A comic about James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond by me ～♡ As most of you know, I’m a super big fan of James May’s bunker kitchen cooking videos on Foodtribe. So I thought I draw a little story of what could happen, if his lovely colleagues were in his kitchen too.  And I also had a chance to include Jeremy’s farm shop, as well as a few other funny things. ≧◡≦

With all the huge to do list of comics I have right here on my desk, I couldn’t help but pause it all in order to illustrate some random scene from the BEST freaking fanfiction I have EVER read (and still reading) in my entireeeee lifeeeee!!!!sdfkjsdlkgjsldkgj!!! I’m talking about the Battle of Eagles saga by the talented @words-without (for some reason I can’t tag her! Go check her out). It consists of two parts, each the size of a whole book (!!!!): And When the Earth Shall Claim Your Limbs and Speak Against the Sun.  This particular scene here (which I did kinda fast, and I’m so sorry, this written masterpiece deserves so so so much better, but life gets you by the balls and stuff…) is from the first chapter of the second installment (Speak Against the Sun).   If you haven’t read this work of art yet, go check it out immediately!

otveI feel like I’m the only one with this view but I feel like Basim doesn’t care at all about Hytham. Not to say that he hates Hytham, just that he doesn’t care. I’m sure Loki liked the attention as Hytham would have given him the attention he wanted when he was just Loki. We can infer from codex and in game text that Basim was already starting to be controlled by Loki before he even got Hytham as an apprentice. It is states that Basim had been getting sidetracked by his own interests which would be assumed to be Loki looking for Odin.  Something it seems he didn’t give up on just because he had an apprentice. He likely liked having someone who hung on his every word but the moment he met Sigurd Basim seemed fully focused on his own goals. And the moment that he gets to England he leaves almost right away and doesn’t return or contact Hytham for a long time. No letters, no instructions(as it seems Hytham asking Eivor to hunt the Order was his own idea), and the only time he says anything nice it’s basically thanking Eivor for giving Hytham something to keep him out of Basim’s hair.

And considering that it’s clear Hytham is desperate for Basim’s approval the indifference is sort of cruel. It’s likely that why Hytham starts out disliking Eivor is Basim’s fault. After however long of wanting to get Basim’s approval for Eivor to just appear and without effort get a lot of approval from him would upset him easily. It would even indicate that Basim does not often approve of Hytham’s sills or complement him for him to be upset by another getting approval. Though with Basim’s personality it also seems likely that he’s not prone to approving of others. It is likely this is even the cause for Hytham’s actions against Kjotve was because he hoped that Basim would approve of him if he got the kill, disregarding his agreement to let Eivor have first goes at the kill. 

Just everything in the game seems to support that Basim/Loki was a very unsupported teacher to Hytham. It’s probably more preferred by people who liked Basim to think of him as greatly caring for Hytham but the game just doesn’t support it as I see it. And personally I like his character that way.
