mal is kidnapped which makes hades an angry god who will stop at nothing till he gets his daughter back.

characters: king ben, hades. mentions of vk’s, sea three and oc.

True to Ben’s words everyone was working hard to find Mal, guards running all over the place and the cour four along with the pirate crew had non stop meetings with each other for any kind of new information or ideas.

Ben had also contacted other kingdoms in the land for their help which, surprisingly to Hades, actually did; Queen Ariel and Prince Eric had sent mermaids and mermen to search the sea and soldiers from the castle to roam their land for any evidence, Queen Cinderella and Prince Charming had done the same with their soldiers and sent animals to help with Queen Snow White.

The Lord of the Underworld was happy other people, especially royalty were helping him find his daughter, he was sure they would find her soon, but they never lessened the worry he had for her. Every second of every day he would always think of her, how could he not? He didn’t know where she was or if she was safe, or who even took her; all he did know what he was going to stop at nothing to find her and beat the hell of the kidnapper.

Days turned into weeks and they had no trail of Mal and her kidnapper, Hades patience was growing thin, he thought they would at least have something by now but no, they had nothing. He had barged into Ben's office the other day and ranted, asking the young boy why it was taking so long to find Mal, his anger got the better of him and a chair was broken and flames hit the walls leaving marks.

Ben had been calm all the time and spoke softly when Hades was finished “I understand your frustration, believe me, I’ve had a few episodes where I almost became the beast inside of me, but being angry won’t do any good.”

“I told you if you took too long then I would go myself”

The young king flinched “I know and I approved, just give us one more week. If nothing turns up then you can go”

Hades calmed himself down and looked at the young King, deciding to trust him and nodded “A week then”

It had been three days since then and Hades still hasn’t heard of anything, the VK’s and the Sea Three were working harder then ever to find their friend, Hades wished he could do something but his mind went blank. His powers were still locked down by Zeus’s order before he sent Hades to the Isle, and only the god of thunder could take them off - even if they’re brothers Hades really hates Zeus sometimes.

It was at night on the fourth day after Hades spend his day worrying again when a pounding knock came at his door, similar to the one he received before Mal...he shakes his head and opens the door, deja vu washed over him once again when he saw Evie standing there; and if it were possible she looked more solemn then she did before.

He didn’t get to say her name by the time she opened her mouth “Mal...Mal’s back, she-she came to the castle doors. She’s in the doctor's room, she’s….” her eyes flashed anger “She’s hurt, really bad”

Nothing more was said as Hades rushed to the where Mal was, he stormed past everyone who luckily kept their distance as they saw the God of the Underworld in a rush. He slammed the door to the doctors open, his eyes immediately catching the purple bluish hair of his daughter, and was at her side in an instance.

She had a few bruises on her face and scratches on her arms, busted lips and a black eye. Anger wanted to take control of him but he pushed it away, he needed to be with his daughter right now.

“Mal” his voice soft and gentle, she turned to him, and he hated seeing pain in her eyes.

“Dad” her voice croaked and reached out to him, he was at her at an instant and held her in his arms.

“I’m here Mally, I’m here” she choked a sob and he held her tighter, rubbing soothing circles on her back, hoping to bring her some comfort. When he didn’t hear any crying he pulled back and wiped her cheeks “Mal sweetie, who did this to you”

She looked conflicted if she should answer or not, Hades didn’t bother her and waited until she spoke “It was Hedda”

Hades froze “Hedda did this to you?”

Mal slowly nodded and wrapped her arms around herself “She snuck into mine and Evie’s room in the middle of the night, I didn’t know she took me until I woke up in some sort of cave. She can use magic now since there’s no barrier...and it’s stronger then mine”

“B-But why? Why would she take you?” Hades knows Hedda very well, the only daughter of Hecate who unfortunately ended up on the Isle as well by Zeus. The two were known to getting into fights and so kept their distance, he was surprised to learn that she had a child a year later and saw the kid when she was five. Fair skin with green eyes and black hair with green and blue dips, even the way she acted at the time screamed Hecate. Hades wanted to take Hedda away from the mad woman but knew he couldn’t do anything, not without his powers.

