An update for my favorite couple!!
Subtle Like a Brick | A Drumming Lessons Story
The bathtub was not built for two. Really, it could hardly fit one full-grown adult. But, somehow, you and Roger had maneuvered yourselves into it.
It had seemed like a smart idea at the time, when Roger’s lips were on your neck and his hands were already under your shirt. But now the water was getting cold and you were sick of Roger’s knobby knees knocking into yours.
“I’m officially pruny,” You declared, standing up and reaching for your towel.
“Thank god. This is not as sensual or intimate as Cosmo insinuated,” Roger sighed and followed you into the bedroom.
“I knew leaving that out was a bad idea,” You rolled your eyes. As you stepped toward your dresser, you bumped your toe into the foot of the bed and cursed loudly.
“Ouch,” Roger’s face cringed sympathetically.
“Stupid fucking tiny apartment,” You grumbled, dropping your towel and pulling clothes on in a huff.
Roger was quiet as you dressed, prompting you to look over your shoulder at him.
“What’s going on in that pretty head of yours?” You asked.

“I sort of uh, I came up and did dentistry, and I thought I didn’t know what would happen - I had a kit down in Truro, down in Cornwall. And I suddenly realised I couldn’t stand not being in a group and that’s when I met Brian. I met him through my flatmate at Imperial College which is a different college to mine; I met him in a bar one night, he wrote me a letter after I replied..an ad: ‘We need a Ginger Baker/Mitch Mitchell type drummer’. And uh, Brian wrote me this long involved letter - he sounded quite intelligent, you know, cuss he liked Jimi Hendrix so I met him and got on very well so it’s a bit of a beginning.” - Roger on Brian, interview with Bob Harris, 1977.
