BULALO
A beef soup that is composed of shanks with bone marrow that is still inside the bone called "Bulalo". Bulalo is originally from Southern Luzon in the Philippines. It is popularly known for its indulging taste tgat made it become one of the most favorite dishes served in our homes and it even attracted restaurant owners to also specialize Bulalo.
HOW TO PREPARE? In preparing Bulalo, you should choose the appropriate meat which is our main ingredient (beef shanks) and simmer for longer period of time to make it tender and to make it flavorful.
INGREDIENTS: 1 kg beef shank, blanched 2 liters water 1 pc onion, quartered 4 cloves garlic, crushed 1 tsp black peppercorn 1 pc bay leaf 1 pc potato, cut into pieces, par boiled 1 pc yellow corn, cut into 6 pieces ½ head cabbage, cut into pieces 2 sprigs spring onion, cut into pieces 1 tbsp toasted garlic 1 tbsp Salt 1 sachet 8g Maggi Magic Sarap
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1 Simmer beef in water until slightly tender. Skim off fat as needed. Step 2 Add onion, garlic, peppercorn and bay leaf. Simmer until beef is very tender. Step 3 Add corn and simmer for 10 minutes. Add potato, cabbage and spring onion. Season with Maggi Magic Sarap. Transfer into a serving bowl, top with toasted garlic and serve.