Hades knew Hedda had a grudge against Mal for the way she was, bathing in the fear of her mothers name and getting anything she wanted while Hedda had to fight for it. Hades couldn’t completely blame Hedda back then, even looking at Mal now all bruised, a part of him cared for the young girl.

“Because I left them, I left the children on the Isle while I lived the Auradon life” Mal replied “I denied it at first but she talked more and showed me that I was wrong. That while I lived here with all this magic, clean air, fresh grounds and food - that I left all the kids scrambling for just a bit of food and a piece of fabric to sleep on. I said I was going to bring them all over but I didn’t, I failed them and abandoned them”

“Daddy” Mal allowed the tears to flow once more “I’m sorry, I’m sorry I left you there. I know how much you hated it and I-”

“Shhhh” he soothed “Shhh Mal, it’s ok. You didn’t leave me, I left you and I shouldn’t have. I’m sorry”

“I guess we left each other” Mal smiled sadly, Hades hugged her again, tighter then before, afraid she would be taken again.

“I guess so”

They stayed like that for a while before Mal slowly started to slump against him, carefully he pulled back to see that she had fallen asleep, and laid her gently on the bed and pulled the covers up her body. He kissed her forehead and squeezed her hand before leaving, nodding to Evie and watched her go in put his mind at ease, he needed someone to be there for Mal when he wasn’t.

He’s going to pay Hedda a little visit.

Something was wrong, he didn’t know what it was but he could feel it, shivers went down his spine as he tried to think of what was causing this; could it be one of the Gods? Did something happen in his underworld? Was it that jerk Hercules again? They all felt wrong the more he thought about them, maybe it was that brat’s son Herkie? No? Then what was it?

“Strange” he muttered, he would have shrugged it off by now if he could, but his body was telling him not too, and he found that extremely weird. “Mal?” his stomach immediately went off and that’s when he knew he was on the right track, something happened to Mal, but what?

Standing up from his new comfortable bed in his new comfortable room in his new comfortable house that Auradon gave to him when the barrier was taken down, he grabbed his signature leather coat and was about to walk out the door when it was hastily knocked at. He opened it to see a young girl with dark blue hair, matching eyes and rosy red lips; he knew this girl and had always seen her around his daughter, and was told the two were the absolute best of friends.

“Evie” unlike how he had previously seen her, the child wore a solemn expression, her eyes red and held sadness and anger. Her once beautifully placed hair was in a mess and the rep of her lips hardly seen, mascara dripped from her eyes as if she had been crying?

“H-Hades” her sweet gentle voice was replaced with fear, in front of him was not the brave and curious girl he had seen, but a child who wanted to run.

“What’s wrong?” he spoke gently to her despite wanting to see Mal in a rush, but with how Evie knocked on his door and how she looked, he couldn’t turn her away.

“I-It’s Mal”

His stomach dropped.

“What happened to her?” he tried to keep his voice gentle, but knowing something happened to Mal, something bad made him want to burn everything.

She wasn’t fazed by his tone and by the glint of anger in his eyes, she had seen that far to often back on the Isle “I-I can’t explain right now but you need to come with me to the school now”

Hades didn’t hesitate and nodded “Ok, let’s go”

Evie led him to inside the school and into a room on the highest floor where there was a number of people, the former King Beast and Queen Belle and the current King, Ben who was engaged to his daughter; the boy may be soft and too kind but the God liked him as he was good to Mal. Two boys who he recognised as Carlos and Jay, two other of Mal’s closest friends who he liked as well as two pirate boys, Gil and Harry Hook; the last being his beautiful niece, Uma. They all looked like they had a nightmare, as his niece was in the arms of the Hook boy who held her tightly and whispered in her ear, Gil giving her a warm rub on her back.

