How tall is Weiss Schnee?

On her wiki page, the only height it states is 5’ 3” IN HEELS. She’s already a tiny lil nugget in heels. I was curious as to how tall she really is, no heels.

So, I wasted about an hour of my life to figure it out.

Firstly, I found the most upright official image of Weiss I could which also showed her heels, which was her Vol 1 character art:

Now for the fun part.

Next, I opened a photo editing app on my phone and drew as straight of a line as I could from Weiss’s head to the soles of her shoe. I drew a second line, red, down the length of her shoe’s heel.

Now let’s get rid of the illustration:

If the black line is 5, 3”, our known value, we must try to find X (the red line) before we can calculate Y (black line - red line).

5’ 3” is equal to 63 inches. Our Weiss Formula is, therefore, Y=63-X.

To figure out the length of X, I first had to see how many red lines fit into the black line, so I copied and pasted X over the black line:

As you can see, X fits approximately 22.5 times in the black line.

Now we do some math:

By dividing the 63 inches by 22.5, we get X, which is 2.8 inches. Now we can subtract X from our original number to get Y, which ends up being 60.2 inches.

According to my calculations, Weiss Schnee is ~60.2 inches tall, or ~5’ 0.2” without her heels.

Maria Calavera and her Mexican theme

So, some people are pointing out “Maria is not necessary Mexican, she has a Spanish name” witch i repply:

You motherfuckers thing is only her name, so first off, im gonna point out the obvious.

This is a “Calavera de dulce” or “Catrina” 

Symbol of day of the dead, a Mexican tradition celebrating and remembering the dead people we loved and cared for.

Now now, i know what you are gonna say, this tradition is in spain as well, but you just gotta see it here to realize where the true heart of the day relies on, in mexico, but MOVING ON.

As you can see:

Her baton clearly has an inspired skull in the calavera from day of the dead.

BUT THATS NOT ALL YOU CRAZY BITCH

And here is why:

She is: a woman with her eyes covered ,with already a baton showing Mexican culture.

But..why her eyes covered are a Mexican theme too?

I present to you: La llorona.

A woman who cried, an cried a fucking lot.

The story around her tale changes depending on who and where you ask. but the base premise is that woman cried so much, she run around all of México and cried the rivers and lakes, more specifically, the waters of Xochimilco.

So; i propose this, the fairy tale, or in this case just tale, Maria calavera is based on, is dia de los muertos, and the legend of la llorona, thanks to those fancy eye gear she has, covering her eyes for probably, a lot of use thanks to the silver eyes (or maybe she trains silver eyes users who knows, cinder got one eye blinded as well after her encounter with Ruby back in volume 3).

Look at her and tell me if she is not a cute abuelita.
