Is Matt Jeevas a redhead???? (existencial crisis, send help)

Soo my cousin and I were chatting about DN, and she asked me where the hc of Matt being a redhead came from. So, i told her "its not a hc", but in the anime is brunette??? And now is causing us an existencial crisis.

So, does anyone knows where did we get it from??? Or its just like the Marauders's fandom??