Ben immediately noticed him when he came in and walked to him “Hades” his appearance as the same as Evie’s; dishevelled.

“What’s wrong with my daughter?”

The young boy flinched, his eyes darting around to the other people in the room “I’ll tell you everything, maybe in another room perhaps?”

“There’s no need, we can leave to give you space” Uma spoke, her voice was strong but Hades didn’t miss the fear inside. Ben gave her a look of asking and she nodded at him before standing up, the two pirate boys immediately following her, their hands never left her body as she walked. She stopped by Hades, and gently grabbed his hands; he had not seen her this way in a long time, so whatever happened to Mal must of been bad.

She let go after a few seconds and he gave her a small nod as she walked out, he made a mental note to talk to her later. The other followed suit, leaving him and Ben in the large silent room.

“Now tell me” he demanded, he didn’t want to wait any longer, something bad happened to his daughter and he needed to know now.

“O-Of course, please take a seat” before he could say anything back Ben had already plopped himself down on a small chair, sucking in his teeth the God sat down and motioned for Ben to talk. “This isn’t easy for me to say, so please, I ask that you bear with me as I explain to you what has happened” Hades didn’t say anything, but he didn’t need to as Ben understood him “Earlier tonight someone broke into the dorms of Auradon Prep, all of our guards have been rounding the area and magic barriers had been put up like always to keep people out; but someone managed to break in”

“Go on”

“We didn’t know of this until Evie woke everyone up past midnight…”

“Ben! Ben wake up!” the young king was roughly shaken from his bed, when he managed to open his eyes the first thing he saw was his mother, looked distressed.

“Mother? What’s wrong? Are you ok?” his mother has never done this to him, so he was worried for her and on high alert, she didn’t have any bruising or marks, her pyjamas had no shreds.

“I’m fine honey but we just got an urgent message from the guard at Auradon Prep” Ben immediately sat up at the thought of the students as his parents school.

“What happened? Is everyone ok?” his mother looked hesitant at his words and his stomach dropped “Did something bad happen to any of the students?”

“Oh Ben…” she was close to crying, something bad did happen “It’s Mal honey”

His body froze at the mention of his bride to be “Tell me what happened”

“But Ben-”

“Mother please! If Mal is in danger I need to know now!” The determination and the need to know for the person he loved made his mother proud of him, but also broken; he always puts himself last and the needs of others first, it was his plan to bring the children of villains over where he found his true love; she couldn’t be happier for her son.

And so for that and his stubbornness, she told him.

“Sweetie, I want you to listen very carefully to what I say” she warned him, he nodded and she knew he took her words “There is no easy way to say this…” she sat down and grabbed his face gently, looking into those beautiful hazel-green eyes, a sign to show he was her and her husband's son “Someone broke into the dorms earlier tonight and locked themselves in Mal and Evie’s room...this person out a spell on the door to keep it locked...and the room to make it soundproof, so that no one could hear outside of the room. Ben honey...Mal was the only one in there and....and this person...they took her”

The room was silent as Ben finished, he didn’t say anymore because he knew, he knew that Hades knew what happened.

“Someone took my Mal?” Hades spoke, his voice dripping with venom “Someone broke into the bedrooms and took my daughter?!” his hair went into blue flames as he shot up from the chair, making it fall over. Ben didn’t move from his seat as he watched the blue flames grow along the Gods body, he wasn’t going to stop Hades for being angry, he had every right to be as Mal’s father.

“Who was it? Who was it and where are they so that I can bring the bastard hell?!”

“We haven’t found them yet, almost all my guards are searching for them right now, as are all the others Kings and Queens of Auradon”

“I’ll find them and make the bastard pay myself!” Hades growled as went towards the door, but was stopped by a hand on his wrists, he whipped to see Ben, his hand now off as the blue flames burned his skin. The god felt a bit guilty for his future son-in-law getting hurt, but all that was on his mind right now was the bastard who hurt his daughter.

