Note
Hey hey! I was wondering what exactly chaos magick is? like what is it centered around, how do you practice it, etc. thank you!
Chaos magic follows the idea that you create your own reality using the tools you have at your disposal. It's also pretty heavily centered around meditation and other things like that. Peter Caroll wrote a few books about it that get into the nitty gritty details so I definitely recommend reading those if you're interested because they explain it better than I ever could.
I've kinda fallen out of practicing strictly chaos magic but the theory influences how I practice in other things. Currently I use the theory to practice how I see fit to achieve results i want whether that be through using specific herbs or crystals.

Appalachian Folklore, Wives Tales, and Superstitions
Brought to you mostly by my grandparents, but also by my family at large. These are all things I heard growing up in the northern region of Appalachia and wanted to share with y'all. The lore and sayings may vary based on location, family tradition, and other factors, but this is just what I’m sharing from my experiences!
• Give the first pinch of a freshly baked loaf of bread to the Good Men to keep them happy. • Deaths and births always come in threes. • Spin around in a circle three times before you walk in the front door to confuse any spirits that are following you. • Don’t throw your hair out! If a bird builds a nest with it, you’ll have migraines. • “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky at morning, sailor’s warning.” • If the leaves on trees are flipped over with their backsides showing, rain’s coming. • If you hear a dog howl at night, death is coming. • If you’re giving someone a wallet or purse as a present, put money in it to ensure they’ll never financially struggle. • Spirits can’t cross running water. • Cats and dogs won’t enter a room where spirits are present. • Carry an acorn in your pocket for good luck, a penny for prosperity, and a nail for protection. • If you’re having nightmares, put a Bible under your pillow. They’ll go away. • Take a spoonful of honey to keep your words sweet. • Keeping a pot of coffee on ensures a happy home. • It’s bad luck to walk over a grave. • A horseshoe hung above a door ensures good luck. • A horseshoe in the bedroom staves away nightmares. • If your right hand itches, you’ll soon be receiving money. If the left itches, you’ll be paying it. • Wishing on a star works. “Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.” • When you have a random shiver, someone just walked over your grave. • If smoke from a fire rises, expect clear skies. If it rolls along the ground, expect storms. • Rosemary near the door provides protection. Lavender provides peace. • “A ring around the sun or moon, rain or snow is coming soon.” • Wind chimes and bells keep spirits away. • Seeing a cardinal means unexpected company. • For that matter, so does dropping silverware. • Rubbing a bit of potato on a wart helps it to go away. • If the soles of your feet itch, you will soon walk on strange grounds. • Black eyed peas, greens, and/or pork and sauerkraut should be eaten on New Year’s Day to welcome good luck and good fortune. • Driving a nail into a bedframe or crib will drive away curses. • If your ears are burning, someone’s talking about you. • If you dream of fish, you are or will soon be pregnant. • Listen to the wisdom of children, they see and know more than we think. • To dream of death means birth, to dream of birth means death. • To cure a headache, crush some mint leaves in your hands, cup them over your mouth and nose, and breathe in a few times. It should help. • Placing a fern or ivy on the front porch protects against curses. • In a vegetable garden, never plant the same plants in the same spot two years in a row. Rotate where they are, and you’ll save your soil. (Note: this is a real thing called crop rotation, and is actually kind of important) • A black bird (Raven or crow, doesn’t matter) on the roof or a windowsill is an omen for death. To avoid it, you have to scare it away without using your voice before it caws. • Say a prayer when you pass a coal mine for the lost souls still in the mine. • Thank the land and the Lord with every successful hunt or harvest you have, for nothing is guaranteed.
These are a few of the folklores, wives’ tales, superstitions, and sayings that I’ve heard growing up (and still living in) in Appalachia! I encourage other Appalachian witches, cunning folk, and general inhabitants of the Appalachian region (and just the mountain range at large) to share whatever bits you’ve heard over the years! I just wanted to share a bit with y'all to give you an insight into some Appalachian lore, my own practice, and maybe give you some things to research and incorporate into your own practice! 🌿✨

Lemon Syrup
Lemons- happiness, vitality, friendship, rejuvenation, clarity, cleansing, healing, protection, solar energy.
Sugar- sweetness in life, happiness, attraction.
You'll need enough lemons to make 1/2 cup of squeezed lemon juice. For me, that was 3 lemons.
Before juicing them, separate the zest (the bright yellow part of the peel, not the white pith underneath, which will make your syrup bitter).
Then juice the lemons, and add to a pot with 3/4 to 1 cup of white sugar.
Let it boil, and once it does, reduce the boil to a simmer for 10 minutes. If you think the syrup is not thick enough, add more sugar.
Add the zest and turn off the heat entirely. Once it has cooled, strain it to remove all the zest and any pulp. Don't leave the zest in the syrup, even if it looks aesthetically appealing, because it'll turn bitter.
Keep it covered and chilled and it can keep up to a year. You can add it to teas, cocktails, use it for lemonade, drizzle it on pastries, etc.

