I find it kind of funny that human babies are so fragile and helpless and useless that natural selection went like HARD-hard on humans finding babies cute. also, maybe it's just me but

luigi has a severe back condition, and they're saying he took a 19 hour bus ride from atlanta to new york.

if you don't have a bad back, you might not realize that being cramped up for nineteen hours, even with a ten minute break every so often is still going to cause extreme pain - and they're trying to say luigi did that, and then checked into a hostel in new york before casing a hotel all within the span of two hours.

as someone with back pain (not even the same condition) i can tell you that is not happening. every person i've spoken to who also has back pain says the same thing.

also, i have no idea why they think he used a 3d printed gun, despite the hubbub about them, 3d printed guns are generally considered unreliable and the bullets are impractical, even at close range, and unhc's ceo was shot in the back and the leg. not to mention that while plastic is less abrasive than metal, any kind of firing mechanism in a 3d printed gun would still leave identifying marks on a bullet, and considering they 'found' a sort of 3d hybrid gun on him, the parts kit used to make the weapon would still be traceable from all the fragments a 3d printed gun, even a 'hybrid' type will leave some type of fragment behind and would still likely damage the gun.

plus they say he dumped the backpack but if the gun was untraceable, why wouldn't he have also dumped the gun? it's just a bit weird that he went to such lengths to fool police but still carry the gun on him.

he was also considered a missing person before he was arrested, and cops have never been above scapegoating the mentally ill.

Mental illness CAN cause people to say and do bigoted things, especially illnesses that cause the kind of delusional and paranoid thinking that makes someone susceptible to conspiracy theories. Denying that makes it harder for people with those illnesses to accept their conditions, let alone receive support or help.

Kanye's actions are not limited to rants on twitter and paying extreme amounts of money for a Super Bowl ad just to sell a shirt with a swastika shows a level of thought and planning that goes far beyond just a paranoia or delusional episode.

People who are not actually bigoted but who experience those kinds of episodes where they say bigoted things due to mental illness will apologize after. Kanye has never apologized and never will because he's a bigot. Plain and simple.

Regardless of what is causing Kanye's behavior (it's bigotry and hate), his words and actions have tangible effects on Jewish people. He has far more followers on twitter than there are Jews in the entire world and what he says and does has gone a long way to emboldening antisemites in his fan base and influencing people who see him as someone to look up to.

hospitals are always busy. specialist referrals always take time. there may not always be a bed for a mental health patient.

doctors are underpaid and overworked. there aren't enough nurses.

people get sick. they get hurt. things happen.

suggesting that adding the stress of paying for all of your healthcare on top of this will fix it is asinine.

Sometimes I see people from countries with public healthcare systems post videos that are like “This is the reality of socialized medicine. I had to wait in the ER with my sick baby for 4 hours.” “I had to wait 8 months to see a specialist. That’s egregious.” or “They didn’t have a bed for my loved one in mental health treatment.” and it’s like. Come to America babygirl. You can experience all of this and have your insurance deny it and pay thousands and thousands of dollars for it. Like I know healthcare systems in countries with public health can be bad but when I see someone imply they’re bad because the healthcare is universal, I want to jump through the screen and put my elbow on their throat. “The NHS is deeply flawed, therefore we should abolish it and go back to private healthcare.