“I understand that, really I do, when my mother told me what happened all I wanted was to run out and find them myself” The anger in his voice made Hades believed as well as how much love he had for his daughter, it surprised him as he had never seen the young boy say anything like this. “But right now, we can’t right now. I know you won’t like it, but we have to cool our heads and work together to find Mal. We can’t just go out there with knowing nothing, it could be our downfall”

Ben was right, Hades didn’t like what he said, waiting around and thinking instead of just marching out and look. But Hades knew Ben was right about them keeping calm and working together, Hades might be a God but if he isn’t careful and just wanders to find Mal, he could end up in trouble. He needed to work with Ben to find Mal, one wrong move and - Hades didn’t even want to think about it.

“Ok, Ok” he said slowly as his flames died down “I’ll calm down and work with you to find Mally, but if it takes too long then I’ll find her myself. Understand?”

Ben nodded “Yes Sir” Ben knew Hades would leave if the search took too long, he wouldn’t blame him or stop him - in fact he might join him. “The rest are helping as well, Evie, Jay, Carlos, Uma and everyone else; we’re not going to stop until we find her”

“Good”

“Also, I think Evie would like to speak to you” Ben said which surprised the God “She was the first one to find Mal missing, so I think it would be good for you to talk to her as well”

Hades nodded “I will. Where is she?”

Ben winced “In her and Mal’s room”

Hades nodded again “Thank you Ben, for all that your doing for my daughter”

“Of course sir, I love her”

The God let out a small chuckle before turning around and walking out Thank you again, Ben, for loving my daughter

He remembered the way to Mal’s dorm room, one of the first things that happened when he walked over the bridge was being shown Mal’s room by herself, she was giddy like a child as she showed him everything from her clothes, books, furniture, hair products and photos of her and her friends. It made him chuckle seeing her eyes light up whenever she showed him something new. He wondered what I would of been like if he stayed with Maleficent and watched Mal grow up, would she excitedly show him something whenever she did anything? Like drawing a picture, or successfully stealing something? Would she have him do her hair and let him to hers? Would she of joined him in joking around and doing weird shenanigans?

I missed out on everything in her life, I won’t miss anymore he thought back then when she showed him her book full of pictures of her friends. She had grown up without him and he regretted it terribly, if he could turn back time he would of stayed, only for her.

When he arrived at the room he was surprised to see the door open, leaving in he saw Evie, sitting on Mal’s bed with the same red swollen eyes he saw her with when she came knocking on his door.

“Evie” he said her name gently, but that didn’t stop her from jumping from the sudden sound. She wiped her eyes and stroked her hair with her fingers as he walked in, Hades frowned’ Evie didn’t need to make herself beautiful in every situation, the girl was already beautiful, but no doubt her mother drilled it in her to always look presentable to her standards.

“Ben said you wanted to speak to me” he sat on a chair across from her, it felt rude to keep standing, especially with this situation.

“I did” she nodded “I want to apologise”

“Apologise?” Hades raised an eyebrow in confusion “Why would you need to do that?”

“Because I let Mal get taken” His eyes widen by her statement, but before he could say anything she continued “I left this room about nine at night, I was helping Dizzy with some school stuff and to help her settle in. I didn’t think it would take that long but I managed to get her comfortable and to sleep around midnight, when I came back here the door was locked. Before I went I told Mal to get some sleep because she has been working hard and worrying over the wedding, she told me to come back soon because the doors lock at eleven” her voice started to crack “So I wasn’t surprised when the doors were locked, I didn’t think twice about it and used a spell to unlock it. When I walked in there was someone there who I didn’t know and they were dressed all in black, that’s when I saw Mal, she must of been knocked out as she didn’t respond when I yelled her name. Her hands and feet were tied and she was gagged ...I tried to stop them, but my mind couldn’t think of a spell and my body just froze. I did nothing except watch as the stranger took Mal away” By the end tears were rolling down her cheeks “H-Hades, I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I let her be taken away, I thought after everything that I could now fight back and stop being a scared little girl but I was wrong. I’m sorry-”

“Evie listen to me” He got off from his chair and knelt down in front of her but she wouldn’t look at him “Evie” he said her name again, harsh and loudly this time but that didn’t do anything, she stayed still and continued to apologise. “Evie!” he grabbed her hands which made her jump and look at him, tears falling faster “Now you listen to me, none, and I mean none of this is your fault. Did you help this stranger break in?”