Yes! Yes! YES!
These are some of my biggest issues with "vegan" leather. In my opinion true vegan leather is leather that causes virtually no harm to the environment, and it pains me to know that plastic is being marketed as vegan leather

Dark Sea Witchcraft

Many sea witches forget that the ocean is a dark, dangerous place, filled with deadly traps and monsters. This post is a collection of ideas on blending dark witchcraft with sea magick. (Note: I, along with many others, do not believe in the threefold law, so please keep your personal ethics to yourself)
Seashells are great for curses, as they can be broken into shards and put in a curse bottle. Research certain shell correspondences if you want a very specific curse.
Black sand can be mixed with black salt (or used by itself) for protective or cursing magick.
Saltwater gathered on the night of a dark moon makes the water even more potent for dark witchcraft.
Fish or turtle bones can be used in curse bottles or for divination. (Please only use bones that you find without actually hurting an animal. If you do sacrifice an animal, don’t be wasteful and please be humane. And definitely don’t sacrifice anything endangered!)
Shark teeth can be used for curses to cause fear in someone, or even bring real harm to them if used that way.
If you think on a broader scale, you can harness the power of the entire sea. Hurricanes and things like that are incredibly powerful, and are aspects of the sea. They kill many, many people, so I don’t recommend a hurricane curse, as they aren’t specific to who they harm.
Feel free to repost and add on to this!

Energy Work Terminology
Metawork Terminology Series: [ Astral Work ] [ Spirit Work ]
I frequently use a lot of energy work terms that have specific meanings to me based on my experiences and understanding of energy. I’ve seen these terms used by other energy workers too, but the way in which they are used seems to differ somewhat to each person’s background, experience, and beliefs.
For other energy workers curious to compare definitions and for clients of mine who want a better understanding of what I mean by these terms, I wanted to share my personal definitions! These definitions are not put forward as the only possible meanings, they are simply based on my own experiences.
Energy Basics, Types & Bodies
Energy - The underlying forces of the universe (different from physics energy) that can be sensed, manipulated, and used as the basis of magical workings. Every entity in the universe has energy residing in and around it.
Energy type - A distinct type of energy that has its own properties such as water energy, air energy, fae energy, nature energy, void energy, etc.
Energy alignment - When an entity (such as an object, spirit, or person) has a significant connection with or association with a specific energy type.
Energy body - The interior and exterior aspects of someone’s entire energy field running through and intertwined with their astral body. The energy body contains energy centers and channels that intake, process, and expel energy in addition to other specialized functions.
Energy signature - The “DNA” of an energy body that shows the specific composition of energy types and alignments that entity has. It can sometimes also reveal or hint at features of an entity’s energy and astral bodies.
Energy system - The specific way in which all the parts of your energy body operate both internally with each other and externally with energies and entities in the surrounding environment.
Energy centers - A nexus of energy where a significant amount of energy is present and being processed in some kind of way. Energy centers typically have specific functions within an energy system.
Energy channel - A stream where energy flows from one location to another. In an energy system, energy centers are connected by channels.
Energy modes - Classifications for entities who have certain types of energy systems. Some examples include energy vampires, energy suns, empaths, and dischargers. See more information here [x].
Energy Work & Reading
Metawork - The practice and discipline of the three highly interrelated fields of energy work, spirit work, and astral work.
Energy work - The practice and discipline of reading, manipulating, channeling, or directing the flow of energy. A sub-field of metawork. This is not necessarily a type of witchcraft, but can be referred to as witchcraft when energy work is incorporated into someone’s witchcraft practice. Many other types of magical traditions that are not forms of witchcraft also include energy work.
Energy reading - The practice and discipline of sensing energy. A sub-field of energy work. Some examples include aura reading, energy system reading, astral body reading, or energy signature reading.
Energy programming - Using a specific method or technique to direct or manipulate energy in a certain set of ways. Energy programming is an integral aspect of energy work.
Intent - When I say “intent,” I’m referring to the overall purpose and design of the way in which I’ve programmed energy for a magical working.
Energy tether - A connection between two different spirits, objects, people, or other distinct entities. Energy tethers can be used as energy channels to move energy from one entity to another, but they could be used for other purposes.
Charging - Directing energy from any external source to another entity, usually an inanimate object. The object may retain the energy it was charged with for a certain period of time, possibly making it more effective for magical workings.
Energy battery - An object that has been highly charged and can retain this charge for later use. The purpose of a battery is typically only to store the energy it was charged with.
Grounding - Purposefully releasing energy from yourself to an external location. Energy suns must regularly ground to sustain a healthy energy system, but anyone is capable of grounding.
Energy feeding - The opposite of grounding, or purposefully intaking energy from any external source. Energy vampires must use energy feeding to sustain a healthy energy system, but anyone is capable of energy feeding.
Cleansing - The removal of unwanted energies, which usually resets an entity back to its original state. Sometimes also includes replacing the unwanted energies with desired energies.
Energy Shield - Energy shaped and programmed for protection then attached to an entity (such as an object, spirit, or person). Weaker than a ward and more temporary, shields are usually a quick and ephemeral form of defense.
Energy Ward - Like a shield, except generally much larger and attached to a location. This could be a physical or astral place. Personal wards are attached to an entity (such as an object, spirit, or person), but generally are much stronger and last much longer than a shield.
Ward System - A multilayer, complex set of wards. Typically each layer is programmed for a different type of function and when combined these layers synergetically work together for well-designed protection.
If any of these definitions resonate with you, feel free to use them but if quoting me or reposting somewhere, please attribute credit back to me. Thanks!
