I’m gonna be moving everything from my cottage core side blog to my main over the next few weeks, but I don’t know how to do it other than create a queu of reblogs from this one 😭

it’s one thing to repair clothes, but how do you decide when to stop repairing them?
i hand-sewed this dress years ago from a worn-out linen bedsheet (along with another dress and three big pillow covers) and secondhand shell buttons. at this point the fabric is so threadbare it rips constantly, and i probably spend more time fixing it than wearing it.
the bodice could be lined and stitched to reinforce it, and if this were one of my only dresses it would be worth it. but honestly i have plenty of other clothes. i’ve gotten lots of use out of this, and the skirt fabric is still strong enough that i can make a couple napkins or tea towels and scrap the rest. i wanted to document it before i deconstructed it.

In all ways except physically, I am a gentle shepherd boy in a soft sweater knit from the wool of my flock taking a nap in the sun curled up with several of my sheep and my sheepdog after eating an apple I nicked from the neighbor’s orchard.
