Beautiful voice
I was born blind. That meant endless surgeries as a child, and pity coming from people on all sides. What people don’t realize is that being blind allows you to see the world in a whole different way. I see though my fingers, my ears, and my nose, rather than my eyes. This also means I cannot judge someone by how they look. So instead, i use the sound of a persons voice, and their personality to discover wether they are ugly to me or not. Now, I want to tell you a story of someone very special to me. Back when I was in the 9th grade, I met a girl who was bullied by countless people, and felt excluded by everyone, even her friends. I couldn’t understand why people found her ugly. Her voice was rather pretty, and once you got past her defensive side, she was a great person to talk to, and a great listener. In the 10th grade, we started dating. It was on our third date that she offered to let me see her face though my fingers. I agreed. I felt long hair, a small nose, fair skin, and, to my surprise, dimples. She was smiling. She told me she wanted me to see her with a smile on her face first. At this, I was forced to smile too. At graduation, I proposed to her. It was an awkward proposal, as I was facing the wrong way as I spoke, but all she did was say yes. I felt her face again. She wore her beautiful smile, but with tears this time. She hugged me, and kept repeating “yes”. Those were wonderful times…
Three years ago, she passed away at the age of 54 due to cancer. Much to young. Everything she had was left to me, along with a small note she had written to me. In the note she told me about how grateful she was to have met me. She said that she had been planning to commit suicide that day, and the only thing that stopped her were my kind words, complementing her voice. She said that she was in a better place now, and that she would guide me with every step, and let me see the world again. Later the doctors informed me that they wanted to perform one last surgery, which I accepted. After I woke up, the bandages were removed from my eyes, and the doctor told me to open them. Slowly I did, and for the first time in my life, I saw what the world looked like. Then I realized what my wife had meant. She left me her eyes. I looked in the mirror, and saw them, clear crystal blue, unlike my old ones, which people had told me were a faded gray. The doctors told me I stared for 15 minutes before bursting into tears. Now, I sit on the balcony of the house we once shared, watching the sunset fad from yellow, to orange, to purple, to blue. I watch the sunset every day now, as it reminds me of her. Her shy smile, her small nose, and her beautiful voice.

Commander (prologue)
In the year 2545, humanity discovered it wasn’t alone in the galaxy. The Thamin were the first to visit earth, bringing with them advanced technology and art forms that had never been seen before. The Thamin were a humanoid all male race, with red skin, black eyes and tentacle-like growths instead of hair. They specialized in peacemaking, and were one of the races that held a place on the council. About 100 years later, the Malahki came to the solar system. The bug-like gender fluid humanoids gifted the humans with weapons and armour, along with the ability to build spacecrafts. They were warriors by nature, with six eyes and four arms each, and coming in grays, blacks, whites and browns. 60 years later, humans discovered the Fellans, and the massive ship they protected, called sanctuary. Sanctuary served as a home to many races from across the galaxy, and was also home to the council, which made it the most important ship in the history of all races. The Fellans looked very similar to the elves from human stories, with pale coloured skin, pointed ears and graceful appearance. These three races served at the head of the alien council, and in time, allowed the humans to join as well. It is now earth year 2755, 50 years after the human race was allowed to join the council. What people didn’t realize about sanctuary, was that it wasn’t as perfect as it seemed. By: Psyliee

Dead
"(y/n)." You hear him say.
There he was. Standing just a few feet away, short hair blowing in the wind, and tears of happiness in his eyes. You do nothing but stare, feet rooted to the spot, unable to move.
He starts walking towards you, a large smile plastered to his face. You were so happy, but something didn't feel right.
Right before he reached you, he stopped, and his eyes darkened. The smile disappeared from his face, and within seconds, the clear light leaves his eyes. He crumples to the ground, a long sword was sticking out of his back, and blood was pooling around him. You scream as the healers run to the two of you. Your legs were weak, yet you still could not move an inch. One of the healers walks up to you, a worried expression on her face.
"I'm sorry."
