PlayStation VR (PSVR) Buying Guide for 2019 Part 1

hey guys middle Jesus here and I'm back again with John Riggs and we have it for ya this is the PlayStation VR buyer's guide a lot of people been asking for this talking about the hardware talking about some of the must own games this is gonna be an awesome video I know let's take a look [Music] all right we're gonna start with the hardware sure okay here's the hardware yes it is literally a it's the this is your PlayStation VR you do need to have a PlayStation 4 to play it and we'll talk about that momentarily but it's all kind of all in here all in there it has this button now this is the model one there's a model 2 as well very important to know very important to know um this one the model 1 has the button on the bottom the model 2 has the button on the top simply enough you pull it out you put it over your head I can do this right oh well I've demo here I wear prescription glasses too and a lot of people have asked well I can't play it so I wear glasses no this is actually fit so you can wear glasses like the big ol thick ones I'm wearing even and it Lily just kind of slips on your head locks it into place look at this there's a little button on the back of all twisting if you really want to be locked in I never I never use that at all I find it actually really comfortable I mean surprisingly you know it said I mean for a relatively inexpensive VR device right by the way you look so cool right now I know it but I mean it is a kazuto I don't wear glasses and ER I find it to be very comfortable it's light it's well balanced which is key you can play it for you know a long period of time it doesn't feel like it's it's gonna be pushing forward or falling forward also to I guess one of the things that's really important to know is that you can calibrate it at any time if it does get off of center by holding down anything it's like the option button on your controller oh absolutely yeah and then once your playstation 4 recognizes that there is a psvr attached or involved you can also go in just through the settings and say okay you can like you know track your eyes where your where I placement is or anything like that I honestly haven't had to touch that a whole lot yeah but it's um it is it's really lightweight really comfortable it doesn't feel top-heavy there's some be our units that are like you know really thin in the back and then it has this huge ya chunk a clunk right in your for you so no the other part here and the one thing I would say is that L on here as far as version one versus versus version two sure is this right here is that little you can see it back here online so this is version 2 and it has these little things where you can put the headphones right it's a little star looking absolutely and then also on top of that to wear your headphone jack is back here the headphone jack on the model one is right here oh okay so the cord is also the desk the difference between the two as well and this cords a little bit more it's not bad but it's a little bit more cumbersome than the model two still works great though but then your volume control and your microphone or your headphone jack is in the cord while interesting on that device it's all it's all in the headset I don't know that see I've always - that's well there you go yeah so I started out with a motto I started out my brother had the model one this was the thing - because when this thing came out 400 bucks right right out of the game so you're paying 400 bucks for a Playstation for 400 bucks for a VR so I waited for about a year before I finally got one my brother had one day one so I borrowed his a few times and then when I finally I took the dive I got end up getting the model - and was happy with both so I played a lot model 1 model 2 on a Playstation 4 and both also on a Playstation 4 bro yeah so I guess now is a time to talk about sort of like the difference between you know I mean do you need a Playstation 4 Pro it helps yeah you don't need one though there is there's no difference is I can tell is there might be a little bit more definition some games you look at the back of the box and it says you know a PlayStation 4 Pro enhanced oh there's some more of a graphics thing so you might see a little bit more like if there's a pebble road maybe the pebbles look a little bit more defined you know the leaves and the trees but I'm so immersed playing these games that to me I don't notice a huge difference unless I see it side by side yeah okay all right so so that's the actual headset right there it is but this is a really important part of it right here so this is the what was it you look to some of the fellows it's the processing unit yeah so this changes as well depending on whether you have the original model or a second one so this is the original model right here which is the model one I like how it does that yeah it's protective it's very protective it does that so you can when you do that sometimes a little another live demonstration here so when you plug this in that locks it into place so even if something happens here you're not wiggling these thickets pie still yank them out but you're not gonna get that weird pull on the side of it there - and then also all the connectors here in the back - including you have a micro USB which plugs into your PlayStation 4 a pro or your PlayStation 4 it also has its own power source to it so you don't need a secondary power source when you're playing this yeah yeah there's a lot going on with these but the other thing to notice it to know about this is that really from what I read that the second model is really designed for if you have a 4k television and your goal passing to HDR right you know because the cool thing about the places VR is that you can have it hooked up like I have it hooked up all the time but you don't have to use it so it's only when you turn it on that the PlayStation recognizes it and then