Ava’s Demon Comic Dub Auditions!

Hey there! Are you an aspiring voice actor currently in love with the webcomic “Ava’s Demon”? If so then these auditions would be perfect for you! As a fan of Michelle’s work on Ava’s Demon myself I’ve decided to host auditions for an Ava’s Demon Comic Dub which will be posted on here and YouTube! 

For those that want to audition all you need to do is: 1. Reblog this post showing your interest in auditioning 2. DM me the name of the character you’re auditioning for as well as the panels you are reading from  3. Send me an audio file of your audition via DM, email or sharing by Google Drive! 

Auditions will remain open until all characters have been filled in for roles! These characters include: - Ava Ire - Wrathia Bellarmina - Odin Arrow - Pedri Nanezgani - Maggie Lacivi - Tuls Tenebrose - Gil Maverde - Nevy Nervine - Strategos Six - Raven Arrow - Crow Arrow - Merita - TiTAN - And other miscellaneous characters!

You may feel free to choose from any set of panels in the webcomic that feature the character you’re auditioning for! (As long as they have a speaking role of course).

Hey, I saw your post about the CR comic, and first and foremost, I feel bad that you feel like people are going to attack you for respectfully critiquing it. It's shitty that the internet (and tumblr in particular) has created this culture where even fair criticism is attacked, and I do think your criticisms are totally fair. There are inconsistencies that if I wasn't so pumped for it would've driven me insane. That said, for $4, personally I am willing to overlook them bc it is an indy comic.

I was pumped for it. I still am. I’m stuck in CR hell and I’m gonna get the rest of the books digitally.

But last night I actually. Clipped. Every visual error in the comic. 98 in total. Uploaded them all to imgur.

There are three panels where the blood from Vax’s wound is just mysteriously gone. Seven panels that I clipped ( I noticed two more on a re-read ) where Keyleth’s freckles are non-existent. There are 4+ panels where Vex’s hands + gloves are incorrectly shaded.

When it’s not missing features, it’s sloppy lines / shading that edges out of the frame my minute amounts. As someone with a mild case of OCD those small, tiny marks became all I could see.

And saying its an indie comic is totally fair, and yet not. Dark Horse has backed up indie comics that have become major players in the market -- Hellboy is the principle of these -- and the other comics they support are polished and perfected. This feels like the final editor looked at the first page and went ‘alright’ before stamping it with approval.

If this were a purely fanmade comic, I’d happily look the other way and take the art for what it is -- and I do enjoy the line work, the story, the characters, and most of the dialogue -- but the fact I found almost a hundred blemishes in about 22 pages of comic book ??? It smells like they pushed it out as fast as possible. 

This is a product ( and it IS a product ) that people paid actual money for. Doesn’t matter if it’s $4. That’s $4 less I have to spend on myself or my family. Physical comic books are $4. Sometimes more. If this goes to print exactly as-is, I’m not touching the physical copy with a ten foot pole.

aight since no one else is gonna say it

i love cr. i love. critical role. i love matt and laura and liam and travis and sam and marisha and taliesin and ashley. i adote the whole culture around it and the critter community

but can we please. take a hard look at the comic, here.

there are some serious editing mistakes and like. stray strokes outside of the frame. and idk why no one else is talking about it openly. 

i feel like i’m not allowed to say anything, like

i love cr and i liked the comic a lot, but there are points i can’t overlook, like kiki’s vanishing freckles, vex’s shapeshifting gloves, and vax’s disappearing blood. i love the series and i will continue to get the issues of the comic but

it feels like people are too busy stanning to notice we basically got the beta of the comic itself. it needed more editing time, color corrections, just to be gone over one more time to make sure there weren’t splotches of color outside of the panel borders, or entire trees, or trees tattooing a lady, or trees taking over vex’s shoulder.

and don’t. even get me started about the writing for vex on the first few pages. oooooh boy.
