Heath Franco
Heath Franco is a creative Sydney artist, his video works often attract our attention to popular culture and mass media, I am very sensitive to his non-traditional expressions and rhythms and repulse through a mix of hyper aesthetic, like ‘LIFE IS SEXY’ and ‘the embodiment of American gluttony preoccupied by an iced donut.’ Franco’s practice is generally informed by spread into Capitalism, such as Western domesticity, the chaos of society, and cogitation of nature.

Photo 1: Heath Franco, LIFE IS SEXY 2016-17 (video still).
Franco’s works can often be described as grotesque and even absurd from the point of view of an elegant person. At the beginning I did not understand what he wanted to convey. I even thought his vwork was kind of humor videos. In contrast, his works have a strong sense of sarcasm, such as the criticism of corrupted capitalism and his alienation from Western society. He uses a variety of video techniques to emphasize his point of view, such as repetition, separation, high contrast, and strong rhythm shifts, etc. This strong creative technique is widely used in various fields today.

Among his other types of works, the one that most affected me was his work ‘Home Town’. When a person leaves home, he knows that it is sometimes difficult to adapt to the outside world. Just as in his works, his hometown is built on the snow-capped mountains of the road. This is a different point from the city, and it is just like he is different from most people today.

In my view, Franco’s work is obviously successful, but his creative approach is too strong, it is difficult for some people to accept. Perhaps there is a better way to be chose?

Tony Albert
Tony Albert is a contemporary Australian artist working in a wide range of mediums includingpainting, photography and mixed media. He get contemporary art in Australia, and his work engages with political, historical and cultural Aboriginal and Australian history, and his fascination with kitsch ‘Aboriginalia’. He was born in an Aboriginal family in Brisbane, so he interrogates representations of Aboriginal people through a mix of humour and poignancy. Most of his work is that closing local family and people’s life.
Different growth environments give birth to different ideas of life. I thought it is a critical issue for everyone, include Tony Albert. Because of this, he recorded and tried to change Aboriginal peoples’ cognition and living environment with his own strength. Like his work: We can be hero
Tumblr media
(Photo 1: We can be hero, 2018. Tony Albert)
In this photo, children cos-play different kinds of heroes who they like. The interesting thing is this series of photograph show how Albert tries to teach children how to overcome fear and how to make themselves strong and how to get power. Like he said most works he did are all about himselves experience. I have remember last year, I shot a series photo which used quite same way, its called Growth and Stagnation.

I thought Cos-play is a good way to tell your own thoughts so that the audience can understand your purpose more directly. This photo is Bat man with me, it tried show a relationship between the most favourite hero touch with me. Like Albert said: ‘Some sensitive issues always can effect photographer.’
Moreover, he also said he want society can give more attention for Aboriginal, like making a friendly relationship and finding a balance between society and Aboriginal. He also updating and documenting some Aboriginal works, like Amata women’s paintings.

In Iranian:
Marriage is the decision of the parents' elders. After marriage, more than 20 kilometers of travel should be signed by husband. The application of a passport requires the consent of the husband. Under the same educational background, the competition is only male. Talking to a stranger will be interfered by a passer-by.
It tries to show some videos that should be played in Iran, also it is tried to appeal to the Iran government's recognition of women's human rights.

Life is quite easy to change
This blog will describe  Raphaela Rosella and some viewpoints of her photography. She introduces herself, an Australian documentary photography artist, a storyteller, shooting for traditional long-form of documentary story, her work explores the lived experience of several young women facing a social disadvantage in Australia, such as her twins sister. Raphaela is committed to talking these stories in the hope that people begin to consider the complex and cyclical nature of social events.Raphaela is committed to talking these stories in the hope that people begin to consider the complex and cyclical nature of social events.
Raphaela Rosella born in an Australian small town, Nimbin, it is the place known for its open drug culture and alternative lifestyles. As a young woman, their choices were quite limited; violence and having children young seemed normal and the dream to ‘leave and start a new life’ meant leaving our family, friends and community behind. The hard-living environment in childhood did not affect her failure to become a life because she experienced a strong sense of belonging in a close family community relationship, which became an important condition for her photography career success. As a result, she spent eight years recording events in life, such as her twin sister, her stepfather and friends. She also said: ‘Every experience is complicated and insufferable’.

