there really is a fascinating phenomenon where the most rabid ML Posters who are the most pro china pro USSR posters take up political positions that are almost perfectly the opposite of the actually existing positions of the USSR and, more hilariously, contemporary China. Like wow you don't believe in age verification online? you think people should be able to freely and openly conduct sex work on the internet? you find pro family narratives and state incentives distasteful, and support the open and free association of homosexual relationships? You're anti draft? and you believe in open borders and free migration?
But you offer total and "uncritical support" for "actually existing socialism?" Is the actually existing socialism in the room with us right now

Double child prodigy whose spy work was so secretive his cover story was that he was working in the nuclear program and quit music to teach undergraduate math classes on the strength of a bachelor's degree from Harvard and refused interviews for the last 20 years of his life including when he without explanation put all of his music in the public domain is such a delightful mid-century American character.