it does all this extra stuff here but right you can play it for months at a time with the hooked up and the nice thing is that you know depending on the processing it'll pass that normal PlayStation footage to your television yeah if you're using a model one through a 4k TV some people actually have to literally unhook it or they get like a little secondary switch that can go back and forth and all that again there's nothing wrong with the PlayStation the the VR model one if there really isn't except for you know if you're going through all these things you know I don't yeah it's just something to be aware of if you have a 4k dollars for sure absolutely so okay so that's that's kind of everything you know about that but there are many different ways to play games on the PlayStation VR there are absolutely we can start with the DualShock yes so this is how you play most games this is how I normally play right a lot of games because they know you have one J of course and also two because of oh I guess we should also mention the camera is that oh yes the you do need a camera as well because once you light it up you know like how your PlayStation 4 has this little lives nothing reminded me of the camera of the light yeah this thing lights up like that but with all these different things and that's what gives you what they call six degrees of freedom yes then you might see that with VR there's that three degrees of freedom which is like left and right and up and down and also that 3d depth but six degrees also means if I step back here in game you actually move back a little bit - yeah which is a very cool thing it is I mean it adds an extra level like you're really there because when your head's moving it's tracking it through the camera well you need that some daikon some games like you're looking at something or you can like looking a little bit closer deeper and actually you can get right in there just clip through it if you want to you know and the same thing with the controller again that's where I remind me of this because in many games you do see physically or right virtually you some controller in the game sir because your controller becomes the gun for instance so yeah like that so it turns into that shows you where it is and how it's placed in game compared to your headset and all that yeah very very cool you that is very cool and then there's a couple games that use these and it's so funny that we're now talking with the middle controller when we used to make fun of it on the PlayStation 3 it was hilarious because and the PlayStation VR move controllers are PlayStation 3 Move controllers yeah you can get the bundle unit that comes with these too and or you can buy them separately they go for like 180 a hundred bucks you can well it used to be you be able to find these oh yeah even game stops were blowing these things out which I think I got one really cheap and then when I got the VR I tried to find a second one and that's when I realized the prices were going up because other people were looking as well yeah that happens I got I bought both of mine at a local video game store for like 20 bucks each or something like that it's one of those instances where you want the VR be like I don't need the Move controllers but then once you start checking out the other games and something about eventually you're like you know what I might want to move controllers so yeah you don't need them upfront but you're going to want them eventually probably because some games are both you can use the Dual Shock or the Move controllers and then some games are move specific and you can't even play the game you won't even start yeah I rent it to that as well where I I didn't have these turned on I didn't realize that it needed them and I and I couldn't select stuff what's going on broken yeah but so when we get into the game so I'll talk about the ones that we think are probably better or at least require you know share our ism or yeah because I know there's a couple games I'm like oh my gosh there's so much better with these absolutely and then on the flipside to there's a few games that are that you can use the Move controllers I still prefer the Dual Shock okay for one reason or another whether it be because some painte games like you require pushing a button and then doing something to walk forward or rather just do the analog clock for now it's a good point okay and then you have this here which I thought was really cool this is the best of both worlds yeah this is the aim controller available separately and a lot of times you can also find this bundled with other games too in fact I pray five purchased this with a bundle of one of the games I'm gonna show off you're pretty soon it is it's an all-in-one it is so cool so it Sarge's as well and keeps a it does has a lithium-ion battery so hey does it sure does yeah and you can use that if you can actually use that like a Dual Shock controller if you'd like there's two analog sticks on it yeah oh yeah over here you get the buttons here's your at the very end here that's your triangle square buttons and all that Yellin our buttons on the side it's crazy your options and shares up there too so with a game like that and there's several other there's several shooters that you can use the analog to walk around but then you're also holding it like well I see a proper gun I don't have proper of a gun that is yeah but it gets the job done there your trigger is just your r2 and all that and you have your l2 over there for options and you want that cool they've immersive experience and something like that it really really it really comes in handy and it's just it's just fun yeah this is so cool all right well that's kind of a quick overview of the hardware but you know it's all about the games analyst let's just check out some of them do it okay you got a bunch of games here I do I mean do you have that you recommend people get oh there's so many I want