The art of war is of vital importance to the State. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected.

Reading The Firearm Blog a few days ago, I came across an article that showed some new colors in the works over at Magpul Industries for their MOE line.  Besides the standard colors you see today like olive drab green and flat dark earth, they're releasing what they call stealth grey and . . . pink.  Pink is getting to be a pretty popular color in the shooting world today with the significant increase in female shooters.  I just wish they'd come out with orange, but I guess it wouldn't be logical from a liability standpoint seeing as how orange is an indicator in both the hunting and the airsoft world.  That aside, it'd be good to see them extend the color selection across all their products, including the MIAD grip and the CTR stock.

I guess Dave Sevigny really did some impressive work at the 2012 IPSC Nationals.  I came across this video on Caleb's blog, Gun Nuts Media.

The Rules of Gun Safety
I wanted to start this blog correctly.
Anything gun-related must begin and end with the four rules of gun safety in mind.  I laugh to myself when I see a friend especially at an Anime convention holding a [piece of junk] airsoft rifle with complete lack of trigger discipline who then proceeds to tell me they've shot a gun before and that I should take them to the range.  You can't hold an airsoft rifle correctly; what makes you think I'd trust you with a real long gun?
It is important to follow the safety rules at all times.  Training "scars" are never a good thing especially with safety protocols; not following these rules even when playing airsoft, paintball or otherwise can [and will] translate to training scars and mistakes with the real deal.  As taught by the late Colonel John Cooper, please commit to the following:
One must treat every gun as if it were loaded.
One must not point the gun at anything that one is not willing to destroy.
One must keep the finger off of the trigger until ready to shoot.
One must know at all times what is in front of and behind the target.

A Letter of Introduction
Good Evening,
My name is Paul Valera and I am what society would call a gun enthusiast.  I would say that it is my largest hobby by far, but I also love playing video games and attending Anime conventions with my girlfriend and friends.  I am a CPA and currently work or a local accounting firm.
My friends know that I have a great fondness for the shooting hobby and often ask me technical things; some even ask me to take them shooting sometimes.  I created this blog partially as a source of knowledge and awareness for those friends.
I rarely go into politics and try be as least assertive about my beliefs as possible; my friends and I seem to have an unsaid rule of not talking about finance, politics or religion in order to minimize tense atmospheres.  As such, I do not intend to make this blog a political soapbox and I apologize in advance if I go on a tangent.
I also do not intend to make this blog an avenue for paid or "motivated" advertisement or endorsement.  I will post my thoughts on a particular product from time to time, but I will attempt to be as unbiased as possible and will disclaim any conflict of independence when applicable.
Thank you for reading.
Rgds,
PRPV
