mop on his skull, eh? well, that’s one way to avoid sound repetitive! his lips draw back, revealing a set of crooked teeth as his head pops-up above the fridge door, a leftover chicken leg fit snugly in his mouth (and yes, it’s cold).   ‘   you watch too many fantasy dramas, lady tabitha.   ’     he mumbles around the delicious fried meat-stick, grin broadening a bit before he dives back in to look for…whatever he was supposed to be looking for. the hell was he looking for? he steps back from the fridge and shuts the door, nothing in there but frozen meat- he’s craving all of the sugary, calorie-rich stuff after a few very generous hits of mj. he’ll probably end up helping himself to another ice cream, cream cheese, and nutella wrap with a side of cheez its- dee-licious!    

‘   now, i guess?  pft- yeah, go for it.  ’   his mom has the godawful habit of using his hair to experiment with new styles, colors and cuts to avoid breaking the bank, so he’s used to having his hair fondled with in this fashion.

          ❛          ugh,   ezra   aren’t   you   gonna   HEAT   that   up   ?          ❜          a   grimace   appears   on   her   features.   tabitha   mitchell’s   parents   were   strict   but   loving.   she   was   far   too   MONITORED   by   them   to   be  able   to   enjoy   REGULAR   teen   fun   that   consisted   of   RECREATIONAL   DRUGS,   tattoos   and   dye.   employers,   colleges   and   family   would   DESPISE   such   acts.   therefore,   tabi   resorted   to   keeping   the   more   CAREFREE   people   in   her   age   group   close.   a   part   of   her   believes   maybe   . . .   just   maybe   !   she   could   live   vicariously   through   them.   popping   on   the   couch,   lithe   legs   move   to   get   him   to   sit   between   them.   her   nose   SCRUNCHES   up   in   distaste---   he   smells   CARELESS   and   the   mitchell   girl   considers   CONVINCING   him   to   jump   in   a   shower.   fingers   run   through   unruly   locks   and   she   tsks,          ❛          if   i   get   SCISSORS,   would   you   put   up   a   FIGHT   ?          ❜

                          EYES WIDEN SLIGHTLY while his brows arch but not in a manner of a man offended but rather extremely amused by her little jab at his age and health. “ you know i always liked you, mitchell. “ he admitted as he reached in and popped a piece of fruit into his mouth a moment later while leaning back in the chair he took up near to her. “ uh my secret is every time i wanna sit back and watch cable for hours and eat a bag of chips alone on my sofa i s l a p myself and take a walk. lots of walks. “ he spoke his tone teasing but his look toying with her as if he was dead series, he was half series. 

          a   giggle   passes   parted   lips   as   a   hand   moves   to   CALM   an   excitable   chest.   for   a   man   who   INSTILLED   a   healthy   amount    of   fear   in   students,   he   was   always   a   full   of   mirth.   his   words   make   your   head   shake.   surely   he   couldn’t   be   SERIOUS,   but   it   was   always   difficult   to   tell.   tabitha   isn’t   one   for   teacher’s   GOSSIP,   but   she   WONDERED   how   he   wasn’t   SNATCHED UP   by   someone   special.   in   addition,   donovan’s   POKER FACE   was   immaculate   in   that   sense.   it   was   no   SKIN   off   his   back   to   joke   his   way   out   of   PRYING   questions,          ❛          sounds   like   we   need   to   get   you   a   PUPPY   or   something   !   keep   you   as   ACTIVE   as   possible   !          ❜

she  was  a  kind  woman  ,    anybody  could  see  that  ,    he  was  grateful  for  everything  she  did  for  his  niece  ,    but  he  was  not  prepared  to  discuss  the  loss  of  his  brother  and  his  sister  in  law  ,    it  was  a  wound  that  was  still  FRESH  ,    and  it  wasn’t  in  kamden’s  nature  to  be  vulnerable  with  people  .    he  nodded  ,    swallowing  thickly  .    losing  his  brother  ,    especially  ,    proved  to  be  the  most  difficult  thing  he’d  ever  faced  .    he  quickly  brought  himself  back  to  reality  ,    inhaling  sharply  as  a  hand  came  into  contact  with  his  shoulder  .      ❛      uh  ,    thank  you  .    i’m  doing  the  best  i  can  .    it’s  nice  of  you  to  offer  ,    but  i’m  fine  ,    really  .    i  don’t  need  to  talk  about  it  .      ❜      (    that  was  a  lie  ,    he  definitely  did  ,    but  he  refused  to  acknowledge  that  .    )      ❛      she  does  ?    that’s  really  sweet  of  her  .    she’s  only  three  and  she’s  already  talking  about  motorcycles  .      ❜

          ❛          of   course   !   no   worries   !   but   uh,   yeah   !   she   wants   to   ride   one   with   a   ‘   fire   hat   ‘   ?   she   actually   painted   it   !   let    me   just   . . .          ❜          she   turns,   rummaging   through   doodles   and   finger   paints   that   COVER   the   arts   and   crafts   area.   the   piece   in   focus   is   slipped   from   under   the   MASSES   and   presented   to   the   uncle   with   a   SMILE.   tabitha   is   proud   of   anastasia’s   artistic   ability   the   same   way   she   was   proud   of   every   other   child’s   splotches   of   brown   labeled   ‘   dog   ’.  a   kid’’s   happiness   seemed   to   be   put   above   her   own   and   this   is   okay   for   the   meantime.   the   MOURNING   will   come   later---   like   clockwork.   she’ll   close   up   the   building   and   drive   home  alone.   she’ll   enter   her   house.   know   it   remains   vacant   and   make   herself   DINNER.   and   as   she   lies   down   to   sleep,   emotions   will   RUN HIGH,   and   tabitha   mitchell   will   remember   the   roundness   of   her   belly   and   the   warmth   of   adam’s   touch   as   he   draped   his   arm   around   her.   she   will   weep   and   sob   and   wake   up   fresh   and   ready   to   ENDURE   it   again,          ❛          a   picasso   in   the   MAKING,   i   think.   she   spends   a   lot   of   time   with   the   paints.          ❜

he  was  appreciative  of  everything  the  daycare  did  for  him  ,    he  was  still  adjusting  to  the  life  of  being  a  full  time  provider  ,    it  wasn’t  easy  ,    but  he  also  didn’t  want  people  to  be  under  any  sort  of  impression  that  he  couldn’t  handle  it  or  that  he  needed  additional  assistance  .      ❛      thanks  for  the  offer  ,    but  i  kind  of  miss  the  kid  when  i  drop  her  off  ,    and  i  can’t  really  get  extra  working  hours  as  a  musician  ,    it’s  fine  .    i  like  spending  time  with  her  .      ❜      after  all  ,    she  was  all  he  had  left  of  his  brother  .
