I've been heavily considering moving my account and starting over. This post will be very long so if you don't wanna read it that's fine (I'll add a tldr at the end)

I started this blog back when i loved sky and just wanted a specific place to talk about it. It took me YEARS to slowly realize that i don't have the same love for it like i used to. Ever since season of moomin was announced i thought of it as an opportunity to just take a break and only play the game if i genuinely want to, and not just for the purpose of getting candles. I wasn't really that excited for the season to begin with probably because i dont know anything about moomin and i know i can just learn about it through the season but ehh idk man. Just my personal opinion i already thought the first quest was super slow and tedious as hell

Also not to mention some big criticism within the community is how expensive things are in sky and i agree. I think they're right when they say iaps are getting more and more expensive (inflation amiright) and they keep locking the cooler items behind the pass. I know the pass (for 1 person) is generally pretty cheap for what you're getting but i just don't think it's fair for people who simply don't want to spend money. Majority of the good stuff this season is behind the pass and i know the purpose of this is to convince players to buy the pass but it's just. Man i would love to enjoy a season and buy cool clothes without having to pay real money for it AGAIN

And before you say "sky is a social game. No one is forcing to buy anything stop complaining", i know no one is forcing me to buy things, but it sure feels like it. I've already made an ENTIRE other blog about this complaint and you can probably go look for it but can you think of anything in sky that's fun without spending money? That doesn't include talking with friends (which BY THE WAY still costs money just to unlock chat if you didn't friend them with a qr like? Why tf do you need to SPEND MONEY just to talk to someone???) almost everything in the game needs money to be enjoyed. You can enjoy the story sure, but you can't express yourself in a way that doesn't require buying SOMETHING

Also why does sky have so many bugs all the time. There is not a single update where something wasn't fucked up in the making. I know sky isn't perfect and I'm nowhere near a game development professional but how do you even do that

Anyways.. i just want a tumblr blog to start over completely and gain an audience that isn't so restricted to one interest. I like art, and that's way more broad than just sky art only because i VERY VERY VERRYYY rarely draw sky art. I for some reason don't find it super enjoyable to draw skykids (unless I'm getting paid for it which is why the majority of my sky art are commissions lmao)

Just judging by the attention my blogs and art received on here, i assumed the algorithm was a lot better than other apps. I felt like maybe doing an oc blog too would be beneficial since its something i actually enjoy and WANT to talk about instead of just. Occasionally mentioning sky just to complain about it lmaoo

how funny of me to say i complain too much about sky only to try and claim my seasonal candles and realize that dailies have been bugged. why

id like to talk about how nice the orange filter looks in golden wasteland. as much as i prefer the green (cus green is my favorite color) it doesn't fit the vibe as well as the fire glasses do lmao. it's called "golden wasteland" for a reason right? where's the gold??? i can see the wasteland part but the orange filter makes everything look more gold-like and the sky looks dirty, like a wasteland. i think the atmosphere is very fitting

(just wanted to be positive about sky for once because as a veteran who's been around since prophecy i've seen so many things that i think are pure ASS i feel old i need to appreciate the little things sometimes lmao)

I'm starting to really understand the people that say sky is becoming way too cosmetic based. this was already something I had as a complaint about sky since everything revolves around money to some capacity but the fact that the season just ended and days of style began IMMEDIATELY after really shows how tgc is just trying to shove events in our face all the time. I just stopped doing dailies for one day because i could finally take a break after unlocking everything in the season and now you're telling me i already have to go back and do it again?

don't get me wrong i love days of style but cmon couldn't you have just waited a couple days or so?? give us a break smh

opinion on the new quest? spoiler warning

what were your thoughts on the last season quest? my overall thoughts were that it was... kind of underwhelming tbh.. with such a huge area with tons of seats you would expect them to utilize most of it or maybe schedule an event where skykids can group together at the concert hall to watch something, kind of like the aurora concert (but not THAT many people yknow im just making a comparison). the final concert (at least in my expectations) could've been really cool and awesome and i understand the demos of the song were short in the previous quest for obvious reasons but for an actual performance.. the song was less than a minute long i think. idk in my personal opinion a whole song performance by two passionate reunited song writers should be like, a full song instead of like 30 seconds of an unfortunately not very catchy melody. i did like the beginning of the song like in the first few quests but from there on it doesn't really sound that great tbh. it's great if you like the song but i think its underwhelming and kind of uninteresting sorry. were my expectations just too high and dramatic for this season??? was i expecting too much?? i was kinda hoping for more

another thing is i kinda don't get why it was the abyss spirits specifically that we invited to the concert hall. at first i thought "why are we only taking the abyss spirits?? ohhh wait maybe we're doing all the seasons one by one!! or at least a few of them" but it ended up just being one season of spirits. season of performance did do the same thing with only valley spirits but at least that one was understandable because the theater is IN the village of dreams, which is a valley location. but abyss?? in concert hall?? i don't see the correlation. i think it would've been better to invite one spirit from every season. it would add more variety and make it seem more special. but i guess i understand if getting too many spirits would make it tedious but i just thought it was weird that it was just one specific season of spirits and not a variety. not really a big deal but so is everything i just said. its just my opinion im not tryna make a big deal out of it

(Edit: i didnt realize abyss was mentioned in the past quests, i forgot thats my bad)

my favorite thing was just the final animation at the end when the camera was zooming out and the duo were showing off only because it had unique animation that weren't emotes. those types of cutscenes are my favorites, the ones that the animators actually put effort into lmao. i'm not trying to get into why i strongly prefer these cutscenes because that would be going off on a tangent that's unrelated to this post

so what did you think of this finale? tldr for me it was....... ok... was expecting more tho

i've seen someone say that the season in general was very predictable which i totally agree with but that's not my main point here

it baffles me even more each time i see something that tgc implemented that has been requested by their fanbase a ton. I know its kinda weird to be so excited about this but i feel like companies listening to their fanbase is something that NEVER happens so when it does happen its insane

Vault of knowledge without cutscenes feels so strangely beautiful. Its so unreal i cant believe one of my most strongly requested things has finally been added its like a dream come true