to recommend but I nerd it down to 12 okay okay very cool all right we're gonna start with let's go with the traditional Resident Evil 7 oh my gosh this game stop your heart in VR I mean first off I want to say that you guys probably looking at footage right here and you'll be like oh what's the big deal no no no trust me when you are playing this game in VR you're gonna poop your pants it is awesome I don't remember dude I was it was freaking me out it was awesome it is cool especially when you're looking at it through the VR and now you also have your headphones in so you can't hear the surrounding sound behind you and all that it's Resident Evil 7 and you can play this without VR too but really really I think they really built it for the VR aspect I recommend getting the gold version the Gold Edition is the version has all the DLC as well oh man I didn't know they did that and the DLC on top of that is no not all DLC is in VR so keep that in mind too but there's a couple of VR missions that are on there one of them that happens after like after the the story mode I'm not gonna spoil the story but after the story mode then you play through that mode too and there's also a special VR mode that deals with the Sun in this game who likes to play games and a half and some fun I wish they would do that spin off as its own game it's fun is my oh I'm picking that up and the cool thing is some of these games too have been out long enough that you can probably find them pretty cheap you know at this point anyway oh we also going to talk about Astro bottle it started out as a demo it was it's just like almost like a tech demo on the first demo disc and then it turns into this entire like if you look at the PlayStation 1 demo disc which is a free download through the to the store they turn it into a full-fledged full game and it's seriously one of the best platformers beyond the PlayStation or VR or not it plays like a Mario game it reminds me a lot of Mario's sunshine because you can like jump and hover oh yeah collect coins and all that this is one of those games where if someone is either on the fence about VR they're kinda like yeah what's the big deal right put this in and they like platformers this is going to blow their mind I think this game is so much fun right it blew me away I love how how creative the levels are right the boss battles the things I find and explore it's just so good it's good to see that it's your plate I mean as a VR like when you're running the VR you play the camera yeah like so don't think that'll all be our games you're saying not all games are first-person perspective right you know immersive experiences which some of them are but you just play the camera and you're controlling this thing but then there's some items like some hidden things that you actually again that six degrees a freedom there's something way over here so you have like a look around you know and you see it over there or way down below you or it's such a clever and such a ball made game really I know it I'm so glad you picked that no it's cool and a lot of the newer BR set ups come with that game as the backend yeah it was even better it is because it's gonna you know it's gonna blow people away under the game that comes with the package is the game moss oh it's we've had a lot of fun with yes talk about another immersive experience where it's like it's the storyline it's a fairy tale story you play as like a mouse yeah yeah with a sword and he's all cute you can like high-five them and stuff yeah but again something about that game just makes you like live in that world and stuff like that I was blown away even just like with a small tech thing of like there was a branch in the way and I tried to move around it and then the branch got caught up in my thing and I also moved out of the way as I got so where do you look down in the water and you see a reflection and all that's right the other thing is a moss is another just beautiful game again you know in 2d it may not blow you away but in VR oh yeah you just I would stop and just look at stuff it's such a beautiful game absolutely we got to talk about this game it's one of my personal favorites at is firewall zero our hmm that game that that's the game I purchased as they bundle pack with my aim controller because it's a m-- compatible hmm it is in for on for online game see and you can you can squat up with your friends that's what I would do and then or you could just jump into any game and play along and you're either like trying to get to the computer or you're guarding your computer or the the firewall for instance the nice thing about this game is I mean find the other enemies you shoot them it's another it's a it's a shooter it's a first-person shooter okay but when you're in these levels and everything what I like about it is not that I like dying in the game but I'm not the best of these kind of gamer when you do die you become these security cameras so you can jump from security camera to security camera and you're still talking to your teammates but now you can see where the enemies are so when they're coming around the corners like hey they're coming around the corner they're coming up the stairs I could be a guy right there and everything like that so you're a constant communication when you're playing this game and it's one of those games like we've all experienced where users start I'm just gonna play a couple of games and I'm going to bed and then when you take your beat and again when you're in this world and you think IV are off you're like oh and now the Sun is up okay I have to go to work in half an hour real life later on too when it comes to driving games there's a few driving games on the PlayStation VR my personal favorite is wipeout now I purchased this before there's even a VR mode yeah with it because I love the wipeout series but now if you find it now it actually might say you know VR mode or something for