Moonpaw Revealed!

" "Moon” is an unusual name for Warriors cats, but in Moonpaw’s case, it reflects how special her parents, Bayshine and Thriftear, think she is. Moonpaw is a chimera cat: a cat who, due to a rare genetic quirk, has different colored fur on each side of her face, divided by a nearly straight line. As Moonpaw recalls in Book 1 of Changing Skies, her father, Bayshine, thought that his lovely daughter’s face resembled a half moon. And when she was a kit, Moonpaw’s unusual appearance brought unusual expectations: many in ThunderClan imagined that she might be destined to become a medicine cat or that her unique face might be a sign from StarClan.

Readers will find that Moonpaw’s wants are not all that different from other apprentices: she wants to figure out who she is and to serve her Clan. But in Moonpaw’s case, what other cats think about her may have more of an impact on her future than her own goals. i want moonpaw to have a deep connection with the moonpool, not in the typical medicine cat way but in the sense that she is bonded with it like it's a living thing. she discovers it can speak but no one ever hears it because starclan's chatter always drowns it out and it has so much to say and so much that needs to be said and she's the only one who will listen so it asks her if she can be its voice for it. it wants to see the world but it doesn't have a body so maybe she can be its body, too, it suggests. she knows the water has been poisoned when she wakes up one morning screaming because it feels like her blood is on fire

if there was a warrior cats custody battle and you could only claim one singular cat from the series, who would you be fighting tooth and nail for?

reincarnated cats are treated as separate entities, so someone could claim cinderheart and another person could claim cinderpelt

faded/permadead cats count for this, so you could claim spottedleaf if you're brave enough

cats and creatures outside of the clans count too, so go claim midnight and rock before it's too late

no co-owning cats/visitation rights/whatever other rule-bending you're thinking of. you either get them or die trying like a real fan

i don't know if it's ever been shown in the books but i know that the wiki's had it on riverclan's page for years, i assume it was probably in one of the field guides or offhandedly mentioned in an earlier book.

So I'm just skimming random articles on the Warrior Cats website, and I come to their visual guide on the Clans article, and their RiverClan section had one note that threw me...

the very last point on the Traits section:

The only time I can remember this being a thing in the books was with Willowbreeze in Crookedstar's Promise, but I find it hysterical to think that its just an endemic issue in RiverClan than cats keep disappearing cause every time a twoleg stumbles across a RiverClan cat, they're just like "Ooh, pretty kitty" and plucks them out of the water and carries them off to kittypet life.

I want to make it clear that I do not support AI, but I do not believe that Warriors is using it to make covers now. These claims discredit the very real artist, Owen Richardson, who must be overworked and underpaid.

A lot of the claims of blur, harsh lighting, and lack of anatomical accuracy can be boiled down to his style and not being a cat artist. His portfolio shows he draws a lot of humans and scenery with similar lighting.

Do I like a lot of the covers? Eh, no... but I think the claims are unfair.