“No”

“Did you lead them to your room and say to them to take Mal?”

“No”

“Then it’s not your fault” he insisted, “You are a good person, if it wasn’t for you no one would know that Mal was missing until school started, you told the guards as soon as you found out and went to Ben. So listen to me Evie and believe me when I say this, it is not your fault. Can you repeat that?”

“I-It’s...It’s not...my fault”

“Good, again and quicker”

“I-It’s not, my fault”

“A bit faster”

“It’s not my fault”

“There we go” he smiled, he let go of her hands and gently wiped her tears away “Keep saying that to yourself everything you think it’s your fault ok?”

“O-Ok” she nodded.

“Good” he patted her hands which made her smile a little “Is there anymore you want to tell me?”

She shook her head “No, just that I’ll stop at nothing to find her”

“Me too kid, me too”

After having a talk with Evie and comforting her again, the poor girl fell asleep from exhaustion of letting out all her tears. Hades wasn’t surprised and left her on Mal’s bed under the covers, if it was anyone other then Evie or Uma, he would have settled them somewhere else instead of his daughter's bed.

Speaking of Uma, Hades found her out in the gardens alone, he thought it was strange since she was always with Harry, the two were almost inseparable. He didn’t like Harry at first, the way he talked, how he moved and how he thought; it was twisted to the God. But then he saw how much he cared for his niece, how despite all the laughing, manic ideas and high temper, that the boy truly did care for Uma and her well being.

The grass crumbled under his black leather boots as he walked over to her, if she knew he was there she didn’t show it.

“Uma dear” he spoke as he was closer “Are you alright?”

She didn’t say anything as he stopped by her side, she was silent but he didn’t push her for an answer.

After a few moments she spoke “No, I don’t think I am”

He drew closer to her “Worried about Mal?”

“Of course I am” she snapped, and it surprised him “For so many years I hated her by what she did to me, but for the couple of past months we made up and got close. I was seeing her as friends again, one who would never leave me like before. We were finally getting back to how we used to, and some bastard has taken her away”

Hades knew all too well what happened to Uma and Mal, truth be told he didn’t like what Mal did to Uma when they were younger and he did see Uma work harder then Mal in trying to get everyone off the Isle (which he felt bad for feeling), he was quite stuck on what to do with them and their relationship. He had an idea on locking them in a room and only letting them out until they reconcile their relationship, but knowing them they would probably destroy the room and go after him next; and the God of the Underworld did not want to face their wrath.

“I just…” she fidgeted on her feet and kept sucking air in, Uma always had trouble expressing her feelings except anger, Hades knows this was because of how Ursula treated and raised her; to only show and feel anger, and letting anyone else seeing anything other then that was a weakness. “...I want her back ok! I want her back…”

Seeing her body shake he immediately pulled her towards him and wrapped his arms around her, her face buried in in shirt; he felt the spot slowly becoming damp and stroked her hair. “I know Uma, I know. We all want her back, and we’ll stop at nothing until she here and safe again, ok?”

He felt her nod against him and continued to stroke her hair until her body calmed down, the sobs decreasing and her breathing slowing. Once she was done she pulled back and wiped her eyes before straightening up.

“Well we’re not going to get anything done standing here, let’s go to Ben and make a plan”

Her body stood tall, confident like he had always see, her eyes gleaming in determination, her ura had changed to what it was once before.

It made him smirk “That’s my Uma”

She chuckled as he ruffled her hair and made their way to see Ben again.

Don’t worry Mal, we’re coming to get you. I’m coming to get you.
