A distinction I think we might want to consider: a lot of people aren’t using “Zionist” as a sub-in for “Jew”, they’re using “Zionist” as a sub-in for “kike”—not that they’d actually use that word per se, but that the feelings associated with that word are the ones they’re trying to invoke when they call Jews they don’t like “Zionists”

it really is so fascinating how “believe victims” applies to everyone but Jews. the cruelest examples of this can be found amongst Holocaust deniers and the 10/7 deniers, particularly the rape deniers, but it’s true every time there’s an antisemitic incident too. the Vueling plane is the latest example. people didn’t want to accept that visibly Jewish kids would be discriminated against, so obviously it was their fault. obviously they were Jews causing problems. obviously anyone reporting on it was being hysterical and lying and exaggerating.

because, see, the DC shooting, that wasn’t antisemitic either. Yaron and Sarah deserved it. the fire bombing in Boulder, definitely not antisemitic. the elderly people burned, Karen Diamond dying from her injuries, they deserved it. what happened in Amsterdam, that wasn’t antisemitism. it was an organized “Jew hunt,” but they deserved it.

in each case, somehow, it was all the victims’ faults. (which usually comes down to: how dare those disgusting Jews exist in public?)

every time. there’s justification and denial of it every damn time.

Gender and sexuality is weird. Telling ftm lesbians to "identify as nonbinary" is weird. Some people just aren't nonbinary, they're ftm and lesbians. Who are you to tell someone how they experience their gender and sexuality?

Lots of people make the argument that "identifying as contradictory labels invalidates everyone." Other people's identities are not invalidating your own. Your validation doesn't depend on how other people who don't know you exist. There is no wrong way to identify or express your gender.
