I personally take the following approach: turn off all notifications/badges/etc for every app except reminders I personally create, text messages, and phone calls. I also intentionally limit any access to social networks and news.
It is, in a word, awesome. I don’t have the World blaring at me from all angles and yet I stay reachable if someone needs me. As for social networks and news, I see their use but I don’t feel the need to check in all the time. Once a week (if at all) is more than enough.
Taking those steps lowered my overall stress level in a big way, and it helped me connect far more to the world that is going on around me right now. You don’t have to go away to find peace from all the tech/news/social networks/etc, you just have to embrace that you are the one in control of what you see.

One of the latest Andromeda trailers. Interesting: you can apparently change classes during gameplay, possibly even on-the-fly. I’m not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, yeah, people can change and decide something would work better if done differently. It also lets you sample classes you normally wouldn’t be able to prior unless you restarted the game (or games, if you were on ME:3 and imported your character).
On the other....it’s definitely a departure from how things worked in the prior 3 games. I kinda felt that Shepard was a specialist in a particular field; you get to choose the field, but it really made your choice matter. It also made you focus more on teamwork and encouraged the sense that Shepard was human, i.e. she (or I guess he) wasn’t a superwoman who could do anything. If you can change classes at will, why do you need a team?
We’ll see how it turns out. I like the idea of not being stuck in a particular class permanently (just for trying things out), but I don’t think changing classes should be an on-the-fly thing. That would almost make the main character be too much like someone in a “game” vs someone in a “story”.

Conan’s Clueless Gamer with Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage, playing Overwatch.
Don’t watch if you want to really understand anything about the game, but do watch for amusing dialogue between the three actors.

It’s true, Promto’s photos are an excellent part of the game, especially when you are getting close to the end, as when you look at the ones you’ve saved over time it forms its own personal story. It really helps lock in the “journey” aspect of the game as it can remind you of all you have done and such
However, sometimes I was like “Prompto, what were you doing when you took that shot? Did you notice as you were snapping the picture that my character was in serious pain/jeopardy/etc?”

Have you ever seen a product that made you think “Yep, we’re in the ‘future’ alright”.
You have now (at least if you click the link and look at the product). They’ve not really said that it’s anything more than a concept piece, but it does work, and it does exist. Wow.
