A metric ton, actually, because I've been in the fan character scene for as long as I've been on the internet, and have a decent amount of original fiction "in the works." So let's just run through the ones that have been getting the most use (i.e. occupying my brainspace) lately.

So is it any surprise that I have Dragon Ball OCs? Thank the Xenoverse games for that. I'll only talk about two here.

Avon! She's a half saiyan from Earth with unknown parentage (although there are a few ideas I've played around with). The man that ended up raising her, Sepir, is a bastard and general scoundrel. Avon grew up in Durian Town's criminal underbelly, becoming a member of Sepir's group of thieves, and growing into a slightly infamous jewel thief and pit fighter before even reaching adulthood.

The picture here doesn't show it, but she angy. Her rage is a defense mechanism born from a lifetime of danger and mistreatment. Combat is a good outlet for it; at least until she loses her shit and goes overboard.

In the beginning of her story especially, she's short-tempered and mistrusting. Makes it kinda hard to make friends.

Enter Shiva: Avon's self-proclaimed bestie (aside from two canon characters that I won't mention here), and the reason she learned about the Time Patrol in the first place. He's also a bit of a scoundrel, but in a much better way.

Shiva happened to be tracking one of the super dragon balls on Earth when he encountered Avon. To sum it up, "oops, surprise! Aliens exist! Also, you're one of them!" She didn't take the news well.

The next time they meet each other, Sepir's gang is in the middle of a heist to steal the very dragon ball that Shiva is after. So it's one super-powered alien versus a team of (mostly) normal earthlings. Just as the latter believes they've gotten the upper hand and are about to escape with their prize, Avon and Shiva end up in a one-on-one brawl that results in them getting separated from the others.

Now that they're alone, Shiva gives her the Time Patrol pitch one more time, and she decides she's in. From that point, Shiva becomes a relentless source of positivity in her life. It's annoying, but she can't bring herself to hate it.

Shiva's not without his own demons, of course. He keeps his own past close to the chest. No one needs to know that he was an up-and-coming dictator in his own little corner of the universe before he chose to exile himself. Keeping that secret would be a lot easier if he didn't love hearing his own voice so much.

That's not it for the Xenoverse OCs but we'd be here all day if I were to explain them all. These last two are who I've been thinking about today specifically and I think are the ones I've had the longest? (Of the ones that I still do anything with, anyway)

Heroforge also makes me too powerful. This is Selinas. She started as a Dragonborn in Skyrim but I got attached and her story has since become its own original thing.

Selinas is the newest member of the Fateweavers, an ancient faction based in the city of Kismet. She's also the youngest by a wide margin. Even though she spends most of her time around her older, wiser fellows, she retains a sort of starry-eyed optimism that will definitely not get shattered over the course of the story.

Red eyes are a gift from the gods, an indication of magic that can be honed to see the future. Fateweaver services are in high demand; especially now that the king has passed. Her years long training has just been completed, and Selinas has been hired for her first reading in a nearby city. Its leader, Daru, intends to make a bid for the throne and wants to know his chances.

Daru's younger brother, Gharmaul, has been sent to escort Selinas (with the help of two additional guards from Kismet's royal palace). He thinks his brother is an idiot for going to all this trouble. But arguing with Daru is always fruitless, so Gharmaul has chosen to keep his mouth (mostly) shut and do as he's told. It's just a simple escort, a few days of walking to and from his home town and back again. What's the worst that could happen? Surely not a giant monster or a romantic subplot.