the play season to me there was a free download a free add-on because it that's what I did as well it is yeah I liked it because a lot of people and when we that's nothing we could talk about to the whole motion sickness thing right I suffer from motion sickness in real life sitting in the back of a car reading a book I can't do it I can do a PlayStation VR just fine well I'm the opposite yeah so the nice thing about this game is you can actually decide where your VR is tracking now if you want to play as the pilot and you're going around these corners and you're doing this all the time not so much yeah but you can say just spoke is on the track so that way you're looking at the track and then your car is the one doing all that and you just Oh track and all that I don't realize you can do that okay so this made me puke well I wanted to puke in about 15 seconds right when I first I mean it's amazing to play sure cuz it was tracking my head and I mean it was amazing but I so I didn't rise it you did there's option that's good to know yeah so when you pick that up I basically go through those options and the easiest way to do it is just say like you know to focus on the track and then you can just just be on the track and you're still right behind your car and everything like that so well I would say I mean this isn't part of your recommendations as I was recently playing this week a drag Club VR oh there's another game oh yeah but that's a yeah you know obviously more realistic but that one doesn't really make me sick and it's really interesting because I think it's because maybe it's slower or it doesn't have shirts much the side to side movement but another game that's really fun they could be absolutely yeah driveclub they are certainly worth checking out and yeah there is I mean there's like Gran Turismo right but that's also like a mode couple of tracks you can see the models up close it's it's okay if you're like Gran Turismo but you know I want more I want more game involved with my VR experience yeah well you talk about experiences you gotta talk about Batman Arkham vr yeah this is this could have been the tech demo licenced by Batman I suppose yeah there's one of the first experience that came out for the PlayStation VR it's pretty neat though it's very it shows you a little bit about what all the VR things can do it's is kind of these quick little missions it's like first you're gonna do this that kind of walks you through what's going on and I mean you play as a detective mostly in this game and you you're kind of I mean you're playing mostly as Detective Batman was right all right exactly so not a whole you're not like throwing fists and stuff like that but you are doing like some crime crime scene investigation stuff the first experience when you walk in in you play the piano and you drop down to the Batcave and you know a Batcave opens oh I mean it's angry if it's every Batman - you know fans - Rieger - to go into the Batcave right yeah oh it's night and I keep it on the cowl and then actually shows a mirror so like whatever you're doing in the mirror it's reflecting that you as Batman as like aw it's cool yeah cool huh okay yeah and this is again I think this is not you know it's not the longest game but it is a cool experience it is and it's been out long enough I think I purchased mine at Gamestop for like five bucks yeah I don't remember well I think mine was too yeah this is super awesome one game there's a physical version of it I downloaded it digitally but its Creed mmm Creed rise to glory it's based on the boxing series based on the Rafi series but you play as Apollo Creed it uses the Move controller

so you will need the Move controllers for that but it is a boxing game where you're literally you have the Move controllers and you're literally throwing punches that seems perfect at the other guy and it is such a cool experience because when you're there and they're all right up in your face and you have to punch them before they punch you I love the mechanic of if you dodge one of their punches everything kind of goes slow motion so you can kind of calculate it and then like you know get them over it's fun it's fun to wear like and if you get knocked out it's almost like your soul leaves your body so like you fly way backward and you can see everything happening and you have to run back to your body before the count of 10 you got to run back where you were and then once you get back in there then the you know the fight leads on and it goes through there and it's a lot of cool too because of the six degrees of freedom even out and I shouldn't even be saying this but even after you knock them out there on the ground the audience is cheering you can go to the corner and raise your hands and everything's cool and you might have Rocky Balboa at the point down there but you can also just also like actually crouch down and to start pummeling pummeling them while they're knocked out if you want I'm you could I gotta you would ever do that yeah you shouldn't anyway it's the ball fight for that but let's talk about this game this is another one of those when it first came out this is the PlayStation VR worlds yes this is totally the tech demo if you have a PlayStation VR it's the perfect introduction to someone to play the art even like grandma or grandpa I was gonna say that I when my mom came over here yeah and you know hey mom I'm gonna check out VR she'd never done anything like that to her put this on here and she it blew her away and it was the perfect thing because this is this has mint it's called world because there are many many different experiences on here there are ranging from you're in the water and you're in their species and you can enable or disable the the shark if you wanna say that please tell me that you put on the Sharks a free well III asked her okay we did have the shark on for a little while all right but uh but anyways and you can kind of