Basically, I kinda cried (it was wonderful), and I also got a picture with THE Robert Duncan McNeill. He’s the sweetest person on earth (I cried again).

I’m going to see THE Jonathan Frakes tomorrow. Any tips on how to act normal in front of the sexiest man alive? I might start levitating, is that a valid reaction?

Hi Hi Hi I love your art and I was wondering what program and brushes you use to make it look like traditional art??? It's so cool 😭❤️

Ohhh that’s so sweet, thank you so much!!🥹 My style tends to change a lot, but I’ll run you through my current favorite brushes!

Also, I use Clip Studio Paint! It’s an awesome program, though it can be a bit pricey TT The amazing thing about it is that it has a databank where people upload alllll kinds of brushes and useful materials that you can download and use for yourself!!

I sadly realized that the brush I use the most for my line art at the moment was deleted by the owner, meaning you can’t download it anymore. But! You can find a very similar brush that I also use a lot called “mango pie” in this brush set:

I’ve also really been enjoying the brushes from this set, which have a more painterly texture:

(The brush “oil sketch” from this set is my favorite!)

For coloring I usually just use the default “G-Pen” that comes with the program!

What I love to do to my finished art is add “noise”, textured overlays and other effects to make the art look less bland. I’ll give you a before and after:

See the little grains? I just love the “vintage-y” look of it, especially because the texture makes clothes look a lot softer and not so obviously digitally painted. (Also, surprise, this is an unposted piece I’ve been working on!)

It’s a bit of a trial and error to find the materials you like to work with, but if you need any in-depth tutorials on how I do things, you can ask anytime 🥹 otherwise YouTube also has a lot of great tips and tricks!!

Lower Decks really missed a golden opportunity to travel back in time to not The Trouble With Tribbles, but to Trials and Tribble-ations, where live action Boimler and Mariner would've had to avoid not only Kirk's crew, but the copy-pasted crew from Deep Space 9.
