Seeing people try to defend the lack of racial/ethnic diversity on Tumblr is... wow. So let me share a reminder: It used to be better! Still dominantly white, but better than what it is now, at least. Then everyone got tired of the "blackouts" and other mostly Black-led conversations around racism because it was "ruining their fandom fun" or something idk and quite literally chased out so many bloggers of colour through harassment campaigns from the user-base and massive staff-led blog purges. This was not even that long ago, btw.

I can think of so many beloved mutuals who had to leave this site for their mental health because they just couldn't take it anymore.

Tumblr deserves every shred of criticism it gets for being so white after all that.

I know we are all used to hear bad news from the USA or UK when it comes to trans rights but this time Germany wants to play in the same league.

Our idiots at home ministry came up with the fucking idea to start a register for all transgender and nonbinary people which would mean every person working at some public position could always at any given time see your assigned gender at birth, your deadname, your address and who knows what else.

We had been there in the past. Hitler Germany called it the "Travestite Law" back then. Our politicians didn't learn.

We all know this is unacceptable.

Please, if you are German, sign it. If you are not, spread it wide and far.

This had been stopped once a few years ago. It needs to be stopped again.

the fact that Reylo discourse is now almost entirely 'is this ship toxic :)' always throws me off so much because I genuinely think the MUCH bigger issue with Reylo was that it pushed a black man to the side as Not Love Interest Material in favor of a white nazi. Like the issue is that shipping Reylo arrived transparently because people did not care about the black man – which I know, because the ship became popular before we even had The Last Jedi! When they'd barely interacted! If Kylo were black and Finn were white, Reylo would not be popular and it would never have become canon in any way, and I do think a refusal to grapple with that is honestly very embarrassing.

may be a hot take but i think the fact minors can access 18+ content by just clicking a button that says 'yes im totally over 18 trust me' is like. totally fine tbh. its a non-issue. i dont care if curious teenagers are looking at porn. they've been doing that for as long as porn has existed. id rather teens explore their sexuality through images on the internet than rush into real life experiences when they're not ready for it yknow. the UK is trying to put stricter age verification in place (which in turn is becoming an online privacy nightmare) and like. for what. who is it helping. why is this a problem.

“Firefighter Buckley, you have a visitor.” Nurse Beverly said as she popped her head through the door. Buck turned slightly to face her, both of them sharing a soft smile before she disappeared. In her place appeared his boyfriend, Tommy. He was wearing his LAFD t-shirt and uniform slacks, evidence that he was in the middle of a shift before he came rushing over.

“Hey you,” he said softly as he slowly approached Buck. Once within reaching distance, his hand came to rest on the small of Buck’s back; his thumb gently brushing small circles out of habit. “Hey.” Buck whispered back, eyes diverting back down to the small bundle in his arms.

“Who do we have here?” Tommy asked. He pressed a delicate kiss onto Buck’s temple before shifting himself so he could get a better look at the sleeping baby. “This is Benji, he’s the only survivor of a house fire. It was…awful.” Buck could feel the tears pricking at his eyes again and he looked back up to Tommy, his face soft and emphatic.

“Six weeks old and he’s just lost his whole family. It’s so unfair.” Buck continued, his voice breaking towards the end of his sentence.

“Oh sweetheart,” Tommy hushed. He wrapped his arm around Buck’s shoulder and tugged him closer to his chest.

“I said that I would stay with him until the social worker comes to take him in but I just…”

“You what?” Buck remained silent as he looked back down at Benji. At his thick, dark curls. His tiny button nose. The smattering of freckles that littered his face. His long eyelashes that fluttered as he softly dozed in Buck’s arms. Buck’s heart clenched in his chest, not just from the sadness he felt, but the overwhelming feeling of longing and need.

“Baby, whatever it is you can tell me.”

“I think we should adopt him.” Buck blurted out, the words fumbling out of his mouth as if they were fighting to get out

“You do?”

“Yeah, I do. And I know it sounds crazy. We’ve just moved into our house and we have only been back together for barely six months, but I just can’t let him go. But I also don’t want to scare you off.”

“Evan, I promise you; you are not going to scare me off. I told you when we got back together that I was all in, for everything. You are my soulmate. This is what I want with you; big house, marriage, babies. So if this is what you want, let’s do it. Let’s be dads.”

Buck stared at his boyfriend in complete awe. He couldn’t believe after everything they’ve been through that they were here; at the cusp of starting a family, beginning the journey of being parents. “Let’s be dads.” He whispered back.