spin and then also the the London Highland enticed it London heist specifically it was why I grabbed that for sure yeah because it you're part of this kind of like well it's it's it's a heist movie essentially almost made by Richie lock talking to you spoken well you know I love it and it has this great scene where there's a shootout on it's like on a freeway and it's yeah that's it's crazy it's like coming out the window and you're shooting guys over here and it's so fun your soda on the counter you can drink that if you want or whatever there's another one to where it's the what is it where the luge but you're on the street alright yeah so you're laying back and you're like oh it's so fast it goes so fast but this is it this is a great I mean I highly recommend people get this like the the moment you pick up your your places in VR because you're gonna find something of interest in here absolutely cool yeah there's something forever well my kids love it just for like even my son who doesn't leave a video games he loves just the the water part like this where you're going to nothing and you see all the jellyfish you know everything yeah absolutely we have a puzzle game again it's available physically I downloaded digitally because I couldn't wait to play Tetris effects oh yeah holy moly this is from write Tetris from the makers of luminous luminous yeah this right that the kind of PSP rhythm yeah so it's Tetris and I probably bought in Tetris the other eighty times yeah now this that's what I think I'm like Tetris really yes yes we do every version of Tetris this one is 100% my absolute favorite version of Tetris I looked and as much as I love Tetris 99 already show you about the music that's involved with it it's not really music rhythm but the more you lay down every level is has a different theme to it yeah that unlocks the more you build up it has the new feature of you can kind of stop time and then try to get as many lines cleared as possible so you can get like a like an actress or a perfect wrist or something - that's right there's something about it that just makes it and the VR element really is just you looking at it with the ambience all around you you can zoom in if you like and see the I'm Tetris tower coming down at you I guess no it's so cool I'm so glad you mentioned I forgot actually I let a friend of mine borrow it I want it back it's one of those games like City let's do you like oh man alright let's talk about Farpoint as well to know them one of those games that you can use the aim controller if you'd like you don't have to use the in controller if it's in controller accessible it's an option you there's no game that's in controller mandatory you know what I mean remove aim okay cuz the gun looking wow I got you okay yeah so you can use that one on here or you can just use the DualShock as well it's one of those do you land on the alien planet yeah you try to find out what happened along the way by kind of uncovering these story clips that have happened but it's cool to be on this alien planet and walk out there it's kind of when you open the vault for the first time you're like holy moly it's one of those games where you leave like the cave or wherever you are and you see like the world around you and there's a giant smoking spaceship that grabs or something looks very very cool and then the aliens and the beasts that are in there I mean when the spiders are jumping at your face and usually these giant blob things that are chucking poisonous gas and bombs at you and all that this is one of those games where I was playing it and I yelled and you know he's like in surprise like you realize oh is there anybody else in the room because I can't see and yeah it was really fun this is a cool little you know first-person shooter for sure really is this is so good let's talk about it oh good so this is until dawn rush of blood right and this is an on-rails shooter this is a classic it really is you know kind of like I mean if you're literally on a rail yeah it's a rollercoaster it is and oh my god this game is so well made I mean it's just first of all this is a game where I absolutely love playing it with the Move controllers yes two of them because you can you're basically there's so much going on anyways that right it's so much fun to play that way and you're just trying to shoot every single thing that you can I love this game because the roller coaster is really cool the way it kind of like it speeds up it slows down you go into buildings you'll stop just stop for a little bit I mean and the scale of this now again it's gonna be really hard to pick up on this video in 2d but there are moments where you're just because it's kind of a fun house it's like anything goes it messes with your mind really it's like it's so cool sure and there's different themes to each level too like one of them might be more clowns and what it might be more zombies or specters or something so something cool to look forward to each time yeah there's lots to shoot at you know a wonderful experience yeah I mean I'd love this game so much and again it's one of those where you're like I can't imagine playing it not in VR right it's so awesome in VR yeah it wouldn't be the same it wouldn't be I mean it would be okay kind of like you know time crisis or whatever but no this is the way to play it absolutely I can't do a buyer's guide video without talking about V Sabre I came I haven't played yet it is the game that's bringing back the rhythm game it's the dance dance revelution of this generation there's something about it even just like with most of these games you look at the video footage again like alright yeah it's that and people have shared videos around it's like oh it's uh it's lightsaber lightsaber uh fruit ninja yeah but something about it again with the music when you're wearing it you have to slice the blocks in rhythm to the music it's just a wonderful super awesome experience