I have yet to finish the DLC but I just love his lore so much so far. I remember feeling more and more bad the more I found out about him after his boss fight. And the music that plays during his first phase goes so fucking hard. I wish he got the happy ending he deserved. I care about you Romeo <3

My headcanons for what The Black Rabbit Brotherhood looks under their masks :3 It's still work in progress - I think I wanna give different features to them, especially The Eccentric and The Youngest. Also the names were taken from @engardeitsme - a really talented writer who had contributed a lot to headcanons about the Rabbits!

First half of Season 2 is so under appreciated for having the funniest fucking group of characters

Before Overture's release, I had this idea of how Geppetto and Romeo's dynamic could've been after the disease kills Carlo, but just before the puppet frenzy: Specifically, I thought it'd be interesting if Romeo worked as Geppetto's personal bodyguard/assistant.

While Carlo was still alive, I imagine that while Geppetto knew who Romeo was (there's no way he just didn't keep tabs on his son - not out of love, to protect his name's reputation), he hardly ever crossed his thoughts.

When the plague hit the charity house, Romeo got infected but he didn't get as sick as Carlo. Romeo outlived his best friend and afterward spent his time half-assing stalker assignments and waiting for the petrification to take him too.

Then, whether it was because Romeo was someone who knew Carlo, and wanted the same goal Geppetto sought, or because Geppetto saw an opportunity and took full advantage - he approaches Rome with a proposal.

A job as a guard yes, but also a fellow researcher.

In return for money, security, and custom prosthetics to slow the spread of his illness, Romeo would go out and investigate Ergo, specifically how it binds to memories and the remains of the person.

Both men believe Carlo deserved to live longer. Romeo believed in Geppetto's mission, and perhaps at some point he felt he was more than just an asset.

Now with the DLC out, it is very much NOT what I expected, but I am happy with what they added.

I'm a little bit disappointed that Rome wasn't an active participant in the DLC, considering it was obvious the Monad house was significant, but that is literally only on me and me alone for having different expectations. Besides that, OH MY GOODNESS. OH ME OH MY. I KNEEEW arlecchino would be scary but jezums.. i love it i love it i love lies of p

TLDR: Sorry Romeo, Geppetto only has room for one son in his lif- wait oh look theres one more- oh wait look there's two now, aw beans.

Based on multiple things, my interpretation is that 1) the white butterflies belong to Carlo; and 2) the entire DLC is about P getting to honor what Carlo truly wanted, after everything he's been manipulated into doing over the first 8 chapters of the basegame. It's like finally giving someone a proper burial, after they had been brutally desecrated.

But what the white butterflies actually are isn't important to me. What matters to me is what they meant to P, what he thought about them, what he got out of the events of the DLC.
