Kol just looked at Kai, not understanding how the other couldn’t see that now wasn’t the time to have this conversation. “And yet with each passing minute, I’m beginning to like you less than less. Now is not the time for this, Kai. Go home, kill someone, do something other than initiate this pointless conversation”

“Is this you trying to deflect the subject of said conversation, or...” Kai knew it was indeed not the time to have this conversation, but only he would discuss something of this caliber during the werewolves/Gemini Coven debacle. “Come on, Kol, maybe I’ll leave you alone and let you go find what’s probably left of your family when you tell me the truth.”

“You just told me my brother is dead and you want to take this time to try and psychoanalyze me?” Kol stopped walking to turn towards Kai. “Get on with it, Kai.”

“Yeah, there’s no better time to do it than right now in the middle of a crisis.” Kai swept his arms around the room to indicate the pandemonium about to ensue. “As weird as it is coming from someone who can’t understand feelings, you like me. And it’s not just the ‘enjoy your company and ripping apart limbs’ duo thing we do, but the icky revolting kind you see in those stupid movies.”

“Bloody hell, Kai. Are you always like this? Just get on with it.” Kol was smart enough to know that Kai wanted something, only, he didn’t have the patience to dance around the bush.

“No, I don’t think you will. Not when it comes down to it.” Kai increased his pace to catch up with Kol, opting to walk alongside him whether his presence was welcomed or not. Isn’t that how it always was with the siphoner? “It’s the reason you haven’t bothered ripping out my throat no matter how many times you threaten to do it. I mean, the vicious Kol Mikaelson, destroyer of towns and infamous mess-maker, can’t even slaughter a sociopath. You never follow through.”

“ Yeah, because everything about you screams innocence. ” The girl replied, rolling her eyes. Still, she couldn’t shake off the weird energy surrounding them. And for once, she didn’t think it was coming off of Kai. “ Really? You find this enjoyable? Doesn’t something feel…odd to you? ”

“Innocence is in the eye of the beholder, or...whatever.” Kai lazily dropped the snack bag and rose to his feet, wiping his hands on his jeans. There was an anxious air to this place he could honestly appreciate. “Yeah, it feels a lot like the Gemini coven to me. They’re really into the petty revenge getting even act, trust me.”

“Get on with what?” Kai pressed his lips together and swayed from side to side innocently, mustering the best puppy dog eyes he could give to Kol, “You know, I might be a sociopath, but I’m not blind.”

Kol kept his eyes on Kai before he finally let him go, dropping his hands at his sides. “And let me guess: your coven had something to do with it? Congratulations, love. If you wanted them all dead, they will be ripped a part for what they did at the hands of Nik.”

Straightening the collar of his jacket and leaning against the wall a moment, Kai kicked off of it and stepped closer, noting the close proximity. “What other coven do you know is capable of that? Looks like we weren’t so different after all.” He shrugged, “I always have a plan B if you care to be a part of it.”

That got Kol’s attention and Kai would probably live to regret it. He turned, moving forward as his hand wrapped around Kai’s neck, shoving him back into the nearest wall. "Choose what comes out of your next very carefully, Kai.” If it wasn’t obvious before that he wasn’t playing games, it should have been crystal clear now. “Who and what happened?”

“Okay, okay, okay,” The man groaned as soon as his back smacked into the wall, hands lifting to grip Kol’s wrist and squeezing tightly, “Not that I don’t like playing rough with you,  but I can’t breathe if you don’t let me go.” He complained before sighing, “Judging by the incredibly frazzled look on Kieran Ambrose’s expression, something tells me he wolfed a little and killed Finn. You know, the unimportant Mikaelson you all hate?”

Bonnie felt weaker than normal and she knew that had to do with Kai. “I’m not giving you magic whenever you want it, Kai.” That was what Bonnie thought Kai was getting at but it wasn’t going to happen despite what he did to help her.

“One way or another, I won’t have to worry about that soon.” Tilting his head to the side curiously with raised eyebrows, he gave her a look. “How about a favor then? I’ll come to you one day and no matter what it is, you have to do it for me.”

Kol wasn’t a newcommer when it came to playing games but at least he knew when it was time for the game to stop. Kai, on the other hand, not so much. “No, I’m wondering when my patient will run thin and I’ll finally rip you limb from limb.” He moved past Kai, scanning the room for his siblings. 