it's hard to describe without until you actually play it for yourself and you're like that's why it's so popular that's why it's so addicting the PC version has all these mods and levels and people are out there doing their own stuff the PlayStation version doesn't have all those like homemade mods but the packet comes with comes with a ton of songs and they're still releasing new song packs all the time too so they're really stepping up what they can do for the PlayStation VR but beat sabers out there and it's I think it's a must-have yeah I need to check that out oh yeah and then you at the end here you reminded me oh sure that one of the really cool features of the PlayStation VR is that you can watch 3d movies that's Hollywood movies that's one thing that a lot of people don't know or realize your PlayStation 4 is a blu-ray player yeah and with the VR when you pop in the disc I'll say if you want to watch this in 3d you say yes please yeah it's not like it's 3d all around you movie um it's just you like the movie was shot in 3d yeah so you get that depth to it like I just like if you're watching you know a movie at the movie theater but you have to put on weird kind of chroma lens glasses the VR is those glasses so you're just watching their and they have the nice thing about the VR is you can make the screen as big as you want yeah I was gonna say that that to me when I first did this I was like say I was watching a Nicholas Cage Drive angry and I also put into one okay and I also put in like Harry Potter the last one that was in 3d sure and again you know the the movie screen quote-unquote right massive I mean it's just you know there's nobody in front of you right cuz it's in VR right it is a great experience I was blown away it's really cool it's gigantic now because of how the VR works it is kind of it's still kind of pixel based right so there might be that to contend with but when you're watching the movie I kind of forget about it yeah in a way yeah that's true and so you have a couple here that you you've I just grabbed it for you I have a box I have like thirty of them are some like that I whenever I find 3d blu-rays out like you know garage sales or pawn shops or some like that they're usually I mean there's a price same prices of every other DVD so I usually pick it up but I mean I grab things like you know like pixels in 3d okay just because it sound like looking at Sim City and 3d gets kind of comic-book style anyway yeah so you got that my kids of course love the spongebob movie I love this movie yeah but then you go talk about things like paranormal activity speaking of pooping my pants um yeah interesting well I think what you're highlighting here is kind of the surprise for me is and the reason why I jumped in on the places pr's because I think when it was first announced many of us thought this was a gimmick we thought it was going to be about two months you know and died off and the surprise was is that it hasn't died off it's actually sold okay yeah and but there are tons of games for it I mean there are hundreds of games for it oh yeah they're gonna keep on making more games I was the same with you I wanted to wait a year because it took less than a year for the Virtual Boy to just stop you know so I was like I like it it's expensive but they have since dropped the price down until make it a little bit more affordable there's much more games you can find both new games coming out all the digital games that are in the the the PlayStation Store the PlayStation Network store and then all the games that you can find like many of these I pitch I purchased you know relatively cheap at you know local game stores and all that yeah it's awesome well very cool man I was very happy to do so you and I've been planning on doing this cuz we're both really big fans right so we really it there's never a convenient time because there's always a new better game coming out next month yeah so it's hard to say but by the time we got you know Resident Evil and with Astro BOTS and all that you know and who knows what the future holds it's a I I think it's fun I think it's a fun experience and I love it yeah and speaking of you have a PSVR This Week

I'm Brian and that's Ted's and every week on psvr this week we take a look at the new VR games that are coming to the PlayStation Store this week we gather up all the trailers we can find all the descriptions we can play your eyes and condense them down to this short video for you sometimes we look at the late games updates DLC or new game announcements so without further ado here's psvr this week [Applause] developer beat games dropped three free new songs and the beat saber on Thursday from Japanese EDM artists camellia camellia according to beat games is extremely well known amongst the rhythm game community and beat saber players and everyone agrees these songs are by far the hardest beat saber tracks yet in stark contrast to the relatively easy imagine dragons pack that launched recently but that's not all in addition the patch also brought with it some new one Sabre maps for existing songs [Music] I'm a professional don't pay Batman for a joke off I'm gonna tee man over bottom ball getting closer and closer saw Thursday was also a big day for fans of PSV our exclusive blood and truth the DLC is finally here and features a ton of new content from my most anticipated edition new game+ which will allow you to keep all your guns modifications and collectibles from your first playthrough to a new harder difficulty leaderboards and new challenge stages what truth is already one of our favorites but this update gives us plenty of reasons to go back play again we need to push back hard or we're finished [Music] the PlayStation store is having a huge summer sale and they're including a ton of PlayStation VR games the sale runs until August 20th and although not every game is on sale in every region there's a ton of crossover on this