Picture1 (From You’ll Know It When you feel it, Raphaela Rosella)
Raphaela’s previous photography started with her teenage twin sister told her how she was pregnant. And she persuades her to go for an abortion. Raphaela thinks her sister could live a better life. But what is a better life for young homeless pregnant single mom? It is a quite hard question for them.
In my opinion, this is indeed a very difficult problem because my family is also a divorced family. My mother divorced because of my father’s domestic violence. After that, I often live alone. I can also fully appreciate the difficulties of being a single mother.

What is more, Raphaela said: ‘life is quite easy to change’. Like her twin sister, because she does not want any kids’ leave, she starts to try drug rehab and write a jail letter to her child.

Thus, I can understand Raphaela Rosella’s thoughts and her critique of social unfair deeds. We should use this as an example to use photography to reflect the real life, focusing mainly on the stories of socially vulnerable groups.

Black Cover
Because Iran has strict requirements for women's dress. Women in public must wear headscarves, wear long shirts, short-sleeved shorts are taboo. Iran TV station is selected for the Olympic Games and other international sports competitions, such as swimming, diving, gymnastics and other projects on the Iran TV channel is absolutely invisible. This blog is not criticizing any conflict between religion and belief. It's a call for women's human rights. It is unimaginable if my photographic works or other famous photographers' works are exhibited in Iran.

Time or Memory
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For today’s seminar, as Douglas Lance Gibson, a brilliant Sydney photographer. He paid lot of attention in ‘Documentary and Commercial of Photography’, such as a couple of series photos - ‘What Was Once Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow and Faith/Void’, they all powerfully demonstrate the understanding of his personal point of view.understanding of his personal point of view. In high school, he first touched with photography and he also thought that shutter speed, aperture and ISO are the keys to taking a good photo. Douglas said that  ‘before shot Documentary photography, learning photography is for a job are not education.’ He also does a lot of commercial photography for daily life. After this, Douglas was influenced by some famous photographers, such as Derek Hendson, Joshua Heath and Robert Kinmont then he made a crucial decision. He left commercial photography to create his own art. What I most like the series of the photo is ‘Time Lines’. (Picture1. Douglas Lance Gibson, Lo Sa LaKo Cakacaka, 2014) All these photos make me feel the importance of time, like Douglas said: There is a greater sense of elasticity to time in Fiji in general, and I don’t think it has anything to do with the date line.’ What is more, when he shows the photo ‘Noisy Miner’ he noticed that: You never see the same thing twice. This reminds me of my own photo ‘Waiting for you’. (Picture 2. Waiting for you, 2017) This series of the photo shows a woman’s shape in each time, she may waiting for her family or friends at the airport but who knows, while It quite like Douglas’ unstable miner. Thus, I thought I resonate with Douglas. Furthermore, It like Roland Barthes’ memory and Eadweard James Muybridge’s running horse.   (Picture3: Eadweard James Muybridge, Sallie Gardner, 2014) Moreover, Douglas elaborated on the authenticity of photography. He believes that commercial photography may not be able to coexist with documentary photography. Cause I did not touch any commercial photography, so I can not show any position. For this seminar, what I agree with most is that Douglas thinks the uniqueness of time. But I don't think that mastering the time has mastered a powerful force. For me, ‘time’ is only a quantifier for physics, and what people really want for life is  rather than time.   References Lists: Picture1: https://www.widewalls.ch/paris-photo-2016/ Picture2:https://online.uts.edu.au/courses/1/80047-2017-SPRING-CITY/db/_3398094_1/ACT3%2836PAGES%29%20QISENZHAO_YVETTE%20HAMILTON.pdf Picture3: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Horse_in_Motion_high_res.jpg
