Sizzle and Spice: A Bulgogi Delight🔥
Doesn't this beautiful and delicious dish give off a mouth-watering impression to you? Well, in my case, that's always what happens. Starring Spicy Pork Bulgogi (제육볶음) is a delicious dish that originated from Korea during the Joseon Dynasty from the late 14th to the 19th Century. Spicy Pork Bulgogi is a dish that is internationally famous for its delicious flavor due to the influence of Koreans.
Spicy Pork Bulgogi Recipe
Cooking Time: ~30 minutes (excluding marinating time)
Meal Prep Time: ~15 minutes
Ingredients:
• 500g (1 lb) pork shoulder or pork belly, thinly sliced
• 1 small onion, thinly sliced
• 2 green onions, chopped
• 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
• 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Marinade:
• 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp honey (or more sugar)
• 1 tbsp sesame oil
• 1 tbsp rice vinegar (optional, for balance)
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1-inch piece ginger, minced
• ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1. Marinate the Pork:
• In a large bowl, mix all marinade ingredients.
• Add sliced pork and mix well until fully coated.
• Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best flavor).
2. Cook the Pork:
• Heat a pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbsp vegetable oil.
• Add the marinated pork and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked and slightly caramelized.
• Add sliced onions and green onions in the last 2 minutes of cooking.
3. Serve:
• Transfer to a plate and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
• Serve with steamed rice, lettuce wraps, or side dishes like kimchi.
This amazing and flavourful dish is my favourite because of its spice. The amount of heat added into the dish perfectly blends together leaving a delicious taste in your mouth in every bite.

Exploring Davao City 😚💕
Finally back at one of the places I can call home — Davao City, a place that was once part of the Sultanate of Maguindanao which was called “Pinagurasan” way back by the maguindanaos. Davao City experienced a whirlwind of events dating back from the precolonial era to the Japanese era in which the place was previously occupied by the Japanese and later on developed the place with abaca plantations. After the war, Davao was rebuilt and developed as a regional center for commercial and administrative activities, and was later on incorporated as a city in 1936.
7 years after visiting Davao way back 2018, I finally revisited the place I love the most. Everything seemed new to me again since establishments were bigger and the place upgraded into a very modern urban city. For 4 days and 3 nights, we stayed at The Royal Mandaya Hotel and the experience was great! In front of me was a 5 star well-known hotel in Davao City where celebrities and politicians often visit because of its incredible hotel service, and delicious buffet. An all-you-can-eat buffet welcomed us near the lobby, and the place smelled like heaven as the fragrance of breakfast surrounded the place.
We visited different tourist attractions in the place — one of them was the famous Crocodile Park. Different species of animals were seen including snakes, crocodiles, tigers, and many more. What's special about the park is not only the animals, but their famous Crocodile Ice Cream I've always wanted to try 6 years ago. To my surprise, the ice cream was very delicious! If no one asked, you wouldn't know that crocodile eggs were incorporated in the ice cream. After a fun tour at the park, we went to Heaven Dew Resort in Kapatagan near Mt. Apo where we took photos of our family, and all of the beautiful flowers in their garden.
Davao was really fun to revisit. After years of not being able to travel back to Davao, I finally got to visit one of the best places I've been to again. It was a memorable travel with my family since we got to reunite with my relatives all the way from Davao, where we bonded, danced, sang, ate buffets, and visited different places.