list these 14 games might not be the best games for PlayStation VR but they're definitely ones I think you shouldn't miss at their current prices [Music] it's no secret that we didn't love Arizona sunshine at lunch and that $40 price tag doesn't really help anything but after a bunch of patches updates new four-player horde modes dlc incoming and tons of zombies to take down it's tough to argue with its sale price of $14 it's rare that we get triple a flat-screen games ported over to PlayStation VR Borderlands is proof as to why it should be done more often the developers have already patched in aim support and are promising all the DLC from Borderlands 2 proper to drop sometime this summer so consider grabbing it now while it's cheap [Music] Farpoint was the first game to show us just how amazing the aim controller could be in VR but a fun single-player campaign wasn't enough for developer impulse gear they also gave us free two-player co-op missions and the 1v1 mode unlike any I've ever seen before if you have an aim controller power point should be in your library [Music] when I live streams here they lie a few weeks back it was just for fun but as I was playing I couldn't stop admiring the amazingly detailed scenery and couldn't stop gawking at all the perverted denizens of this disturbing City it's a walking simulator at heart but it's well-designed scary and beautiful everything runs downhill here it's tough to argue with severing limbs and blasting away zombies in VR and killing floor incursion does it the style stunning graphics insane bosses and a two-player co-op campaign is just a beginning with this excellent story driven action game bollocks now things are getting serious this virus is mucking up everything [Music] koan is somewhat of a rarity on playstation vr while it's true that the graphics are some of the blur iasts ever seen in the headset it's also a fully fleshed out fully realized adventure in a small mysterious snowy town it takes a while for things to heat up but once they do it's hard to stop playing [Music] paranormal activity is one of my favorite horror franchises and the VR game doesn't disappoint the controls are somewhat of a hurdle to overcome and the game isn't terribly long but there's a lot to do and see in this house and if it doesn't scare you you're probably not human [Applause] it's seldom that games were really looking forward to actually meet nevermind exceed our expectations but that's exactly what the persistence did last year as a rogue light sci-fi action game the persistence lets you play the way you want upgrade your weapons shields and abilities every time you die which you will a lot [Music] whereas originally debuted on the Dreamcast in ps2 back in November of 2001 but even then it was obvious that this rail shooter' music rhythm game was destined for something more in the first time you see resident Ben in a VR headset you'll know that this is how res was always supposed to be played [Music] as possibly one of the best-looking crow enhanced psvr games robinson the journey lanes you stranded an alone on a planet overrun with dinosaurs but don't mistake this for an action or survival game robinson is a massive puzzle solving exploration collectathon filled with stunning visuals and a white but effective narrative Robinson almost never goes on sale so grab it while you can [Music] the people come to the static institute of retention of volunteers every time there's a huge PSN sale static always seems to be there ridiculously discounted and we're always there right alongside telling you to pick it up so if you haven't yet I'm not sure what else to say static is such a unique puzzle game probably my favorite on the platform where your hands are trapped inside a box and every box has different controls to unlock it just buy it a release party I think you'll enjoy it [Music] outside a beat saver thumper might be the best rhythm game on PlayStation VR the concept is crazy as are the sights and sounds your chrome beetle flying down a track through hell at top speed while growing to maneuver the twists turns and obstacles with the appropriate button presence will have you scared to blink they ask you a question why does your God swim in such filth when people ask me what my favorite psvr game is I always tell them Resident Evil 7 but the Exorcist holds a special place in my heart because it's one of the few games that was so scary I often had trouble pushing forward with demonic themes and evil lurking around every corner this one shook my Catholic school operating to its core there's nothing better than horror movies roller coasters and light gun shooters except for maybe when miraculously developer supermassive games was able to combine all those things into one amazing psvr exclusive until dawn Russia blood was panned by mainstream media at lunch for being a cheap cash in on the untilled on franchise but as usual the critics were dead wrong big screen VR is already popular another VR headsets but the developers confirmed this week that the app is finally coming the PlayStation VR in either late 2019 or early 2020 big screen allows you to hang out with your real friends in virtual reality and watch movies together in a virtual theater it also features cross-platform play public and private rooms and variety of environments [Music] million sky big VR update could drop any day now the official word is summer 2019 but that window only gives us a few more weeks to work with so we want to be prepared starting tomorrow Monday the 29th I'll be streaming the non VR version of no man's sky daily to prepare for the inevitable VR patch so come along for the ride as I take on my first non VR game in quite a while help me figure out what I'm supposed to be doing and eventually I'll be sending out multiplayer invites to some of oil game cats to drop into the stream and be part of my adventure [Music] thank you guys so much for tuning in to another
