a better person! bc she was mentally ill and genuinely so poorly socialised she didn’t know what she was doing there was in any way wrong! but i also feel this way about like. anything. ever. harassment sure is fun ig