“You could never do that, I’m way too much fun to have around.” Kai watched as the Original slipped past him, a flicker of a smirk touching his lips briefly. “Well, it looks like you’re down one sibling.” He called after him, assuming spouting off something like that would garner Kol’s attention. “I wouldn’t go outside if I were you. They’ll be cleaning off his blood from the pavement for weeks.”

Bonnie opened her mouth to respond but there Kai was, gripping her hands. She clenched her jaw but said nothing else as she allowed her eyes to close, trying to focus more on repeating what Kai was saying versus anything else.

Kai knew the spell by heart easily, previously seeing it in one of the spell books he read before his prison world days. It was a pretty impressive feat, one he almost wished he had a hand in. Feeling the strands of hair on the back of his neck lift slightly as the wind around the two swirled, lights everywhere flickering at the spell’s intensity before everything went completely still, Kai slowly opened his eyes. “I still expect something in return.”

“If you aren’t going to help, darling, then shut up.” Kol wasn’t interested in comments from the peanut gallery especially where Kai was concerned. If he didn’t care then that was fine but the bite from a wolf let alone from an Original Werewolf could put one of them out of commission for good.

“Kol is actually afraid of something, what is the world coming to?” Kai downed the rest of the liquid left in his glass and lazily threw it aside with a small shatter as he stepped closer, “You’re probably wondering what exactly is causing the wolves to go all cuckoo for cocoa puffs and, oh,” The man raised a hand and pointed his index finger at himself. “I know.”

Kol stood on the sidelines, watching as others began to leave the party or better yet, be forced out of the party by the eldest of the wolf pack. “Maybe the next time the wolves try to throw a party, someone with a brain will listen when others say it might not be a good idea.” Kol found himself pushing away from the wall. He didn’t want to play the good guy but there wasn’t a point in watching carnage if there was a good possibility he would be one to fall as well. “Oh bloody hell,” he murmured, “party’s over. Time to go.”

“Nah, I’m pretty comfortable right where I am.” It was a strange sight to witness, seeing Kai sipping at his drink while the panic began filtering through the atmosphere in the room. “Everyone’s so terrified, it’s hilarious.” Much to his surprise, it didn’t seem Kol held the same views which is a shame. “Think you should run while you still can, Mikaelson.”

“I’m not underestimating you, I’m stating the facts. You’re a witch with no magic which means the magic has to come from somewhere.” Bonnie wasn’t an idiot but she raised her hands up anyway. “I don’t know. You might.”

“I don’t need to remind you I haven’t used that itty bit of magic you gave me. Oh, wait, the magic I stole.” Without warning, Kai reached out to grip Bonnie’s hands in his own and closed his eyes, beginning to recite the incantation to the spell in hopes the other witch would follow his lead.

Only Davina would be so unlucky to run into HIM, of all people, even in a huge party like this one. Let’s just say the witch wasn’t his biggest fan, especially after their last encounter. “Why are you here? A little warm up before going on another killing spree?”

“Is that an accusing tone I hear when I’m just sitting here innocently without hurting a single fly?” Kai knew it was only a matter of time before he did kill someone and he never needed a reason for it. “I’m enjoying the party like everyone else. What kind of person doesn’t get that?”

“A witch that doesn’t have any magic of his own which means I have to work twice as hard.” Bonnie knew that she could go to Theon but she wasn’t sure if there was the time for it. “Guess we’ll have to run with what we have.”

“Don’t underestimate me, witchy poo, you haven’t seen what happens when you do.” Kai closed their distance as he gave her a mock sweet smile and reached out his hands palms up. “Come on, I don’t have germs.”

Bonnie was two seconds from putting Kai on his ass when he grabbed her but she hesitated. “You know your coven. You know what spell they would use. Tell me how to undo it.”

““Of course I know what spell they used.” Kai scoffed depsite the seriousness of the situation. Wolves were about two seconds away from tearing out throats, which he honestly couldn’t care less about, but no on stole his spotlight. “You need more than just one witch’s magic. Everyone else had an entire coven to depend on, we don’t, but two works.”

Bonnie almost scoffed. “No.” There was no way she would agree to that. “You’re not the only person in here who can help me,” she said while moving past him, “just the first one I’ve run into.”

Kai quickly jumped to his feet and stepped forward, reaching out to grab Bonnie’s wrist in order to stop her from leaving. “Hey,” He loosened his grip, “Fine, I’ll do it, but just because I’m the only one in this coven who can cause murderous chaos.”
